    Midway Rest Area, Midway KY

There are two rest areas here - I visited the eastbound one. The westbound is right across the highway but they are not connected. The parking areas and rest area building are quite large - this is a busy highway located between two large Kentucky cities, Louisville and Lexington so they're prepared for lots of traffic. Restrooms were clean and there were some shady spots to park. [Review 17204 overall - 146 in Kentucky - 721 of 2022.]

long day on a short trip means I need a little rest from the drive and this is a good spot for it. plenty of room to roam but you never get too far from the car or lost in the woods or any of that... just a nice little walk about in plain sight in the daylight. grounds and buildings and facilities are tidy and appear well kept. no sign of creepers or other imminent danger, as a matter of fact the most threatening thing I saw recently was the cost to fill up my gas tank.

Very clean, very well-maintained, and lots of grassy areas and picnic tables. The grassy areas are not full of dog poop so either dog owners are being responsible or workers are busy cleaning it up. The grass was so great....stopped to stretch and do some yoga!

Welcome to the cold my friends, if you never been near the cold or pushed through horrible seasons of it. Then this place will be the first for you. Up north when it rains it ices over. Never been skating? This is the place for you.. oh wait I'm making a review for a rest area. But in all seriousness, you will be prepared to skate your way to the warmth of the rest area. Have snow boots, make sure to wear heavy coats and a bomber hat. Got gloves? Even better. Once you get out of your car, grip on to that thing like your life depends on it. Because it does, walk slowly all the way to the grass. Just a couple more steps then you'll reach a dry spot on the sidewalk. But you aren't home free yet. You'll see ice over bushes and a sign that'll probably tell you lobby is closed. Do not fret just yet; follow the signs to a side door. Walk into a warm bathroom, enjoy it. Because when you step back out, you'll be slapped with more cold wind! I would avoid using the vending machines because your card probably won't work since it'll be frozen over. Instead hurry along to your car and if you are planning to sleep over. Find tiny pillows, bags whatever to push against your doors. Cuddle, snuggle with whoever. Because it's going to be a long cold night. I suggest buy this really good before it freezes spray from advance auto or your local auto store. Let me tell you, it's a lifesaver for little o me. Overall, this is a good rest area and it has tight parking so watch where you drive and stay warm out there.

Big area for picnics or your dogs to run around.

Very nice clean rest area with newly constructed buildings and large wooded picnic areas. Plenty of walkways to get the blood moving again.

No complaints here. It's a rest area, so I don't have a ton to say, but this place gets the job done.
