There are two reasons I gave one more star than this place deserves - the staff has always been very friendly and the proximity to my office makes it convenient. Other than that, this place sucks. I've had several bad experiences with the whole- you shouldn't be driving this car until you fix "fill in the blank" and that will cost "$!!!!". Last experience- I took my two year old car in for an oil change and while driving home the car smelled like burnt oil. The smell was very overwhelming. I went back the next day, dropped the car off and the guy said he was so sorry, they'd get it fixed and he'd call me when it was ready (I work across the street). He called me a bit later and seriously tried to give me a quote for how much the repair would cost. WHAT!!?? I couldn't believe my ears. I told him I'd pick up my car in 30 minutes, repaired, and wouldn't pay a penny more than I had the day before for the oil change. And really I should have demanded my money back for the botched oil change. Seriously, go somewhere else. read more

Samir and Amir and the rest of the group are honest nearly to a fault. We were trading in our van when the transmission blew. Dealership ( that failed to check the fluid on the service call a year ago) offered to replace with new for $4500. Samir offered to replaced with used for $2400. We agreed but then received a call from Samir that they were able to get it running enough to trade in for $200. Traded the car in on a new car at the same dealership that failed to check the transmission fluid. That was over two years ago and we have never gone anywhere else. I wanted to share a Christmas story about these wonderful people. I regularly take my car here for maintenance services, car cleaning, and inspections. On the way home from our Christmas travels, my Dog Shelby managed to wedge herself under a back seat in the car. How she managed to fit under there I'll never know! Bottom line was though, I could not pull her out without injuring her. The backseat would have to be removed. So I went directly over to Midway with no appointment to see if they could help us by unbolting the seat from the car floor so that we could get Shelby out. The owner himself worked relentlessly for several hours to remove everything he could to get the seat loose enough for us to pull Shelby out! So grateful for all of his and his staff's efforts. When I asked what I owed them he refused to take any money from me because they love dogs too. So I would like to pay my thanks forward by telling others what great people they are. I had a great experience here on my car and my father-in-law's SUV. We dropped both vehicles off at the same time on a Saturday. I got an oil change and inspection, which they did very fast and for a very fair price. The SUV had smoke coming from the back tires after their drive down from Oklahoma. They towed it in the next day (which I had to pay the tow bill) and attempted to fix over the course of 8 hours. I get oil changes here all the time. Service is good, they clean your car after, inside and out which I really like. They never pressure you to do extra work you don't need but their recommendation to get a tire rotation about 6 months ago saved me from having to buy new tires at the time. I drive up here to come to this shop even though I no longer live in the area. 5th star would have been given if hey updated the lobby, maybe offered beverages or something. Midway Auto Center is amazing! My husband and I were headed home to Blanco TX half way between Austin and San Antonio when we had to exit off the George Bush Turnpike and turned onto Midway Road because our truck started to loose power. We thought it was our battery so we were looking for a place to replace it quickly. My husband saw Midway Auto Center and said we're going there because I don't think we can make it anywhere else. Boy were we lucky. It was already 4:30 pm and they close at 6:00 pm. It ended up being the alternator since the battery didn't just die we lost power. Of course we have a 5.7 engine in our Toyota Tundra for the towing power which makes working on the truck more difficult because there is no room under the hood. We explained we needed to get home this evening because my husband had a very important doctor's appointment early the next morning in Austin TX. The owner was very kind and understanding and they did everything they could to get the alternator and had several guys working late together to get the 5 plus hour job done in under 3 hrs. My husband and I have dealt with many different businesses in our life and it is rare to find someone in a large community that TRULY cares about the customer. We all know that there are a lot of repair shops that would have told us we'll get it fixed tomorrow and locked their doors at 6:00. When I walked in, the young gentlemen was very nice and attentive to all my questions and concerns. I was charged $115 diagnostic fee by "KK" who told to me that i needed a new drive shaft which would cost me an additional $1200. I just recently moved to Dallas and took my car in for an inspection so I can change my state license plate. My car failed the inspection because the tint on the windshield and front windows were too dark. The usual cost of tint removal is $50 - $60. The owner Harry was kind enough to show me and my mom how to remove the tint ourselves so we could do it at home with a steamer. Luckily, the tint peeled off easily and Harry removed it right there saving me $60 and re-inspected my car. He was extremely helpful and friendly. He even went out of his way to explain the process I needed to follow to register my car with a Texas license plate and gave me directions to different tax offices because I wasn't sure which county I live in. He really went above and beyond with the customer service and he was very sincere about wanting to help since I'm new to the area. Waited 2 hours for a oil change/ " free" ac check. First off the ac worked fine and was cold, just through it in as an extra. After the 2 hours of waiting and constant asking when it will be done. I was met with rude responses and horrible customer service. Not only that the free a/c service ended up costing and extra 40$ for freon that wasn't even low in the first place claiming they needed 2 and a half cans. I have been coming here for a while and am aware this place has changed management. Since this time the customer service, car washes and auto center have just gotten worse and worse with each visit. Oil change is 25 bucks (for standard 5 quarts) and they give you a free car wash. And let me tell you, it is not a cheap, water and soap only kind of wash. They actually vacuum the inside and hand dry the outside for you as well. Great deal. Even my rims and tires were shiny. read more

Lazy Scam Artists. These people are awful. I will never return. They had my wife wait over an hour to tell her they were closing soon but needed more time to identify the problem. The whole time 3 mechanics were standing around. Then they proceeded to charge her $89 for "diagnosis". There is a Christian Brothers just south of this place and a Kent Kwick just north of it. No one ever needs to give this place their business. I would give these clowns less than a star but i cant. read more

This place is horrible. I went in for an oil change as soon as they opened and the man at the front desk told me that he recommended an air filter change. I agreed. After about an hour and a half I inquired why it was taking so long. The guy at the front desk said he sent out for an air filter and the person that went to buy it was taking a long time. Why offer a service when you do NOT have the parts. Thirty minutes later, a man shows up and throws a bag onto the counter with the air filter. They offered no acceptable apology and charged me $60 for a standard lil change. I will NEVER GO BACK or recommend his place to anyone. 2 hours for a simple oil change when there is only 1 other customer is ridiculous. read more

I took my car there already knowing that I needed a specific part fixed. They charged $360 for the work. The emissions fuel pressure sensor needed to be replaced that is why my check engine light was on and I could not pass emission check. Well after I shelled out my money the light is still on and the same error code is coming up. I took it back up there and they said they don't know what is wrong, they claimed they replaced the part, They kept my car overnight and the next day, the same thing. So now I am driving around with expired tags, out almost $400 and nothing has changed. Ugh!!! This place is a rip off. read more

I just want to give a HUGE thank you to the folks here. My wife had flat FRONT tire and late for an appointment that was 20 minutes awat. Knowing we had a warranty on her tires, and could not miss her appointment, her immediate need was to get a spare on. Not only did they put on the spare they moved the full back tire to the front so the spare would be on the back which would be safer for her on the tollway, etc..
