Very good sushi at good prices outside of casino Came this way for some event, but needed something light for a meal. So we fired up yelp and found this place right across the street from the casino entrance. It's not much to look at from the front. It probably was a pretty successful Mexican restaurant before switching to sushi. The inside is very date night chiq, with nice seats and blue mood lighting. We hit a smattering of foods. Spicy edamame, some sushi pieces to try, and a special roll to share. Food came out quick, server was very nice but also not very present. The spicy edamame was actually peppery rather than spicy. Still a nice flavor and the amount of pepper was still hot. Just not blisteringly so like some places do with shiracha. The tamago was cold, and very savory. They used a mix of soy in the egg, giving it a salty savory bite. The rice portion was small but the rice was seasoned properly. The tuna was good, but basic. Rice was not enough for the fish portion. The specialty roll, I forget if it's the Incredible Hulk or the iron man. They all have super hero or year numbers. But the roll was good. The eel sauce and wasabi aoli were highlights. Sweet, savory, spicy goodness. The cream cheese was not overpowering and the only detractor was the tempura crunch on top. Only was texture, no flavor. It's really solid American sushi, and worth a try if you want something not overly expensive but still tasty

Don't judge a book by its cover. While the outside might look like an old Mexican restaurant, the inside is a completely different story. Went for lunch on a Saturday, very slow but staff was friendly and attentive. The food was the star, deliciousness!! The best was the homemade Pan fried Goyza!! Highly recommend Will definitely be back if we are in this area again.

Drove by on my way to a different restaurant and just had a good feeling about this place. I was absolutely right-- food was delicious and the service was rather quick. Will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area! Not too loud, and the vibe was great. Had a Japanese soda!

Every December a group of friends and I get for a Birthday Dinner. We loved this place so much it is our second here. The staff did an awesome job with 18 of us. They were on top of our needs. The food was all amazing. Everyone was super happy with their meal and drinks. I highly recommend their lychee Martini; the scorpion bowl is incredible, just make sure you are not driving, cause it is very strong. They have Sapporo on draft which is also great. They have great sushi options. Their Udon noodles are also great. We will certainly be back on our own and as a group.

Best Gyoza in the area! Yep. I'll definitely be back for the gyoza. Perfect Christine's. Delicious taste. Ate it so fast I didn't take a picture. I also had the Shoyu Ramen. Very good. Nice creamy broth. The noodles were the right texture. I'll have to try the others to find my favorite.

Great place to stop in on the way home from a long work week! Easy to check in! You are welcomed quickly and offered a table or the bar. I chose the bar today. Delicious pain killer during happy hour. Today was a zero rice sushi day. Yes it is possible. I ordered the Queen roll, Naruto Tuna Maki and Edamame. All fresh and delicious. Yummy! I also ordered The Painkiller which is a delicious adult beverage as well. If you'd like happy hour show up at 4, on Friday to beat the rush. Plenty of seating for after work get togethers.

I wanted to give this place a try to get their yaki udon. It has a smallish interior that seems equally split into two halves plus a bar. They had light instrumental jazz style music playing, and when I was here for lunch I was the only patron. In addition to their beef yaki udon I also got their lunch sushi sashimi special. Everything came out very quickly, and service was friendly and attentive throughout. The udon was pleasantly slurpy with a good beef flavor, no weak sauce here. The sushi sashimi plate was all fresh tasting, and I was happy to see tamago on the plate as that's unusual but a great closer. I would say the California roll is forgettable, largely cucumber with little else. Luckily I had plenty of other evidence to say this place can put out some good sushi. The price was also reasonable, which can be tough to find nowadays in a restaurant.

Great local sushi spot in CT. Not a huge variety and the rolls seemed to be a bit repetitive but delicious fresh fish, an incredible miso soup, and outstanding service made all the difference. You can go a block up the street and pay a fortune for sushi at the casino or enjoy this intimate and friendly local spot. Recommend the paradise roll.

Best sushi around. This place gets better and better. Priced fair. Fabulous rolls. Great margaritas. Highly recommend.

I love coming here before hitting the casino, loading up on a nice base layer before slots. Great selection of sushi and variety of fish. Fish always seems fresh. Combo rolls are creative. Service is great! Menu is wide enough including ramen, noodles, rice and appetizers. There's even chicken wings and fries for those who might be lost and out of place but dragged along by good company. Bathrooms are clean, dine in and bar area are clean. Best of all - pricing is reasonable (especially as compared to eating at the casino). I always look forward to dining here when in the area. Check 'em out!

The Sushi was some of the best i've had! The service was ok, we were at the bar top with one other couple and it took them about 10 minutes to come up to us once or acknowledge that we were there. When the food came out it was so good and tasted fresh which a lot of them time with sushi it's not. The overall restaurant its self was really nice and had a nice vibe to it. Definitely a good place for a date night.

As I drive up to it I got a little concerned as all the parking spots in front were taken. Almost moved on until we saw they had a parking lot off to the side. Pulled in and went inside. We were seated right away after given a few choices of where to dine: hibachi table, booth in bar area or booth in dining area. We chose the dining area which happened to be right next to the hibachi tables so we heard the chef over there as they cooked. They use only one menu which seemed like it was their takeout menu. No real complaints I guess as it did list everything. Our appetizers came out quick and food was good. Although the steak bits seemed a little dry. Liked that they allowed us to swap out the mushroom soup with miso soup. Salad was good, they used a different Asian styled dressing which was tasty. Portions were large and we wound up taking some leftovers home. Took close up menu pics as the ones in this site were hard to read. 4 stars because we kept being visited by a couple pesky flies around our food.

Came for sushi ended up getting dinners. Hibachi portion is very large, noodles were delicious. Tofu was cooked well and had crispy skin, would recommend. The Scorpion Bowl - WOWWW!!!!! Typically find these tasting flammable but this was the perfect balance and probably could've had several. Our server was super nice, food came promptly, overall a good visit.

They don't have their own restrooms; it is in the building (go down the stairs, then to the left under the stairs). They have AYCE and regular menu items. We came for AYCE, which you can order 3 rounds of, so make sure you order enough (but not too much, because you are charged for excessive leftovers). We only needed to order 2 rounds. They can get pretty busy, so it may take a bit to get your order, but they are good at making sure you get your whole order. The service is friendly as well. We ordered a large variety. The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice. The special rolls (we got Fancy Tuna, Enter the Dragon, Mango Tango and Spider Roll) are pretty heavy, as most of the flavor is from the sauces. You can order things without the dressing or sauces (see the house salad without dressing....yes, it's just lettuce lol) Make sure to save room for ice cream! They have Vanilla, Green Tea (Matcha), Strawberry, and Fried (Vanilla). The Green Tea is a really strong matcha, which I love! For $28/weekend adult pricing, it's a pretty good deal. Just make sure you leave time to sit and wait.
