Miega is one of our favorite restaurants in Cleveland. My husband and I have been going here for a while, and when our baby was a month old, we brought her to Miega as well. The food is fantastic and is family-restaurant style. While it might not be super flashy and trendy, it doesn't need to be. The food speaks for itself! You cannot go wrong with any dish on the menu, to be honest. While I have a seafood allergy, our many friends and family members that have tried a larger section of the menu have raved about it! My favorites are the japchae and the dol sot bibimbop. I like to add a good helping of gochujang to mine, and I also add some ssamjang to add a little extra to it (sometimes they'll bring out lettuce for some ssam as well!). My husband has tried many of the dishes, but his absolute favorite is the jjajangmyeon. Our toddler enjoys the bits and pieces from our various meals, and also likes the kimbap (she's still figuring out how to eat the seaweed wrapper, but does good work with the interior filling). I will admit that we have not done the KBBQ at Miega, but we've seen the bbq tables filled regularly and the food looks amazing! The staff members are incredibly friendly and kind, and our toddler loves seeing and interacting with them. They are very baby friendly and welcoming! Miega is one of our favorite restaurants and we try to tell everyone about it when they are looking for something new to try. From the incredibly warm and welcoming staff to the truly delicious food, we hope to keep going to Miega for many years to come. Seems like one if the handful of Korean residents in Cleveland. This one is on the second floor of the plaza. They've got two table options: bbq option seating and non bbq seating. Nice and brightly lite place. Got the kpop mv going on in the background. Got the service button on the table. Got Korean deco going on. I had the galbi tang and translate fried chicken in honey garlic. Wings came out first, piping hot. They give you plastic gloves to use do you fingers aren't sticky, which is awesome. Wings have a nice crunch to them and very juicy on the inside. There was about 8 pieces a mix of drums and flats. The flavor was a bit subtle, did not taste any garlic just honey. Galbi tang came out slot with like 7 ban chan. Also pipping hot. Got three pieces of galbi on the bone. Some glass noodles, bit of veg, and egg drop the soup. Came with a bowl of rice too. They don't have the purple rice option or I didn't see it in the menu. But regardless, galbi tang was delicious. Kinda wish the side dishes were a bit better, kimchi and the radish kimchi was okay. Def a spot I'd come again to try the rest od their menu. Friend got their jajaiangmien, looked pretty good. Their bbq option is a small menu and requires two orders minimum. Back after a few years. Got the jja jang myeon noodles. Noodles with pork, veggies, and a black bean sauce. Kimchi, and other pickled veggies given to complement the main dish. Noodles were fresh cooked aldente. Pork and thick black bean sauce was savory and filling. Service was fast and friendly. Looking for an authentic feeling Korean BBQ? Miega's your spot!! We went for lunch on a rainy Saturday and ordered the Set 1, which includes Miega Set 1 - LA galbi, beef bulgogi, shrimp ($69.95). So much food, definitely could be for 3 people! The LA galbi was a bit tough, but the flavor was great! Lettuce wrapped the meat made me feel not as heavy, which is a great idea. I visited for the first time in April 2023 with a friend who had previously visited. We came for dinner and I remember that I was so hungry before arriving. FOOD -- In April 2023, I ordered the S9 on the menu which is the Bulgogi Dol Sot Bi Bim Bob. This is a Rice and Beef dish with Vegetables ($14.95). It had lots of good flavour because of the mixture of seasoned meat and vegetables. My friend and I shared the A1 on the menu which is the Gun Man Du (deep fried pork dumplings) -- $8.95 for 6 pieces. I don't eat pork often yet I enjoyed the dumplings because it was crispy and tasty. We dipped it into soy sauce. Our main course meal came with a bunch of side dishes (called banchan) that are meant to be shared. This is typical in Korean restaurants. All the 6 side dishes were served cold as they often are but this wasn't a problem because I ate them with my warm rice bowl. I enjoyed the side dishes. My favourites were the little potatoes and kimchi. Still one of the best place in town for KBBQ. While it's on the pricier side, it's worth the splurge. This place is located on the second floor of the building, right next to the dance studio. Food is good and the service was decent for a 1 server. Food portion were very generous with free refills of banchan (side dishes) upon request. The table ordered the combo 2 meat set and requested to swap one of the meat to LA Galbi. We also didn't mind the extra charge for the change. Server was very friendly and helpful. He even made recommendations to pair some of the meat with certain banchan for a more robust flavor. In terms of the deco, it doesn't really change even after 7-8 years. read more

