Great sashimi, new find in growth area of Holly Springs. Not quite up to OSHA Sushi Thai but you can get a reservation

Parking can be tough because there are lots of businesses in this seemingly hard-to-find space. But I did alright and entered through one of their two front doors spaced several feet apart. My friend and I were seated after waiting a few minutes at noon on a Monday. We asked for a window seat but the tables were dirty, so we sat in a booth. Slow to seat us and unclean tables. Were they short-staffed? Idk, whatever. I ordered the eel hand-roll, Passion Roll, and Japanese orange soda drink. The eel was DELICIOUS, but its seaweed wrap was rubber tough. I had to gnaw it, using my canines to rip through one bite. The Passion Roll was pretty, but largely flavorless. And that soda was super weird. It tasted like your garden variety orange soda, but popping the top was an involved experience of removing the piercing mechanism, placing it on top and pressing down to break the seal. Inside the tube was a little ball that stopped the flow of soda if you tipped it too far. It was an inconvenient scene for someone just wanting to drink some soda. Instructions for how to perform the opening task were written on the side in Japanese. My friend said this place rocked. But I was wholly unimpressed. 3 stars because I'm kind-hearted. read more

We ordered take out from here and it took almost an hour to arrive. The food was packaged nicely. We tried the chicken hibachi which came with rice, shrimp tempura rolls , Christmas tree roll, crab salad and crunchy roll. It was all good and ingredients seemed fresh in the rolls. We loved the veggies in the hibachi which included onion, broccoli, carrots and squash. Other than the long wait time all was well. read more

Good food of what I had. I only had the beef shank ramen and the pork bao buns. Both of which were very good. One criticism on both. The ramen was just warm, and the bao could have used texture (pickled veg) or sauce. Still good! Waitress was very attentive, and the food came out in a reasonable time, though still not open long and not too busy. The place itself is beautiful. Nice new center near Fujifilm. Oakview commons. Most everything is still under construction, but the bar is amazing and the staff wears kimonoesque shirts. Nice read more

Came here to try the Ramen. I ordered the Tonkotsu with extra chashu. Overall, the Ramen tasted okay, i loved the chashu but the broth was sweeter than it should be and the noodles were soggy and soft, I prefer firm ramen noodles. read more

Decided to try this new place in Town. Was greeted at door and seated immediately. The menu has lots of choices starting with beverages and starters. We did order fried calamari. After wading thru the menu we ordered Meat Lover Ramen and Seafood Ramen. Calamari was well prepared and came with a dipping sauce which was good. The Ramen bowls are large and taste good. They have a full bar to order from with several foreign beers as well to choose. Very modern decor which got a little loud at times. Could use a little more acoustics. Arita is the newest Japanese restaurant in Holly Springs. My friend and I dined in for lunch at the bar and had a good experience. I started off with a beer and she ordered a moscow mule. For starters we split the crab rangoons and gyoza. I liked that they had lunch specials so I went with the hibachi chicken with steamed rice. All of the food was really tasty. I tried this place a few weeks after they opened and our waiter was on his first day without any form of training, so the service could have been better. This was certainly not his fault, but I did feel for him being thrown into the job alone on the first day. The food was pretty good; however, I've had much better in the area so I likely won't choose Arita over the other businesses, but it was still a good place local to Holly Springs! read more

Beautiful restaurant in a nice modern shopping center, the bright yet sleek decor makes it feel alive and comfy, great outdoor seating, i the love the option of siting at the sushi bar or drink bar (I chose booth by window!) Their signature rolls are honestly astounding i want to try them all. I started with Rainbow Unagi which the server told me was also her favorite, it has 4 fishes including my fav RED SNAPPER. I also for sushi i started with the Triangle Roll, and the chicken tempura handroll. I also had a goyza and beef boa bun appetizer. I can not wait to try the sunset roll, sushi tower, hibachi, chicken katsu, and Ikura flying fish roe I am in awe of this meal from presentation to taste... wow. Extremely Unsafe for Anyone with Allergies I went to this brand new sushi restaurant excited to try it, but it turned into one of the worst, very dangerous experience!! When I sat down, I told the waitress very clearly that I have a severe shellfish allergy. Despite this, I was served a sushi roll that contained crab. After taking a bite, my mouth started feeling numb, and when I took the roll apart, I found actual crab inside. When I waved the waitress over, she didn't seem surprised at all. She just asked if I wanted a different roll, and when I asked why they gave me crab after I'd told them about my allergy, she said, "Oh, it's imitation crab anyway." That's not acceptable, imitation crab still contains shellfish and can trigger the same allergic reaction. Someone who appeared to be the owner came over but didn't speak any English. He asked me to point at the roll to not be charged for it, then just disappeared. The waitress never came back after that, except to bring the bill. We ended up sitting there for a bit. During that time, I noticed the service was completely untrained--mostly young staff who clearly haven't been taught proper safety or basic restaurant service. Other issues: * The waitress didn't understand how to split the bill, even though we didn't share food. * The bathroom was dirty, which is shocking for a brand-new restaurant. * The sushi itself wasn't even good--the fish didn't taste fresh. It's now 8:47 PM, and my mouth and tongue are still numb. I'm honestly just thankful it wasn't worse. This place is dangerous if you have any kind of food allergy, and the staff clearly have no idea what they're doing. Didn't snap any pics but have no fear, I plan to go back very soon and I will be sure to take some. This place is super modern and has a cute bar. The lunch menu is pretty amazing. We got a bento box which includes seaweed salad, miso soup, 2 dumplings, 4 pieces of California roll, and a whole specialty roll of your choice for like $17. That's a great deal. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The menu has many items if you are not a sushi fan and still want to try it out. The staff was very attentive and friendly as well. read more

