If I could I wouldn't even give one star. At my visit I requested rhinestones and right after applying my gel the tech proceeded to apply the stones with out filling down the lumps in my nails. I was annoyed, I'm from California so having to find a good nail place is very difficult. Also having to explain to them multiple times how I wanted my nails. I've lived in midtown for 3 years and always drove by Midtown Nails and Spa, but never stopped by. A few weeks ago I was in a rush to get my nails done before going out with friends for dinner so I decided to stop here instead of my usual place that is further away. There was only one other customer who was waiting for her nails to dry when I walked in so I did not have any wait which was nice. I went with a dip mani and a signature pedi. My first impression was that the salon was not very neat and definitely not relaxing. There was a maintenance worker coming in and out with a lot of tools which did not help the experience. The pedicure was pretty good! There was a lot more included in the signature than most places. My only complaint was that the nail polish took way longer to dry than I have ever experienced getting my nails do. If you are looking for a dip mani I would suggest you do not come here!! The guy doing my nails was very slow despite not doing a very careful job. Usually nail techs are careful to not get the polish on your cuticles and skin in order to prevent the powder from sticking but he cleaned it up with the file which left a gap between my polish and cuticle. Another nail tech came to help the initial nail tech, but they ended up confusing each other because one hand ended up not being filed down to prevent a thick and uneven nail bed. If you are looking for a salon that does a great job be sure to check Maldives Nails or Secret Escape. read more

I am so pleased with the service I received here. I had 3D microblading with Tee. She was so kind and so patient. She took her time to get the exact shape that I wanted and liked. I was nervous about the blading part but it was really pain free. Seriously getting a wax hurts a lot more. The blades are disposable and she uses good quality pigment in a natural color of your choice. If you are thinking about getting this done, don't hesitate any longer! I went back here because they give the best massages (you pay extra during your pedicure if you want it). The people are also very nice. It is a very relaxing environment. Tina does my nails and she is very detail oriented. I appreciate her because she checks in to see how I'm doing. They also have an extensive Essie (my favorite brand) and OPI collection. Overall a great experience for my first time here. I came in for a shellac mani and classic pedi. They sat me right away and had two ladies work on me at once - what a time saver! The hot stones used during the pedicure was a nice touch too. I'm now ready for my holiday party! I decided to get my brows threaded last minute and the brow lady (didn't get her name) was excellent. Had a great experience here. I came in for the tranquility package (massage, facial and mani/pedi) which was $180. The spa has been been newly renovated and has new management. I found the location to be nice and clean. The massage and facial rooms were both quiet and relaxing. My massage with Haley was amazing. She used hot stones and did an awesome job. I felt totally relaxed after. Even though I was there with a package, the massage was about an hour long. I will definitely be back to get a massage again from Haley. The room was away from the rest of the salon and dimly lit, perfect for a massage in my opinion. My facial was just ok. I felt it was too rough for my skin and there was too much exfoliation. At one point the lady started using a brush on my face, something akin to a clarisonic brush. It didn't seem to be working properly and was too harsh. As soon as I said it was making me uncomfortable, she stopped which was nice. My skin was really soft after though, so maybe it wasn't all bad. My mani/pedi was done by Diane since she was so highly recommended on here. She lived up to expectations and did a very detailed, careful job. She was pleasant to chat with and really took care to do a thorough job. Overall I enjoyed my visit here and look forward to coming back. Absolutely loved the quality of all the services I got today! I came in for a mani/pedi, and ended up opting into their signature pedicure (hot stones and paraffin) and a shellac manicure along with a 20 minute shoulder massage. They did the mani/pedi together, so the experience was very efficient! They were also very meticulous with the paint and my cuticles, to ensure everything was in tip top shape. I've never had shellac look this good! The shoulder massage was lovely. An upsell, if you don't want additional services - but for $20, she did a tremendous job on my shoulders and upper back. Pre-tip, I spent $105, and for quality service, it was money well spent. Try and bring cash for tip, I wish I had. read more

Should have listened to the reviews. Not only did I come out with the bubbles in other photos after they promised a second coat would fix, but I felt judge in what I was asking for. Got a fill with chrome ombré. They kept trying me to get longer nails...My coworkers would kill me if they heard my nails typing on conference calls. I showed a picture of what I wanted and they said of course! Then we sat down and the short nail issue came up. So I gave a couple more images, essentially instead of ombré, a straight line splitting two colors. "We don't do that here" was the response and when asked why out of curiosity I was told they just don't. Then when it got to the ombré the technician said, we don't have a color like that. (Picture and agreed ok before). Felt like she just wanted to stop, I picked out a different chrome color that is different than picture but I think still looks pretty cool! Pretty sure I got an eye roll. Cant see the bubbles from far away so I just left, as I wanted to get out. Icing on the cake after a long work week was I asked if they had anything to drink, made sure to check Yelp that they had wine. I was offered water or soda, so thought their practices changed. This is a good nail place conveniently located in midtown. I have only gotten gel manicures and regular pedicures here. The Experience: The nail techs are all very nice and there is rarely a long wait. The foot/leg massage during pedicures is awesome, and for some reason better than other places. You can add on extra massage time too, for a charge. As a warning, most techs will ask if you want to upgrade/add on services while they are working on you which is fine with me, but some people may feel pressured. However, the wine offered during your service is included! Bonus! The price: My only negative is that it is pretty expensive, and there are definitely cheaper options in the area. Also, for the price, the experience is great, but my gel manicure has sometimes chipped sooner than I would expect. All in all, a great place to go with your girlfriends for a treat! read more

I've started working Downtown so I decided to check this place out again. I have an upcoming vacation and wanted to get an OPI gel manicure in a specific color, which I knew they had. This place is so nice. They offer you a beverage, the chairs are super comfortable, and their polish selection is top notch. It's about $10 more than the cheaper places, but it's totally worth it after a long day of work when you are ready to relax. My nails look amazing and I am super happy with it all.