Miega is one of the best Korean bbqs in the US that we have tried. You are hit with the smell of delicious grilled meat once you walk in, and it feels like you've been transported to Korea itself. Only half the restaurant is set for kbbq (so reservation is recommended). The other half are regular tables that serve their 'regular' entrees. We tried honey garlic wings to start and loved everything about them. Also the fact that they give you gloves to eat the wings is a plus. For the bbq, we tried LA Galbi, Pork belly (Sam gyeop sal), thin sliced spicy pork and beef boneless ribeye. You can tell that they serve high quality meat. LA galbi and ribeye were my favorite. Our server was exceptional. He cooked the meat for us and suggested the best way to enjoy each cut of meat. Their soft tofu soup and steamed egg go well with the bbq, along with the extensive banchan side dishes they provided. Honestly so impressed with this place. The food was so good, and they did an amazing job accommodating our large party without any issues. Everything came out quickly, hot, and fresh -- which is not easy when you're serving a big group. We were visiting and had a hard time finding truly good food in Cleveland, but this spot absolutely delivered. Great service, great food, and a smooth experience overall. The food is always good but service the past 2 times has left us feeling not that great. We arrived this evening and the hostess/server seemed bothered and irritated to have to help us, I saw the eye roll when we walked in.It felt really rushed without genuine good service. I don't know if they were short staffed or what but the menus and place settings were thrown on the table so quickly and aggressively. When we were placing our order she just had this nasty-nice sarcastic attitude. I don't want to be treated that way and we're not going there anymore. Not out of spite but because my family deserves better. I regret not speaking up in the moment, which is why I'm writing this review. read more

This is a great place for Korean BBQ. The food was excellent. We had bulgogi, kalbi and another meat and there was plenty of meat for 5 people. Plus kimbap and tteokbeoki. Both were delicious. For dessert we also had the Miega and Mango bingsus which were such a wonderful treat at the end. The service was also fantastic. They were constantly checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed (enough water, sides, lettuce) and asked if we had any questions. So I just went with my family to this restaurant this past weekend. I had to post a review because the service was HORRIBLE. The food was delicious however our waitress Christie was not attentive, professional or kind. We had to constantly ask for napkins and refill of the water jars. At one point, all of our meals came out except one person's food. He waited for nearly 30 minutes for his food and he was still eating when we were finished. We asked for the owner but was told that she's 70 years old and doesn't speak English. No one ever apologized for the food coming out late or even gave a reason why until asked. The reason given was that the "old woman" is slow and she cooked the food. This was so disturbing. So with that being said, we will not return again. This place has excellent food, generous portions, and very friendly service. The quality was on par with what I'm used to in Northern NJ, where there is a much larger Korean population. Ate here twice in a week and the lunch boxes are a great deal on weekdays. Also tried the tofu soup, kalbi tang and jjajang. Miega has some of the best Korean food in Cleveland. We often make an out-of-the-way trip here for their authentic cuisine. Yesterday's service was below average. The waitress was incredibly rude and told our table that we needed to purchase additional bbq portions for our party size. Our party was taken back as we often order the same thing at our regular visits. She then told us rice would not be given for 3 of the party members (we were a party of 6, and ordered 3 meats for bbq). This was also unusual, we ordered an additional bbq meat and was then told she would take care of us with rice for the whole party. Once the bbq came out, it was clear that our original order would have been sufficient. Because we were a party of 6, we were not allowed to split the bill, and 20% gratuity was automatically added on the bill. This experience was unusual for Miega. We will try the spot again to see if the service is the same in the future, but will also now be considering other restaurants in the area. read more

However, the environment was extremely Smokey for Korean BBQ typically the smoke is maintained by having vents or fans above the grilling stations. The air felt very heavy with smoke I hope the workers are alright working in that environment long term. Otherwise the utensils were all metal and the barbecue had the bon chon! We got the KBBQ experience here, ordering the LA Galbi (my favorite) and the brisket/Chadol (my sister's favorite). My sister doesn't even typically like Galbi but she was saying how juicy and delicious it was here. The service was lovely! This was my 3rd or 4th time here and the servers are always so friendly. We order the soybean stew and steamed egg as well. We got all the amazing korean side dishes. They had this braised potato and an acorn jelly type dish that really brought me to my childhood, very nostalgic. The grills work well and the staff are always happy to change your grill if you desire a clean one between cooking different meats. The price is reasonable and the location is nice, as you can always stroll the small asian grocery store downstairs.
