Sonrisa Donuts are hands down the best donuts I've ever had. The donuts they make are brioche style donuts so they are filled with all types of unique flavors she creates. Whenever Sonrisa is at the Ruston Waterfront, I make sure to pre-order a box. Today we pre-ordered and purchased a box with these flavors- strawberry tiramisu, chocolate fudge, passion fruit cream cheese, mulberry matcha and vanilla custard. As always every custard filled donut blows your mind in flavor!! I follow them on Instagram so I know where their next pop up will be!

These donuts are definitely made with love. I love the popup concept of their store. Because of the small batch size, you know the quality will be great. Indeed they are, the dough is bread-like, instead of cake-like, and it is one of the lightest we have tried. The fillings were definitely smooth and very light, not sweet at all, very delicate. They were all equally pleasant. With the chef being super friendly, it added to the enjoyment.

Incredible donuts! They are so soft and doughy with delicious filling. I hope to try more flavors next time!

This isn't a café or a bakery. They have an "IG" page were they announce were their going to be setting their stall. Their insta page plus vloggers have flooded their page with the pics and video's of visually pleasing donuts. Lets just say that I was one of the ones you got fooled. We visited them when they had set up their stall at "Seattle fish Guys". The time mentioned on their page was from 11:00am, it was a cold rainy day, first they set everything in the store and then they decided to or were told to set it outside, which took 1/2hr standing in that cold breeze. But I was dedicated seeing the pics on gram plus a customer behind me had a pack of donuts pre ordered plus got in the line to get more, I was like ok must be that good. You can only order 5 donuts. So we got their:- 2 Chocolate Abuelita:- Cold Dense donuts with chocolate cream. The chocolate flavor tasted like the ones you get from Asian market. 2 thai Milk Tea:- Cold dense doughnut with awful cream 1 Pandan Kaya:- Cold dense doughnut with Pandan cream. The cream tasted awesome. We paid a total of $30 for 5 small cold dense doughnuts. In a nutshell, overly priced and overly hyped.

I loved my donuts from Sonrisa! I drove all the way from the Eastside to the pop-up in Ballard and arrived around 2:30. There was no line and pick up was super easy once I found the booth tucked in the back of the brewery (I wish there were small signs outside to confirm the location and direction once inside). These donuts were so soft and pillowy, and the cream to dough ratio inside was perfect. Of all the flavors, Thai milk tea was the weakest (still yummy though) and birthday cake was my favorite

Left to right: Strawberry Chocolate Cake, Mochi Brown Sugar with Sea Salt Crema, and 2 Butterscotch Caramelized Banana

After seeing Sonrisa on Instagram for months, I was excited to finally attend a pop up on a day I had free! I attended at Coffeeholic House in Greenwood and the Menu was: Butterscotch Caramelized Banana, Strawberry Chocolate Cake, Mochi Brown Sugar, and Passion Fruit. Everyone was happy to wait in the line, and the business owner was extremely kind. The donuts were beautiful as they always look online, but I was overall very disappointed. Flavor-wise, the donuts are lacking a lot. The fillings are so subtle that you end up tasting the oil flavor the donuts were fried in, which should never be the case. Since brioche donuts have no frosting, the fillings need to pack a punch and these all fell flat for me (especially the brown sugar mochi donut which had no filling). But worse that that was the donuts were very dry, with the filling not being enough to counteract the amount of dry dough. The Mochi Brown Sugar came with a small pot of sea salt crema to dip in, but even then it was still a lot of overly dry donut without enough moisture. I LOVE brioche donuts, so the issue is not with the type of donut but the amount of frying time and the storage of the donuts. They all seemed stale, which I suspect is because they are stored in open bins throughout the pop up, this may be an easy fix if they changed the storage. Also, the line was not that long (see picture) when I arrived, and I was shocked it took over 20 minutes to get through the line. I get wanting to connect with each customer, but there are a number of things that could have helped this process speed up (signs with the flavors to not repeat them for each customer, prepackaged sets of 4 since it seemed 3/4 people were wanting one of each flavor, etc). Finally, the cost. I fully understand this is a small business, but I was put off by being asked to tip already expensive donuts. Typically tipping is not meant to be for the proprietor of a business, only the staff, so with a 1 women business I found this off-putting. Pricing should be set to include all of your costs including necessary wages. That said, I went ahead and tipped since it seemed to be expected, but was frustrated to see almost $30 for 4 donuts after tip, when the products were subpar. If I'd loved the donuts, this pricing would have been fine as Seattle is expensive. But for dry donuts with too-mild flavors, I will not be revisiting future pop-ups.

