It has some nice green area space for dogs and is memorable for some reason. I have a soft spot for it, maybe because it's spelled wrong on Yelp. Nice and well-kept rest area [Horse Cave KY]…read more This is a rest area? I thought it was a visitor's center. Horse Cave Rest Area off Interstate 65 in Horse Cave KY, right around mile marker 59. It's got northbound and southbound access, which is convenient if you're not sure which way you'll be traveling. We were heading South on our way to Nashville. The grounds are clean and well-maintained. Inside is spacious with benches to rest on each corners. Maps and brochures are available and well stocked. Separately from the restrooms are vending machines and outdoor picnic tables. Pets welcome. On I-65 Mile Marker 60 watch out for a time change because you have just entered the Central Time Zone (not Twilight Zone). They have some nice rest stops on I-65 in Kentucky. My final review in Indiana on this trip was this brief stop at the rest area southbound on I-65…read more this rest area is on I-65 between Indianapolis and Louisville and instead of the coffee that kicked in, there was a (single) beer and at least three glasses of water from St. Elmo Steak House https://www.yelp.com/biz/st-elmo-steak-house-indianapolis-3?hrid=mP8N9e1dK0OKBjbrijPbbQ that were making themselves known. Like others in Indiana, it was clean from litter and bathrooms were decent. There are vending machines and picnic tables. Easy access from the interstate with a sweeping turn that would slow people down as they enter. The shape of the center lends itself to shade trees for cars (not so much the truck parking) if you were thinking of a brief siesta before continuing onwards.
