Nestled downstairs of The Joule in Downtown Dallas, Midnight Rambler is the not so secret speakeasy that everyone loves. The doormen and bouncers were all so sweet. I frequented here during my days working in the area and it seems to still live up to its potential. It was my first time visiting on a Saturday and although it was pretty packed, our server took care of us and our cocktail orders seamlessly. Shoutout to the cocktail that was recommended by our server (I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture of the Pokémon themed menu). I don't remember the name but it was a Peach flavored vodka cocktail that came with a peach flavored sour candy. It was scrumptious! Perfect addition to the palette. I didn't want to drink anything else! The only change I'd make was to have a diverse range in music choices. We were there for an hour and wanted to hear something different from the techno mix the DJ was enjoying.

My friends and I were blown away by the service here! We were celebrating a birthday and all the staff made our time there feel really special. Jade was a GREAT server and went above and beyond for us- from drink questions to food preparation, she was ON IT. Speaking of; the drinks and food were AMAZING! The Parmesan-crusted grilled cheese was to die for. The drinks were exceptional; we all loved the cocktails (especially the Peachy Perspective) and shots. The vibe was cozy/ intimate and the menu was phenomenal.

A gem inside of one of my favorite hotels. Drinks were delightful and the service was solid. Very cool atmosphere and would easily come back when in the area

Fun place with lots of creative art and such a vibe. This speakeasy is definitely one of my favourites and I must admit, it was a long time since I've been here (pre Covid). Service was great. Haylee/ hailey? made some awesome drinks for us so shout out to her! Will be back!

Was looking for a a tasty cocktail and happy I came to Midnight Rambler. Located in a hotel in Downtown this quaint little spot had a great vibe and a DJ. I very much enjoyed the cocktail, it had flavor and just didn't taste like pure alcohol. Looking forward to trying more of their cocktails.

Solid vibe. Tucked underneath a hotel. Super kind staff and seated us Friday night even without a reservation. Concept was cool enough, music was fire, and drink selection was decent. Wished there were some more food options but that's just personal preference because I was a bit hungry. Overall cool spot to chill and vibe with friends after a hell week at work

We wanted to experience a downtown bar while we were visiting Dallas. Our searching brought us to a small bar called the Midnight Rambler. It was nice and cozy and much more comfortable than some of the more popular ones. We were excited to see that the current drinks were 'Pokemon' themed. We had the Peachy Perspective and the 11. The Peachy Perspective had a nice flavor to it. It reminded me of a good peach flavor that wasn't too sweet or overwhelming. The 11 was definitely a nice change. The flavors were nice and it was served frozen. We would have loved to try others but we didn't have time. A great place to try. They gave us custom 'pokemon' cards that matched our orders. We had a great time and would love to visit again.

I was in the area with my husband so we decided to checkout this cocktail bar. We got there around 8pm and the bar pretty packed, we got lucky that there was one seat available at the bar and the couple that was next to it left after about 5 minutes so my husband didn't have to stand next to me the whole time. We had 2 rounds but I got distracted and forgot to take pictures of the second drinks. The bartenders were nice, we even got a free shot since we were celebrating my husband's birthday. Will go back when I'm in the area.

Such a cool bar! It's inside a gorgeous & historic hotel, The Joule (a Leading Hotel of the World). To enter the bar, you walk into the lobby, make a left and walk downstairs. Don't forget to check out the beautiful mosaics in the lobby. The rocker chic modernist decor in this bar is off the charts and I love it. It's rare to find a bar that has great decor and is this hip and young but with no attitude. This is the place to go in downtown Dallas for a drink. We managed to snag a booth. They have some super cocktails and everything is very creative. I tried "The Hunty" cocktail which has sweet and tangy flavor cubes like Mango and Tajin spice (molded into the shape of a little jeep! It's all in the details) that you can choose to drop in with some wooden tongs. The staff is super cool and great looking. Love the signature T-shirts with the lightning bolts. I had fun just looking at the interior decor. The patrons were happy, but everyone was behaving themselves. There was a beautiful couple quietly kissing in a booth in the corner. They were obviously having a great time. I chatted with my best friend and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit here; she doesn't even drink alcohol. Definitely recommended if you're in downtown Dallas as it's one of the nicest and coziest hip hotel bars I've seen in my travels.

