I remembered reading Yelp reviews on this place as I spotted it in a mini mall from the street as I was passing through Glendale for work. I stopped by to pick up a few chocolates to try. The lavender chocolate was interesting (funny enough when I told someone about this flavor they were like...uhh, like the soap??) I also had a ginger and sea salt which I really enjoyed and thought was quite unique. All the chocolates I tried were quite good and I plan to try out some more flavors when I pass through the area again. Staff seemed friendly and the chocolate prices were quite reasonable. Saw a couple of reviews on this place so I had to come in and enjoy some chocolates! I walked in and spent a few minutes looking at the selection while waiting for the guy to finish helping someone else. Suddenly a woman appears, glares at me, and asks what I want. I was a bi put off by the attitude but I was already there and I just don't have the will to walk away from chocolates. I went in trying to sweeten my life but instead had a bad taste in my mouth for some holier than thou attitude from some lady. The pistachio chocolate was good but the rest if the chocolates (banana, lavender, and pharaoh) were just okay. I'm in love with this hidden gem. This place blows Leonida's away. And I love Leonida's. I stumbled upon it because it's in the same parking lot as a wine shop called Eden. They serve a killer cup of coffee and there's a patio outside and tables inside to enjoy it. I'm also very curious about the chocolate croissant. But come on, it's a chocolate shop! I had a chili pepper dark chocolate, a saffron marzipan chocolate and a tiramisu truffle. Oh...my...damn. I still have a few more sitting on my dining room table that are beckoning me. Also got some to share with N, but I don't know if they'll hold until Monday. And the prices are insanely inexpensive. Chocolates ... Yes. Lattes... No. I was kind of happy to have found a nice warm cozy coffee joint, near my area. And of course the joy of supporting small biz, but unfortunately that only lasted a short while. And I get it... This isn't a coffee shop, but don't offer it if it will be subpar. The guy that is in there usually in the mornings will give you steamed milk and your 1oz foam over your shot of espresso. And perhaps offer you a taste while you look around. (I actually ended up buying chocolate because he was courteous to offer a sample) Good job. But the girl... Ugh. She will give you scalding hot milk right over your shot of espresso. No foam, no "latte" action. Just a 200deg cup of coffee that you have to wait 30 minutes to cool down before chow-ing down only because you spent the money on it. If I wanted hot burnt milk (as she just uses the machine nozzle to heat it up) I would have poured hot microwaved milk in my cup of coffee this morning. No thanks. read more

The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because I only tried their chocolates and not any drinks or chocolate-covered fruit and our service was pleasant but not outstanding. That being said, I don't know how anyone could not enjoy this chocolate! The reviews saying it's not that good don't give any descriptive reasoning and I just don't understand that. I got an email from Yelp about Valentines Day and saw this place's name and checked out their website. I was so intrigued I called my boyfriend and suggested we get a box to share since V-Day is also his birthday and we are both chocolate lovers. We were not disappointed when we walked in. It's a tiny store with chocolate everywhere. We were pretty overwhelmed at where to start. We were immediately greeted and given a sample upon learning it was our first visit. The dark chocolate sample was rich and delicious and clearly quality chocolate (I say this having a grandmother who has handmade chocolates herself for decades and is a bit of a chocolate snob, so I have had good expensive chocolate before and this stuff held up to that standard in my opinion). We ordered the 32 piece custom assortment for $36 (hard to beat that kind of pricing). So far, I've had the dark chocolate caramel, champagne truffle, caramel with espresso sea salt (which was good, but the salt and espresso seemed to only be on one side of the chocolate so I got one really salty bite with a coffee flavor and the rest was like regular caramel), chili pepper (which was good, but spicy chocolate is not my thing), cuban mojito, pineapple truffle, and the dark chocolate pharaoh (peanut praline). My favorites were the pharoah and the pineapple truffle. The pharaoh's sweet and creamy peanut butter center was awesome and the pineapple truffle had a small bit of pineapple puree type filling that was divinely fresh tasting. The mojito had a nice limey heat to it and the chili pepper heat was equivalent to a cinnamon style spiciness. The dark chocolate caramel had rich, milky, caramel that would be great with ice cream! As to our service, as I mentioned, we were greeted immediately and the guy helping us was friendly to an extent, but kept disappearing into the back for a few minutes at a time. We didn't really mind the wait but I can see how that would knock a star off the rating for most people, hence my 4-star rating. I have no doubt that we will be returning to Mignon many times in the future. I came in here a few days ago and to see what type of present packaging they do. They advertise for being a unique and impressive present packaging techniques. I was not impressed. I flipped through their book of examples of what they had done, and wow they were so ugly. Even the examples they had in the store were ugly. Not only were they ugly, they were such a rip off. They had little small boxes of chocolate they sell for weddings/engagements and they looked so cheap. I have driven by this place a gazillion times and finally decided to check it out last night. First let me say, I am not a huge fan of chocolate.....I mean it's OK once in a while, but it's nothing that I crave or devour if it's around the house. All that may have changed. The place is a bit overwhelming upon entry. There are decorative boxes and miscellaneous items strewn about. Pre-made boxes line the walls and when you get to the back of the store you've hit pay dirt. The chocolates are beautiful and their are so many to choose from. I didn't even know where to start so I purchased a box of their selection and figured I would go from there. But, when I went to pay I was distracted by Cappuccino Truffle, so he offered me one to sample. Then he asked if I like dark chocolate and upon answering "yes" he offered me the 56% dark chocolate ganache. But, then I saw IT....the Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate Shell....so he gave me that too. Then he offered by daughter a "liquid caramel" and I watched her sink into oblivion as he bit into it and declared "this is amazing". Although there are many more there that I wanted to try, I kept my mouth shut so as not to take advantage of his hospitality. These chocolates are works of art. I had seen this "new" chocolatier in my neighborhood advertising Nutella Lattes so I thought I would stop in, and what a surprise. They have the most unique flavors, and the chocolates are exquisitely crafted. I am going to be sending Mignon Chocolates for special occasions like birthdays, baby showers, and the like. It was a rainy Monday and 3 of us were looking for a tea/coffee place. So google maps found for us this perfect location. We each order a tea and some individual chocolates. They have like 10 different flavors of tea and like 40 kinds of chocolates :) Girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful, I ended up coming back to buy box of chocolate. So single chocolate cost around 1.25$ a piece, which I think not that bad, and I got 8 pieces in a box for 12$. I will definitely come again and suggest to my friends.