I had to try it…read more I saw this cute spot on inKind after walking by it during several Seattle visits and finally decided to stop in after reading another review that mentioned that they are nut-free. Spoiler: Absolutely no regrets, I wish I had visited earlier! I ordered a six pack with a variety of their donuts and shared them with four friends, having a bit of each. I'm glad we did it this way because I don't think I could have finished some of these donuts solo. I also had a seasonal rose latte at half sweetness which was decent, but very wholesomely came with a little donut hole that was pretty good. I will say, they nailed all the flavors. If you like the flavor, probably a 4/5 donut overall. They just weren't always my cup of tea. So the scores here are for personal enjoyment more than anything - like I said, they're solid donuts. Sour Watermelon (2/5): Holy smokes, this one felt like it was punching your taste buds. It's almost confusing on how this is in a donut form. It's more like a sour patch kid. It's intense. I don't think I could solo one. Mango Tajin (3/5): Similar to the sour Watermelon, it's perplexing how this is a donut. It was a bit spicy and tangy, just as the flavor implied. Cookies & Cream (3.5/5): Get ready to get messy. It's crumbly. It's sweet. It's more like a normal donut. Matcha Strawberry (4.5/5): My favorite of the weird flavors of donuts. They really aced the matcha flavor and it's well balanced for a donut. Blueberry Fritter (2.5/5): This was pretty hyped up, but honestly I felt like the blueberry flavor was overpowered just by the sheer amount of sugar. Texture was good, it just felt so sweet. Overall, I'd definitely recommend for a fun experience. Share some different flavors! Paid via inKind with no issues.

We decided to drop by after eating lunch in the area for a sweet treat afterwards, then ended up picking up a whole dozen... Some notes for a couple that I tried: Maple Bar ($4.99) - Hmm.. Not that fluffy or light. Instead or being airy, it's more dense and has a kind of springy chew. The glaze is sweet and gives off a heavy maple fragrance, an indication they use real maple syrup in the glaze. Maple bars from other places are usually disgustingly sweet with basically no maple flavor - this one is sweet but more well balanced. I think the texture is definitely different from a typical yeast donut. I wonder if it's just because it more difficult to make vegan yeast donuts vs cake donuts? It's a different type of yeast donut, but still very good. (4/5) Chocolate Peanut Butter ($4.45) - Good peanut butter flavor in both the topping and glaze. I think the donut base is also peanut butter but it could be contamination from the glaze. The base isn't very sweet and is kind of almost savory in flavor. The donut is dense but not crumbly and instead very moist. Not really crusty, so not too much textural difference. I think it's baked rather than fried. Still very sweet. (4/5) Devils Playground ($4.45) - The donut base is dense with rich chocolate flavor, and coated with a chocolate ganache of just the right thickness. I hate it when donuts just have a smear of topping to make the donut look attractive, but does barely anything flavor wise. This one, on the other hand, is richly flavored. (4/5) Chocolate Raspberry ($3.65) - This is my favorite, same chocolate cake donut base as above but with bright berry notes and specks of seeds. The tangy berries do wonders to temper down some of the sweetness. (5/5) French Toast ($3.65) - My least favorite by far. Covered with peanuts (which is fine), but the cake donut base or perhaps the glaze tastes heavily earthy, like an overload of cinnamon and nutmeg. (2/5) People who expect the exact same texture as a non-vegan donut, both the cake and yeast types, will probably be disappointed. If I just think of these donuts as their own thing, they're actually quite good. There's another donut shop that I prefer down the street, but Mighty-O Donuts certainly isn't a bad choice for a sweet treat.

I'd have to give the location a five out of five. Great staff were there making donuts when I was there. I'll start with the maple bar, which was packed full of flavor. I'll give it a four out of five: great texture, great flavor. The maple is really strong, stronger than my preference. I'll go to the buttermilk bar. The buttermilk bar was nice and dense, something great to dunk in a milk or a coffee. The Chocolate Ring, which is what they call it, I'd give it a five out of five: nice and pillowy soft in the middle, nice and had a crisp outside to it, and the chocolate was nice and rich and dark. The store is really cute with lots of mochi donuts on the wall and a pink aesthetic that is perfect for friend hangouts or dates. I got the chizu matcha latte with stir fried boba, which came out to almost $9 total. Bold of them to charge a convenience fee on top of sales tax to make the drink super expensive. I opted for 50% sugar and there is absolutely no option to request less ice. A supposedly regular had to verbally flag to the worker to not add ice, which I probably should do, but at least please add it as an option so that it is more convenient. I guess they want to cut costs and give us less drink? For 50% sugar, I don't think they respected the customizations as I saw the worker just pour premade matcha latte to the cup and then added the cheese foam on top. When I tasted my drink, it was grossly sweet. Boba was undercooked so I ended up having to toss a lot of the boba out, and the boba was not cheap at $0.95 for the topping. Fortunately, when I got my drink, they had a few mochi donut circles I got to sample, and I am glad they sold out of the mochi donuts as the mochi donuts did not have the chewy texture that is present in mochi donuts.
