We got the jasmine tea and coconut juice, both with matcha foam. Aesthetically, the drinks are very nice. Taste wise, it's also very nice. The coconut juice with matcha foam, to me, tastes like uncle tetsus cheesecake. Very subtle and light, not too sweet at all. I preferred the jasmine tea because of its floral taste. Mido Matcha is conveniently located in the heart of Central Square! We were looking for refreshing drinks for a hot summer day and stumbled across them. I tried their Taro Matcha which was a massive clump of unsweetened taro paste that was unable to mix with the rest of the drink. This was an unpleasant drink which was unfortunate considering it was $8+. Their Grape Green Tea was much more enjoyable! It was fruity & refreshing with an aftertaste of matcha. New matcha drink and gelato shop in the middle of Central Square; great for a grab-and-go setup! I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait! There are two kiosks that you can order at close to the door, but I ordered at the counter. I chose to get a double scoop of gelato in a cup ($8); you can mix and match flavors so I opted for matcha level 2 and hojicha. My friend got matcha level 3 and hojicha. The hojicha ice cream was delicious, and I found it to be true to the flavor of real hojicha! I liked both matcha 2 and matcha 3, but I think my favorite was the matcha 3 out of all the flavors ordered in my party. It's less sweet than matcha 2 but it feels like there is genuine matcha taste in that flavor as opposed to matcha level 2 which is a bit lighter. I'd recommend! The only thing I'd caution is that there isn't any place to seat so this is really only a to-go place although you could eat along the windowsill. read more

I ordered the Jasmine Matcha Latte with oat milk. Mido Matcha is definitely one of the better matcha spots in Boston. The drink was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. The jasmine tea added a fragrant floral note, though it slightly overpowered the matcha flavor itself. Even so, it was still refreshing and enjoyable, especially if you like lighter, more aromatic drinks. Passed by this place and got a matcha americano. Super rich and clean matcha! This is purely just matcha and water, so I'm pleasantly surprised that it tasted so good. The matcha quality tastes really good even in this Americano, so I'm pretty curious to try the other menu items. There is no seating inside and it's a small business. I decided to try a new matcha place and found this one nearby. When you walk in, it's a small cafe with no seating, so it's definitely more of a grab and go spot. We ordered at the Kiosk, and I got the Jasmine Matcha Latte while my friend got the Strawberry Matcha Latte. The matcha had a bright, vibrant color and a smooth rich earthy flavor. I would definitely recommend the strawberry matcha, the strawberry sauce they use for the drink was delicious. However, I probably wouldn't order the Jasmine Matcha Latte again because I felt like it was lacking in flavor. It was easy to order on the kiosks in the store. The matcha flavor in their standard matcha latte was not strong enough, so I'm not sure I'll get it again. They opened with a big menu, including jasmine matcha latte and strawberry matcha latte. It is possible to get lactose free milk subs. My friend's mango matcha latte had a very sweet mango syrup. I generally prefer my drinks less sweet, but will have to come back to try the gelato. read more

My friend and I noticed this new matcha spot and decided to try their matcha lattes. She got the regular latte while I got the strawberry matcha flavor. Service was quick. We both thought our drinks were somewhat sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Initially we thought there would be too much milk when it came unmixed with only a small amount of matcha on top, but after mixing, the matcha flavor tasted rich and earthy. Got the matcha latte with taro and it was a solid drink! The taro was great, not the powdered stuff often used in cheaper drinks and I appreciated how they prepared the matcha fresh for each order. I ordered three drinks and technically two double scoop cups, but then ended up giving me one scoop each - hot hojicha latte $7 - cold taro matcha latte $7.50 - cold jasmine matcha latte $7.50 - hojicha/matcha level 2 double scoop $8 Total was about 32.10 with tax. So far, the gelato is the star. The hojicha flavor is the best! The level 2 matcha comes second. I didn't try level 1, but I did try level 3. Level 3 is more earthy and definitely good if you prefer that. Level 2 is a nice medium. The hot hojicha latte was a 1/5 for me. It barely tasted like hojicha, very dilute and milky. The cold taro matcha latte and jasmine matcha latte was a 3.5/5. It wasn't overly sweet. The taro added a nice texture. The jasmine matcha was not very floral like you'd see from Hey Tea or Molly Tea. Which depends on preference. When I came in, they had just gotten their sign under the register done and peeled. The service was ok. None of them really talked to me or helped with suggestions. There were only maybe two other customers and they all went to the kiosk. The space is small and it's relied on street parking. Would maybe come back for the gelato. Only qualm is that it's $8 for the size you get is not the best. read more

While walking down Mass Ave, I noticed that Mido Matcha was opened and had replaced Mogee Tee. Went in and ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and an extra shot of matcha. Although a bit pricy because they charge $1 extra for milk alternatives and $3 for the extra shot of matcha, the drink was well balanced and perfectly strong. They use ceremonial grade matcha which is a must for me. Staff was friendly and my drink came out fast. Will definitely be coming back. read more

I'm torn for the following reasons The iced matcha itself is delicious They weigh the amount of matcha and milk proportions which is great It's expensive but the quality of the matcha seems worth it and is inline with the other high quality matcha drink shops around. However .. if a place offers non dairy milks, it should not be using heavy cream as the base of the drink in addition to the non dairy milk especially as someone with a dairy allergy. The amount of sweeteners in these drinks is astronomical, they use both simple syrup (liquid cane sugar) and sweetened condensed milk (plus syrup if you get a flavored drink) if you ask for a matcha without sweetener they refuse. Why?? They also will make one persons drink by weight measurement but then if there is extra matcha in the bowl after they hit the ratio for a drink they'll keep it and just add more water and use it for the next drink which is highly diluted now The service leaves much to be desired, the staff rarely speak, definitely don't smile which dampens what is otherwise a very happy ritual of getting a drink I quite enjoy Overall the drinks are tasty, but just know what you're getting read more
