Decor is so cute here and love the vibes! Our server was super professional and so nice. Food was good but my tacos were a bit soggy and took ~30 minutes to come out. (Three hours at the restaurant to order one round of drinks and to eat.) For the tacos, I did ask for no crispy cheese- so maybe that's why they were soggy. I do wish it came with more toppings, but it was just pickled onion and a tiny bit of cilantro. The side of beans was also like 7 beans, so I wish there was way more. Great amount of meat though! Also, I missed the entrance because it's right next to a giant POMO sign. I would recommend a standing sign (maybe an a-frame?) that makes the entrance super obvious. Bathroom also needs a bit of help. (Supply stocking, cleaning, and fixing the wall patchiness.) Overall, I would definitely come back! I would just maybe try ordering something else. read more

Not sure what her position was, however she was in white so assuming management or bartender? But I asked to get through to the paper towels because the paper towel holder wasn't scanning. She said, "they're right in front of you" very rudely. The last place I would've guessed them to be was on the wet sink. On top of that, the bathroom sink was piled up with used paper towels. I really have been wanting to try this place for a while, and so glad we finally gave it a go. Parking can be tough especially on evening weekends so plan ahead! This fun & upbeat restaurant is an amazing spot for food, drink & getting your dance on! On weekends, they start with a DJ during dinner then live music and a dance floor. We started off with the chicharron and it was BOMB. Crispy, crunchy, limey with a kick of salt it was perfection. For dinner I had the bacanora tacos with bone marrow on the side. My entree was amazing the tacos come with bacon wrapped shrimp, and a variety of toppings. Everything was delicious and our server was great. Only complaint is that we had no reservations. I looked online prior to arriving & it showed plenty of availability, even though the hostess informed me there was nothing available the rest of the night. So I took it upon myself to book a reservation online right then & there and we were then seated within ten minutes. Great experience but not quite perfect. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The ambiance is really fun but also really LOUD. So many places are so loud you can barely talk to the people at your table! We ordered chips and salsa and guacamole. The guacamole is fine, nothing standout but good and also enormous. Even with 6 of us we had so much leftover. It also didn't seem to come with many chips. The salsa is thin, smoky, and hot. I loved it! The chips are quite thick. I prefer thinner chips but that's OK. Chips and salsa also come with a small side of beans which weren't exciting. The drinks are very high priced. The only margarita was $17 and was just a pretty small margarita that was very sweet. I'd skip it next time. I got the birria tacos and they were fabulous! So meaty and tender. This also comes with the kinda boring little cup of beans, a small cup of broth which wasn't very flavorful, and a hot oil of some sort. The meat was so juicy you didn't really need broth but I did dip them in the delicious salsa! Also ordered at our table were the bacanora pasta and bacanora tacos, which are both with bacon-wrapped shrimp. Everyone who got these loved them! We chose Miel de Agave to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and while the vibe was nice, the overall experience left a bit to be desired. We started with appetizers calamari and pork belly. Both were just okay not bad, but nothing memorable either. Things went downhill a bit when our main dishes were brought out incorrectly twice. We ended up keeping one of the wrong dishes just to avoid waiting even longer. We ordered the carne asada and the pasta carbonara. Unfortunately, the steak came out overcooked (we asked for medium rare), and the shrimp on the pasta were overdone as well. The burger we received (not the one we ordered) was actually good, which was a small win. The potato tacos and tuna were just okay nothing stood out. Service was friendly but very slow. Our server was sweet and clearly doing her best, but the wait times and mix-ups were frustrating, especially for a special occasion. Overall, Miel de Agave wasn't terrible, but it wasn't impressive either. There's potential here, but our experience didn't quite live up to the expectations. read more

