I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could! We are not pho snobs but we do know our pho given we eat it about every week back home in Hawaii... it's a staple for my kids! We ordered 2 rare steak pho (with meat on a separate plate) and 1 rare steak and meatballs. The soup was extremely flavorful and not super oily either. They also include lots of cilantro and greens onions for garnish. Even their plate of bean sprouts and basil were super fresh! Noodle portions are generous so two young kids can share so sure, even the soup was more than enough. We ordered 2 Vietnamese coffee to go and was so good too! It was strong with just the right amount of condensed milk. What's even better is that they use crushed ice giving the ice less time to water down the coffee. Can't wait to go back again! read more

A buddy of mine came to Midtown Pho because my recommendation was closed so he found Midtown Pho as an alternate. It was not a mistake. He told me all about the restaurant and my interest was peaked so I had to eat here. This was a special day because I decided to take my youngest daughter, who is very picky, to go eat here as a Daddy/Daughter date after we did our running around. The restaurant is a very nice venue to eat at. We had their fried pork spring rolls as an appetizer. I mentioned my daughter is picky. She liked it with no complaints (+1 for Midtown Pho). I ordered the Vermicelli noodle combo plate with extra shrimp. The food was tasty. The salad greens were fresh. The pickled veggies were pickled well. The meat was plentiful and flavorful. (+2 for Midtown Pho). My daughter ordered her usual at a Pho restaurant which was pho with thinly sliced raw beef. Being a picky eater, I was worried how she'd like it. SHE DID (+3 for Midtown Pho)!!! What put Midtown Pho over the top was the quick service, friendly staff, and the food came out quickly (+4 , +5 and +6 for Midtown Pho). Saw so many great reviews for this place and was excited to check it out because I've been on the hunt for a solid Vietnamese spot for the longest time. This was NOT it. We ordered three banh mi's and chicken pho w/ tofu added for takeout - easy enough, right? On the way there, I get an email notification that I received a partial refund. Okay cool, I figure they must be out of something. I'll just confirm when I get there. Walking in, it feels a little crowded, even with only a few tables seated. A woman greeted us at the host stand, and after confirming my name for the order, explained that they'd refunded me because they were completely out of banh mi. That's fine, things happen. I thank her, take my order of pho and head out. On the way home, I check my bank account and see that I was only refunded for two banh mi's, despite not receiving any of them. I called the restaurant and they argue that they had already refunded the order, so I had to reiterate that yes - I was refunded, but not the total amount of the *three* banh mi's. They check, admit that they forgot to add the third one to the refund amount and assured it would be taken care of. We get home, I open up the box and... am underwhelmed. The pho noodles are overcooked and have a slightly sour smell, the chicken is dry and the fried tofu looks like someone took one piece and mashed it up with their hands. Still, I thought maybe looks could be deceiving. I was wrong. The broth had absolutely no flavor (even after adding herbs and sauces) and noodles were basically a grainy mush. Can't say there was any redeeming quality. Also, it's now over a week later and I still never received the rest of my refund. Ignore the hype, wouldn't recommend at all. read more

Fantastic Service and Care for Customers I have been to this restaurant a number of times and every time the food is fantastic, the best Vietnamese food around. At the end of my last visit, I unknowingly dropped my wallet in the parking lot and left. It was found by someone at the restaurant and the manager took the time to call my bank to let them know it was there. When I came to pick it up the manager had held it safe for me. I am very thankful. It's great to feel like there are people who look out for one another. Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and people who will go out of their way for you. read more

One of the best pho places in town tied with Pho Far East- which I learned is a family restaurant (her parents restaurant). Midtown Pho has nicer decor and a pricier menu but I think it's worth it in terms of the quality and amount of food. Coming from NOVA (where all the good east coast viet food is), this is on par with or better than the average Virginia pho. I definitely want to come back to try their other dishes like the banh cuon and banh xeo (hard to come by at any viet place), and their rice and rice vermicelli dishes. read more

So happy to have a Pho restaurant in this area. It was delicious. My husband said "so fresh". It really did taste fresh and was not overly heavy. Great flavor and lots of greens. We got the sliced rare beef pho and added tofu. We also got the beef sandwich banh mi. Delicious and filling. The soup was filling but not overly heavy. They have drink specials each day. Also - kid friendly. My daughter is 3 and a bit of a handful. The staff was polite and didn't mind. If your child is a picky eater maybe bring a pbj since I did not see kid food. We have tried the Vermicelli Combo ($17 expensive for what you get - photo attached) and take out - 2 orders of Pho - steak/meatball, steak/beef brisket & Banh Mi Special. The problem is ALL of these were tasteless. I used all the condiments offered at the restaurant to give the Vermicelli Combo some semblance of flavor. At home the Pho broth was tasteless, the slices of meat were gooey and tasteless. There is absolutely no flavor on this menu. First time here. I went in to order take out for a vermicelli pork and egg roll bowl. My boyfriend got the spicy lemongrass chicken. He said his dish was fine. Mine was terrible. Some part of the noodles were too hard. The pork was undercook-big pieces. The only vegetable they put in there were lettuce and bean sprouts. No peanuts, no cucumbers, no no basil, no green onions. Midtown Pho has the freshest tasting, scratch made food I've had in quite some time. The Spicy Beef Pho was not too spicy, as to satisfy our Western palate I imagine, and the flavors in the broth all mixed well while also keeping their individual notes. The Spring Rolls were similarly satisfying and the peanut sauce that accompanied them was the real deal. Midtown Pho is one of the best local pho places you can go to. The dishes are all blasting with fresh flavors. The pho was delicious it was fresh to every last bite. I like that they give both sliced white & green onion. Plenty of bean sprouts and basil/cilantro too. Also very much appreciate them giving 2 lime slices instead of 1 like other places. Been comparing a lot of pho in Raleigh and have had almost all of it, this one is .2 miles from me and took me the longest to get to it. It's my favorite one. Great service inside, super quick for to go. I really think I'll stop here to get coffee in a pinch too, it's not too sweet and is super bright. My boyfriend thought it was a bit too punchy and likes his coffee a little sweeter so he added a small splash of some brown sugar creamer and then it was perfect for him. Drink specials daily well displayed on a chalkboard with a bit of history on the owner which is nice as Family owned places are not highlighted enough, but means a lot as this is not a corporate chain.
