Really good! Their salmon is delicious and soft, matches well with the avocado, and has a beautiful color. The decor is fantastic! I love the dolls and the wooden piece over the entrance to the kitchen. Walking in, you are greeted by the staff as they yell out heartily "irasshaimasen"! There is a place on Parmer (I won't mention names) but they have lines out the door because the staff and music they play. They encourage a fun night, maybe a saki bomb or two, play fun up to date music and the lighting is nice. Tonight we went to Midori and they were playing Nsync, brian Adams and backstreet boys and it was bright in there (Saturday night). So, as your Neighbor, Midori, I want to go more often and bring my girlfriends .. Have a saki bomb, listen to fun music in the background and not have it so bright in there. I'm a bit biased due to one experience, but I'd still consider the overall review average at best. The experience - we bought a groupon for dinner. We ended up there just after 1pm, baby in tow. They would not honor the groupon, even if we ordered from the dinner menu and paid full price. While I know it says "dinner" I thought it was a bit unreasonable. I went back for dinner in any case. The service was poor, the server was barely interested and I had to ask the sushi chef to flag him down. Then they had the nerve to tack on a service gratuity to my bill. Really annoying! The food was okay, rolls are the best choice. Individual sushi cuts are small. Overall very pricey for what you get. There are better choices! read more

Amazing lunch specials and very unique rolls offered! On two separate occasions I ode red the dragon roll special! Very large roll, 5 pieces of sushi and also a "chef's special" mini roll! This didn't include the small salad with an awesome ginger dressing and cup of soup! Extremely affordable and a great value! Keep in mind this place is popular so come early or be prepared to wait for this place is rather small. We also visited Midori on a Sunday evening! WHAT! Half price rolls! We were blown away by the Midori Roll, Ryan's Special Roll, Marilyn Monroe Roll and several others! A great place overall! As far as Sushi goes, this place really delivers. You can tell the head sushi chef is a veteran of the game and all the other assistant chefs have plenty of "raw" talent. (did you catch the pun?) We always start out with some edamame which is always fresh and just enough salt and then we begin gorging ourselves. I have a lot of favorite rolls but my go to ones are the tigers eye and spider rolls. Basically though all their rolls are awesome. And it's consistently delicious. The only reason they did not get five stars is we have run into sub par service a few times. Also, this sushi is great, worth the price, and close to my house but it's not the best I have ever had. My wife, son, and I went to here to celebrate her birthday. She wanted some good sushi and we have had a hard time finding a place in North Austin that we considered good. The outside was nothing to brag about but that all changed once we stepped inside. With oriental umbrellas hanging upsidedown from the celling to the amazing decorations that made us feel like we where in a tradition Asian garden. The sushi was amazing both to the eyes and pallet. I have had so many types of fish that I never knew about and which were amazing in texture and flavor. Then there is their long list of standard sushi rolls, including tempura style ones. I've only been to lunch, but I've never had a bad experience. The restaurant doesn't have that many tables but there's always a table open when I want a bento box or a quick sushi fix. The servers are very quick to ask for your drink order and very quick to take your order. The soup and salad come out just as quick and before you even take your second bite of salad, your entree is being served. The service being so quick has led me to take shorter lunches Probably wouldn't recommend it for a lunch where you want to conversate or catch up with someone because it get's a little loud. The miso soup is pretty good, I can't tell if it's hand made or from a packet but it definitely doesn't taste like some of the gross packet soups I've had at other restaurants. The salad is good as well, just enough dressing to coat the lettuce. I've had a couple of different bento boxes and a couple of the sushi specials. The sushi is surprisingly good for the price they charge. The bento boxes are great because you never know what you are going to get! the entree stays the same and there's always a few pieces of the house roll and 1/2 a california roll but the vegetables and other pieces of nigiri are a mystery! They change every time but the quality of the main dish stays just as tasty. I've never been outside of the lunch hours because I've seen the regular menu prices and couldn't pay that much where there are better sushi places for that price range, but for a tasty and quick meal, go to Midori Sushi! We love Midori!!! We have tried many of the Sushi places in and around Anderson Mill/Cedar Park. Some started off good and then fell short. Midori is consistently excellent. We usually sit at the sushi bar and chat with the Chef. All of the sushi has always been extremely fresh and tasty. The also have great special rolls. I don't know what they put in it, but they have the best spicy tuna rolls we have ever had. The staff is very friendly and we have always had great service. This is a really great sushi place and a definite must try if you have not been. We highly recommended!! read more

My husband and I recently moved to the Austin area from the LA area and the first thing we did was look for a good sushi place. A friend here [who had moved out to Texas several years earlier form California] recommended Midori so we thought we'd give it a shot. It's a good place, but the emphasis is too much on the sauce when it comes to the rolls. Everything seems kind of drowned in it, and while the sauces are good, I can't seem to get over how sweet they all are. In addition, another thing that put me off was the eel sauce- it tastes spiced- like it has cinnamon in it [and if it does, then props to them for trying something different...it's just not what I am used to] and lacks the rich, smoky flavor I've grown to love from eel sauce in general. As other reviewers have stated the Marylin Monroe roll is good, and the tempura we had was very good, but it's hard to judge the fish for all the sauce it's enveloped in. The decor is very nice, and the service was great! I love the little LED sculpture that they make with apple slices and how the sushi arrives on a large geta, which added visual interest. read more

I ordered a sashimi combo plate that was off the charts. The fish was fresh and plentiful. You also receive a cup of soup and small salad with lunch. My dining companion had a sushi combo plate and it was also plentiful and fresh. Even with a hearty appetite I could not finish my lunch. You're better off somewhere else. The sushi wasn't bad... but the quality wasn't all that good. The fish was not thinly cut, the rolls were falling apart, there was too much cream cheese... (too Americanized for a something claiming to be not?) Midori seems to caterer towards a much less picky crowd than what I'm used to. If you are okay with mediocre sushi, or you don't know that much about sushi, this satisfies. If you want something more for your money.... go somewhere else! read more

My go-to sushi spot! The rolls here are BIG, so the servers will warn you if they know your eyes are bigger than your stomach. I ignore them every single time and every single time I end up w leftovers for a full day. It's kind of a tradition now. Their ahi tuna tower is the best in the city and their tempura rolls are original and crispy. I'd go here every day if I could afford it. Which I can't.