Best speakeasy in Dallas hands down. Their drink menu changes seasonally, however I will post some items in this review that are a knockout. The service is amazing, and they cater to your needs and tastes, whether you like tequila, fruits and even hibiscus, they got you. Presentation of all the cocktails are creative, innovative and fantastic in taste. The ambiance is very great gatsbyesque, however live djs in residence always perform, and the music is amazing. I recommend booking a table in advance since spots fill up quickly, as it's very lively!

This place pretty cool! A speakeasy vibe! Very quaint but grown and sexy vibes! A twist on drinks! My drink was ok I was expecting it to be more sweeter but it was definitely good to try. My colleague had 2 drinks, he liked the first one and thought he liked the second one but then said it tasted too much like sake but the twist on the second drink was cool-it was brought out like ramen but weirdly you had "noodles" and the thought of eating it/drinking was pretty interesting but cool concept twist especially for those who like cool drinks! The staff were nice and the bar was full of people. There were also tables and booths too! We sat at the bar and it was cool. The menu I thought was pretty awesome! Looked like "record." If you're into speakeasy vibes and good cool drinks, come here, you won't be disappointed!!

Ended up at Midnight Rambler because the other speakeasies were closed. Interesting mix of people here and a cool menu. The service wasn't great though and the drinks were a little bizarre.

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

Overall: 4.7/5 [dine in]…read more Service was amazing! Our waitress Emilia was super attentive throughout the whole night. The drinks have unique flavor combinations that actually deliver and the happy hour is phenomenal. We're talking 50% off select appetizers and entrees, $12 Over the Counter cocktails, $10 classics, and BOGO ponies and shots. They also have daily specials Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday. The space has serious speakeasy vibes so give your eyes a few seconds to adjust when you walk in from the bright light outside. Icelandic Hot Dog ($3.50 HH): Tiny single bite TX wagyu dog that was cute but hard to share. Tasted pretty similar to a regular hot dog. Tostada ($4 HH): Kanpachi on a blue corn tortilla. I'd recommend getting 2 since it gets messy the moment you take a bite and I didn't really get a proper taste of it because of that. Caviar Chip ($6.50 HH): A generous dollop of caviar on a kettle cooked potato chip with creme fraiche underneath. A yummy combo but honestly something you could recreate at home. East Coast Oyster ($2.75 HH): My husband got a single oyster to try and thought it was pretty good. London Fog ($12 HH): Milk washed London dry gin, earl grey, aveze, dry curacao, and vanilla orange honey. I loved this cocktail. I don't usually like gin and find earl grey too strong on its own but this combination was perfection. It was also served in the cutest tea cup with a yummy cookie on the side. Morocco ($12 HH): Moroccan mint tea, terralta reposado, rye, fernet branca menta, and agave. Not my favorite compared to the London Fog but my husband absolutely loved it and said it was one of the best cocktails he has ever had. He even said it would have been his signature cocktail at our wedding. I was shocked but to each their own. Confit'd and Fried Chicken Wings ($7.50 HH): The most disappointing item of the night. Came with 6 wings tossed in a Korean wing sauce that tasted very close to buffalo. The wings themselves were average. Skip these. Beef Cheek Tacos ($12 HH): Came with 3 tacos that were some of the best we've had in a while. Delicious, flavorful, no notes. Highly recommend. Soft Serve Marg ($12 HH): Like a boozy dole whip that doubled as dessert. Not too heavy but not super strong either. A fun way to end the meal. Pekin Tom ($20): Duck fat washed wild turkey 101, lapsang peach liqueur, absinthe, and pecan smoke. Not part of the happy hour menu. They smoke it right in front of you which is a cool presentation but the taste was pretty average. APO Burger ($10 HH) + Truffle Fries Sub ($7): The truffle fries felt a bit steep but they ended up being worth it. Super crispy, delicious, and addictive. The burger was cut in half which made it easy to share and it came with a TX wagyu patty, bruleed fontina, Spanish tomato spread, garlic whip, and chive. Burst of flavors, melt in your mouth wagyu, absolutely chef's kiss. We will 100% be coming back. It's a perfect spot for an intimate date night.

The hotel property is like four legs under the table - a great location, a great hotel experience, a great restaurant experience, and a entertainment experience (The Mansion Bar). At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.
