I had been craving Mighty-O Donuts foreverrr (love the Mini Cinnamon & Sugar Donuts) and finally plucked up the courage to go pick up a couple for myself! Plus one for my mom of course. Note: I'm nearly 30, not 12 ha. I arrived after 11 on a sunny weekend in May. Surprisingly there were only a couple guests waiting in front of me, so the line moved fairly quickly. I went with the French Toast Donut (spiced caked donut with maple glaze) and the Good Ol' Glazed Vanilla Cake Donut. My mom had been slightly obsessing over the idea of the Raspberry Donut, so I snagged one of those for her! They seemed to have a decent variety available at the time. 3 donuts plus tip came to about $12... pretty standard for Seattle food. There was some outdoor seating and the small space was open to the sidewalk for a nice covid-friendly breeze. The donut peeps behind the counter were friendly enough. It's hard not to be when you're breathing in sugar. Mhmmm I took my donuts home and proceeded to chow down on the French Toast. To be honest I was slightly disappointed... it was a little drier than I remember the Cini Minis being, plus there was an over abundance of cinnamon sprinkled on top. 7/7/2019 Mighty-O has superb vegan/plant based donuts that you don't need to be following a special diet to enjoy, the whole family will want to stuff the quality sugary goodness into their cake(erm donut) holes. The staff at this particular location are always professional,warm, and welcoming while maintaining a relaxed and kicked back atmosphere. Whoever made my soy milk latte this morning made it nice and foamy, just the way I like, and even made a cute little design on top. I ordered the Monthly/Seasonal Donut the "Blueberry Monster"(you can find out the monthly donut on Might-O's FB page) and the "Raspberry Riot". "Blueberry Monster": 3.5/5 stars, great cake donut base,kind of skimpy on the glaze(also not a strong blueberry flavor which was honestly a bit disappointing), inside of donut was a weird blue color(maybe it had some blended blueberries baked in or food dye?),smaller than the regular cake style donuts which contradicts the "monster" in the title, overall tasty but I wouldn't personally order again the flavor was lacking. "Raspberry Riot": 5/5 stars,beautiful vanilla cake donut base, great ratio of glaze to donut, very aesthetically pleasing to look at(will probably gain some hearts on your Insta account), very fresh and bright tasting thanks to the great concentration of real raspberries used in the glaze, I would go as far as to proclaim this one of my favorites at Mighty-O the balance of flavors are heavenly and work so well. Cons: Mighty-O regularly sells out of their Jam-O's and filled donuts, I always miss out and I'm bummed because I have been wanting to try them for over a year now. A kind employee told me today that you can actually call ahead early in the morning and reserve them, so I will definitely be doing so next time a sugar craving hits. The tables and chairs are regularly covered in crumbs and sprinkles, they were not sticky this time but they sometimes are. There really are not many cons to this place, I implore you to try it out! Oh and on a more personal note I am a type 1 diabetic and one of the most frustrating parts of eating out(and why I don't do it often) is because I have to take insulin for any carbs I eat. As you can imagine most sit down restaurants do not have readily available nutrition info and asking for every single ingredient used to make a meal and the exact amount can be an impossible task for a busy restaurant. Overall, Mighty-O rounds up to 3.5 stars. For vegan donuts, these are actually pretty good! I saw the good reviews and then realized that this place is vegan! At first I was skeptical since I tend to love my butter, eggs, and milk to make sweet goodies. I've never had a vegan donut before so I was pretty excited to try. The place has some tables inside as well as some tables outside. The donuts are all decently priced around 1.50-2.50 depending on the kind. If you come after 4 pm, the donuts are reduced in price! There were more than 8 flavors to choose from when my partner and I came by so we decided to go for the nutty French toast and the chocolate glazed. We also took a vanilla glazed home with us. I ordered a chai tea latte to go with my donuts. Nutty French toast - I loved the peanuts on top of this! They didn't skimp on the rolled nuts and I liked the added flavor and texture. The actual donut itself was surprisingly soft and cakey inside. These donuts are on the denser side so if you're looking for pockets of fluff and air, you probably won't find it in a vegan donut. However, I didn't find the denseness to be overly heavy, but I was satisfied after having half of two donuts. This one had a nice cinnamon, nutty flavor to it and the glaze wasn't overly sweet. The donut itself actually didn't have an "it's too sweet my stomach hurts" kind of feel, so I enjoyed that aspect. Chocolate glaze - I liked how this donut also wasn't overly sweet. But this donut did lack the rich chocolate flavor. I don't even think I got a chocolate flavor when I bit into this one. If you're a chocolate lover, this will probably disappoint you. It's way too subtle. This has the same soft, cakey but slightly dense inside as the previous. Vanilla glaze - You would think that since the others didn't have an overly sweet taste to them, that this one would follow suit. However, this donut was much sweeter than the other two. I couldn't eat much of this one because I was feeling sweetened out. The glaze seemed sweeter as well as the donut. It did have a nice vanilla flavor to it though and was still soft and cakey. Chai tea latte - Not a huge fan of the chai tea latte, but this place specializes in donuts, not coffee and tea. It's rare for me to say, but this chai was not sweet enough. I actually wanted it to have a bit more sugar to combine the flavors better. I got more of a bitter spice flavor. The pricing seems fair and standard. We paid less than $10 for it all. For vegan donuts, these were good. The people are nice and patient and let you sample whichever one you want. I think I may stick to regular donuts unless I'm craving something a bit more dense. read more

If I recall correctly, this is probably the first place I ever tried VEGAN doughnuts. I heard a lot of rumors back in the day saying vegan doughnuts are dry and hard... and tasteless. I've tried their Grasshopper which at first I was hesitant after the guy told me it was a chocolate doughnut with peppermint glaze... because I'm not too big of a fan with peppermint nor chocolate but once in awhile, I like to try new things. Ever since I moved from Canada I've been mystified by Seattle's lack of doughnut availability. Top Pot doughnuts are too dry and stiff while Krispy Kreme donuts dissolve my teeth. I've always been a fan of the soft Tim Horton's donuts but Mighty-O is just on a class of its own. Hands down the Best Doughnut I have EVER had, and situated where it is, it is Wallingford's best kept secret along with neighbouring Tangletown and and Kisaku. The Chocolate Top donut that I had had an amazing crispiness on the outside which, once bit into unleashed a flavourful sweetness from within. It was still cakey like Top Pot but not at all dry.