Steak ordered medium rare was cooked perfectly for both entrees - this isn't always the case, even at the high-end steakhouses. Too often restaurants teeter on the medium/medium rare line, but Miel de Agave cooked it with precision and provided a perfect medium rare. The four of us enjoyed the pork belly chicharone-crispy yet tender and succulent cubes of deliciousness, served with a guacamole cream; the ribeye aguachile was fantastic with sliced medium rare ribeye dressed with a light salsa. Three diners enjoyed the queso birria tacos-corn tortillas stuffed with unctuous beef and a cheese melted and crispy. The tacos were served with consommé and a fiery salsa for dipping. The green chile enchiladas got a thumbs up from fourth diner. Great cocktail menu as well as a nice selection of beers on tap and bottled. Service was attentive and accommodating. Restaurant was very nice. Ambiance was nice. Drinks before meal were great. Food was excellent and Jorge was a fabulous waiter.

Overall I had a fine experience here, but I'm going to be a bit of a stickler as this is a premium price point. The atmosphere and vibe is lovely and the location is great. The food and cocktails were expertly crafted and I've never received an order of guac more quickly in my life. That being said, everything felt like it was maybe $10-$15 above the price I wished it was for what you got. The enchiladas were great but $33 for two enchiladas and a tiny salad in a bowl is a bit steep. Likewise my wife got the baconara tacos and for $20 it was literally two tacos that were ok. The birria short rib was delightful but came with a $75 price tag as well. Lastly, while I'm not trying to be the fun police here there were times when I'd have loved my waiter to come by for another drink or to check on the tacos which came out later than all the other dishes and the waitstaff was kind of just gathered in the middle of the restaurant, in view of all the patrons, horsing around. I've worked waitstaff jobs and that's half the fun, but in plain view probably isn't the place to do it at a restaurant of this price point. TL;DR - if the menu prices don't raise an eyebrow for you go, you'll have a fine time. If the prices are in special occasion territory for you I honestly feel you can have a better overall experience elsewhere at this price point. ------------------- Nothing against this establishment at all, I wish them the best but I do think they have a few opportunities to elevate the experience to better match the premium nature of the menu. read more

BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. Had a reservation at 8:30 got there at 8:25 but had to wait in a line to see the hostess for 20mins . When we got to the front we were told out reservation expired . However mind you we were told we had to wait in that line . They turned us away. The hostess was so rude and off putting. Said "we have a grace period for a reason" and now it's an hour wait. Even after explaining we have been present this whole time . Made the reservation for my anniversary and I will never be returning I can promise that. Overall, a great tasty food place downtown! I came here with some coworkers and sat outside - the outside seating area is very nice and shaded (though we came on a day it was raining and the sides are not protected for the rare rainy day). There were also large tv screens around - so if you wanted to keep track of any games, you could. The wait staff were incredibly friendly - though we did find it weird that when we first sat down, they asked to take a picture of us. Our waitress recommended the Chichen-Itza drink, which I found excellent. I then ordered the Chicharron burger, which was incredible. One of the best burgers I've had. The chicharron added an excellent juicy flavor and perfectly chewy texture to the burger. The sauce and additional accompaniments also added to the burger - you could taste it but it wasn't overwhelming, allowing the chicharrones to be the star of the show. The fry sauce was also excellent. I do wish the menu had mentioned fries would be included (I did not realize they would) - and mentioned an option to replace with a salad, but that's a minor nitpick. A coworker ordered the sonora tacos - and found that it was good and plentiful food. I would highly recommend this burger and drink to anyone who comes here. Overall, a great experience! read more

Went in early in the week around five and the hostess made it seem like a party of three might be tough even though most of the restaurant was empty. We sat down and ordered drinks, two of which, including all house margarita, were served as incorrect drinks. Then we were asked if we would take a photograph for the restaurant. We politely declined, and were asked if we might change our mind. The food itself was fine. I had the quesabirria and the ribeye agua chile. They were good, but extremely overpriced and oversold. The waiter said it was unlikely for one person to finish the quesabirria, which I felt was easily within a normal portion. The meal came out to roughly $60 per person for one appetizers, three drinks, and three entrees. For the service, uncomfortable atmosphere, and quality of the food, I am unlikely to return. read more
