Loved the service and the food. They serve coffee the way it should be served: By The Pot, self-pour. Thank you. Very friendly and the food is awesome. You will not go hungry. They have WIFI---but not for you. When traveling alone, it is nice to check emails and pay bills whilst drinking this great coffee. But the WIFI is not for you. I have already read my papers, so this is my time to be anti-social and indulge in my social media efforts. For us roadwarriors, WIFI is expected if the place has a router. Hence only 4-stars. I've lived in Maryville my entire life and never ventured into this place so I decided to give it a try for lunch one afternoon...and I wish I would have gone sooner. When you walk in, it's got a diner vibe and an older crowd. There's old pictures of nineties country singers on the walls and advertisements on the table. This is right up my alley. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. I'm the kind of girl that loves breakfast for lunch or dinner so I decided to try the Southwestern Omelette. It was cheese, ham, green peppers and onions topped with salsa...and it was delicious. I paired it with hash browns and it was filling and totally unhealthy...but delicious. We finished our meal with blackberry cobbler. It was served warm with ice cream and had that perfect tart and sweet taste all at the same time. If you are looking for outstanding service and a wonderful home cooked feel, look no further in Blount County. The breakfast is priced right and the biscuits and gravy can't be found anywhere local. They have a wonderful dark gray that is full of flavor. Now the pancakes is something that you shouldn't ever try. The reason I say this is you will be hooked on them and constantly be comparing every other pancake you try to theirs. This is a place where you feel at home and can relax. A stand-alone restaurant in the parking lot of Midland Plaza. Great breakfasts! Large breakfast menu (2 pages) of pancakes, waffles, eggs of all sorts including an "Early Bird Special served before 11, of 2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, toast or biscuit & gravy for $450. Curiously, no beverages shown on the menu..guess you need to ask your waitress about those prices, but the coffee comes in a big carafe. The eggs are done just right, including the omelettes. The Hickory Hearth ham is salt cured, fyi, but thinly, sliced grilled and tender. Service was slow for the house bot being packed, but the coffee was hot was we were hungry, so it was satisfying. First time at this restaurant as family recommended this place albeit breakfast. My dad got the BLT , Fries and cole slaw. The BLT and fries were good but the slaw tasted like it was weeks old. I got the burger with cheddar cheese, fries and green beans. The cheese was shredded and not melted on my burger which showed the burger wasn't even warm. This would have been ok if it tasted good... it didn't ....I had one bite. The green beans were good tasted like gma,s country beans but they were super salty. This is a great place to enjoy a country breakfast. We got the Hungry Homer and the Hungry Sally. Both of which included more than enough food (especially for the price). I would recommend the pancakes which were great and my husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. I loved that they gave us a carafe of coffee when we arrived so our cups were never empty. read more

I've been here every Saturday morning since February this year when my grandmother died, she had a tradition of going here to eat breakfast every Saturday and now we do in remembrance of her and she loved the food especially the biscuits and gravy. The sausage you could tell was that old school greasy, iron skillet sausage like your old hillbilly grandmother used to make. I mean that in a good way. The hash browns were fantastic as well. Oh dear. We're from out of town, just looking for a goodbreakfast, not at a chain. We really should have jus gone with the chain. Really awful breakfast. Really. Awful. Our server was very nice, did her best, but on this Sunday morning, after a ridiculously long wait for our food, it was really awful. I hate to say it. Spongy pancakes with no flavor. None in the biscuit s either, which were like bricks. Weak coffee, though it's nice that they left us a pot, and you would think it's not that difficult to make a decent cheese omelet, but these guys have not cracked that code. I am not going to lie. I love eating local mom and pop restaurants and hate to give a bad review. Not only was the service terrible. Our drinks never refilled. They left our food at the counter for 10 min. We had three different waitress. One was rude, one was so-so and the other was fine. All my food was cold and bland, corn was mushy, cornbread was dry. It appears to be a local hot spot and was busy but my husband and I can't figure out why!?!?! read more

I have been there a couple times and I like the food. I was there on Friday and I and my mother ordered the same dish, hot beef and mashed potatoes. The cooks should know that if you have two of the same dishes at the same table,make sure the portions are the same. My mom got hers and she had a huge portion of potatoes and mine was standard. Her beef slices were like 4 and mine was two. Not that it really matters, but when I worked as a cook, I got schooled about sending a large and a smaller portion of lasagna to the same table. When we were there, I noticed the back section of the restaurant was closed. You could fit an extra 20 people in that section. I went back the next day to get some turkey and the section was still closed and there were no tables available.so I left. Too bad they need to turn away customers because they don't want to open another section. read more

My Mother and her best friend would always go here because it was cheap. The quality of the food is average but the service was good, I must say that I've had better food though, it's just a step below Shoney's but a little bit cheaper.