Arita sits in a fancy-looking new development and its interior matches that aesthetic. Upon entering, I experienced service that overall reflected a lack of experience / professionalism. When I ordered tea, the teacup was forgotten. Additionally, I was not allowed to taste a sake that was orderable by the glass, meaning they likely already had a bottle open. Their explanation confused me, as they said they pre-pour their sake glasses?? Yikes. The food was pretty tasty! I enjoyed the geisha roll, and while I appreciated the crunchiness of the tempura, I found that its proportion dominated the flavor of the roll and prevented me from enjoying the flavor and texture of the fish & eel. The salad was delicious, but I found the avocado slices far too large for my preference. The portion was good, just cut it a bit more! Overall I had a good experience and I hope that given some more time, these small links are worked out. read more

Second time in, first time around the first weeks of opening, both times it was not good. Today we received half of the table's food while the other half did not receive food for 20 mins. I asked for the manager, and the person who claimed to be the manager clearly is not skilled in leadership or customer service. She tried to blame the server, and from what I can tell, she clearly reprimanded our server. She was literally offended when I said I didn't want a free dessert or anything free - just trying to highlight a clear and repeated issue here. I felt so bad for the server, and the environment she has to work in, that I left a big tip for her at least. The issue is the kitchens - they are not ready for prime time. The 2 large orders of sushi / nigiri were filled with HOT sushi rice. The hibachi was sweet and sticky. Will not be returning. read more

We tried Arita for dinner with friends on 11/22. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was fun and our server, Alivia was awesome! We had a mix of Sushi rolls, Ramen and Katsu. All were yummy. Pricing was about normal for Asian Fusion. This is our new favorite Sushi place. We will be back! 10/10 every time I come here, I literally never get tired of this place! The lighting and art are beautiful and there's a cute little nook to take pictures. The service is always quick, I've never had to wait long for anything. The sushi here is the only reason I've started eating it too, the flavor profiles are perfect to a T. The combo of sweet and savory, gingery and sweet, crunchy and soft, etc. never fail; the ratios are perfect. The food is good. Surprisingly one of the better ramen I've had even compared to most places in Raleigh. Their fish quality is also quite nice. The waiting staff was very attentive when we came. I don't personally care for alcohol much and they don't have a liquor license yet but are working on it. Doesn't deserve down votes for that. It's in a nice plaza deep in the suburbs so the ambience is also great. Keep up the great work - will be a regular. read more

We ordered takeout from here. The teriyaki, dynamite roll, and gyoza were so good!! However the Yakisoba unfortunately left something to be desired. It was overwhelmingly fishy. Understand these dishes have fish sauce, but it was do overwhelmingly fish. The portions were also really small for the price, at least for take out. read more

Came here with my family expecting a nice dinner and left frustrated and hungry. We were seated at 6:20 PM and didn't receive our appetizer until 7:30, while nearly every table around us was getting their food promptly. Our server told us it was his first day, and the only other person working the nearby section was also overloaded. Each of them had five or more tables and were clearly completely overwhelmed. This is not their fault--it's a management failure. We never received utensils, never got a water refill, and after waiting endlessly we finally asked to cancel our dinner order and close out. Even that took another 15 minutes. We walked out at 8:10 PM having never received dinner. This was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. It's a shame, because the appetizer that eventually arrived actually tasted great--but good food means nothing when the service is this dysfunctional. Whoever is running this operation should be ashamed of how poorly the restaurant is managed. Avoid unless you enjoy wasting two hours and leaving hungry. read more

We were really excited for this spot for its close proximity and because we love ramen. It's pretty middle-of-the road for us, but we are picky with sushi. The ingredients were fresh, but there was just a bit too many things in the rolls masking the sushi, and they were quite loose. We went another time to give it a 2nd try for ramen. I've been twice and the jury is still out on this one. I have not had the sushi (do not like at all anywhere) but have had the hibachi chicken. It has potential, but I have found the vegetables (carrots and broccoli) in the dish just aren't cooked enough - texture still feels raw. Cutting a little thinner could help them cook quicker and take the crunch away. Also, adding some other vegetable variety would be a HUGE plus - like zucchini and mushrooms (cooked well of course). Their website shows zucchini and squash are options, but the times I have ate there, this was not on any menu nor mentioned it was an option. Maybe it has changed as the last time I visited was the first week of Nov. The cocktails I have tried are great and the others on the menu look as though they would be tasty as well. read more

We've eaten in house here a couple times and it was all great. So we tried take out, and had ordered (and was charged for) items that we didn't get. We called... their answer was to come back and they'd give it to us. Well, we are all the way home now, and if we came back, the food that we already have would be cold by the time we got back. No option to refund what we didn't get. They were still new, gave them grace, so tried take out again and AGAIN paid for food that wasn't included in the bag, and sauces that should have been included not there either. So NOPE. Not paying that kind of money for take out when they can't even care enough to get the order complete. read more
