I have health issues and diagnosed with sleep apnea. Sent by pulmonologist to check on mouth piece for sleep apnea, but was concerned about xrays. I was told minimal radiation. When i arrived I asked if I could speak with Dr to see if good candidate, as I was told by my Dr to minimize xrays she told me they needed the xrays first. Then they did a CT SCAN and dental xrays. They then did a scan of my teeth to measure for piece. Then the Dr came in, and wanted me to put a credit card on file so they could bill me and I was to file claim and be reimbursed by medicare. The appliance was $6,977.00. I refused and told them it all needed to be pre approved by Medicare. She took out a tiny ruler and measured my bite and told me I was not a good candidate. For-this they billed me my deductible and I received a bill for $217.00. The remainder of the $500 fee for xrays and exam. I received emails and voice mails, many. I contacted Medicare and they stated this was paid. I contacted Midwest Dental and they said I did not owe them and they were fighting with Medicare. (Good thing I had not qualified for the mouth appliance or that I had not put my credit card on file.) This was the Barrington location. Just check around and be your own advocate. I went through a CT Scan and xrays for naught! And with that said, and after speaking with my Dentist, I am not sure the mouth appliance was a $7000 value. It is made to change your bite and could cause dental issues. read more

From the first phone call they were helpful and professional. Checked my insurance, all initial paperwork conveniently done online as well S the first appointment (Telehealth). 2nd appointment at the office it was pleasant. They explain each step, the office staff professional and warm, and I was impressed with the equipment, technology, and cleanliness. Have had to ask explicitly to talk to the doctor and staff pushes back. After completing a sleep study with my oral appliance, I didn't even speak with the doctor. Device broke a couple of months after use and have called scheduling 5+ times but no one answers. They need to improve their quality of service. They are consistently difficult to work with. read more

Everyone at the Skokie office is kind and competent. I did have to wait about 20 minutes for an open exam room, though. Also, you have to go through a central phone system with lots of prompts and screens. I wanted to let the Skokie office I might be a few minutes late. Not possible. My complaint is about the billing process. Was told payment was due at time of service, but was not told what that payment amount would be, so I assumed my insurance would be billed. Not an outrageous assumption to make considering the hospital that referred me to Midwest Dental has always billed me or let me know exactly how much I was expected to pay well before the date of service. Had to jump through a lot of hoops to secure my appointment, and all the info needed to tell me what I owed (insurance) and to validate who I am (state ID) was available well before my appointment. I'm very pleased with the apnea treatment dental device from Midwest Dental Sleep Center. After being diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea, I did not want a CPAP machine. I'm a light sleeper and sensitive to noise. I wear the device every night and now my sleep is very much improved. I feel more rested and get sounder sleep. MDSC staff have been very helpful throughout the process, the initial tests & exrays and excellent follow up. read more

I was very impressed with the office environment, the professionalism of the staff the "state of the art" dental measuring/imaging equipment and Dr. Wallace's knowledge, skills and expertise. The staff explained the process very clearly and presented the treatment plan with my portion of the fees. Dr. Wallace explained the measurements he was taking and the design and fabrication of the two different types of oral appliances. I can now understand why there is a wait for appointments.
