I'm not sure how on earth this place got any Michelin recognition - my meal here was the most disgusting I've ever had in my life. Publix buffet food would have been better. I urge Michelin Guide to re-evaluate this place. I also urge Miami Spice organizers to exclude them from next year's restaurant roster because what they provided was absolutely false advertising and a complete rip off. Let's start with the fact that they falsely advertise on the Miami Spice website that you can choose ANY appetizer or entree from their menu, no exceptions. FALSE! It was only when we sat down that the waiter informed us that any steak or seafood towers were not included and that there would be a $20 upcharge on other items, essentially eliminating half their menu. Now, if like me, you drove half an hour thinking you were going to order steak or something else fancy, you'd be sadly disappointed. First, let's talk about how it took the waiter 20 minutes to take our order while I was starving, and one full HOUR before any food would arrive at our table. I ended up ordering the scallops for an appetizer and it wasn't scallops plural, but one tiny smooshed undercooked slimy scallop. See pics. I saw our neighbors order the same thing and they got two scallops because they weren't doing Miami Spice. So they were definitely penalizing and jipping you for actually doing the Miami Spice menu. Hey Mignonette, if you are too cheap to participate in Miami Spice, then don't do it at all. Then as my entree, I ordered the Grouper w potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I've had lovely grouper before (light and flaky) and this was not grouper. If it was, it was the most cardboard-like, tastless, frozen and reheated piece of garbage I've ever tasted. I could barely choke it down as hungry as I was. I didn't think anyone could mess up fingerling potatoes, but Mignonette managed to - the potatoes were undercooked, rock hard and yet also at the same time drenched in cooking oil which tasted like lighter fluid. The Brussels sprouts were equally heinous! Rock hard, uncooked, yet also soggy in cooking oil that hadn't been changed out for a week. Not sure how they managed to burn the outside of both the potatoes and sprouts to a crisp, but have it raw on the inside. My mom's snapper was slightly better and I wish I had ordered that instead. The final slap in the face came with dessert. A carrot cake, the saddest, tiniest sliver of frozen store bought carrot cake I've ever been served, lacking any taste, not containing any walnuts. Another piece of cardboard masquerading as dessert. Actually, I should say that I've had grocery store carrot cake 10x better. Zero ambiance. Looked like an abandoned storefront from the outside with a shady and unsafe gravel parking lot in back. No proper signage outside, I couldn't even find the restaurant door. Both dining halls were headache-inducingly loud. The floors were so sticky your shoes would stick. Bathroom was something out of a horror movie - absolutely disgusting, I kid you not. I wish I had taken a picture of the toilet seat, which was discolored yellow and pink from 30 years of stains. A new toilet seat costs $17! The managers/owners of this place should be ashamed of themselves. In a city like Miami, in a neighborhood like Wynwood/Edgewater with so many great restaurants, how can they serve this atrocious food in a filthy establishment and have a Michelin mention?!? It's mind boggling and they must have paid for the fake reviews. I left hungry, angry, and disappointed. Take it from this Yelp Elite, save your time and money and take a hard pass on this place. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

A bit of a hidden gem that's still around in the miami scene. It's a very cute and quiet space that gives dinner vibes. Haven't been to this place in years and recently went back and it still holds up. Too notch seafood options and wine collection. No cocktails on the menu as a heads up. Service was really good as we had a party of 8. Would def recommend to try.

Came for Miami spice with a few friends and I really enjoyed it. Note: There were some things in the menu that were an additional charge. I got the lobster linguine and loved the large chunks of lobster in it. It had a little spicy kick to it. Then I got the lobster rolls cuz I couldn't get enough and it was sooo yummy. It hit the spot. The bread was generously buttered and I was a fan. I got the fries and broccoli on the side to balance things out. Lastly for desert the key lime pie! It was very lime-y. Good but a little too lime-y for me. Service was great!

What's not to like about this small, quaint restaurant? The service was lovely. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the host and promptly seated for our reservation on a Monday night. There were a couple of tables dining already, but plenty were still open at 6:30. My two friends and I came in for the MIAMI Spice menu. We were pleasantly surprised to find that most of the menu was available for the selection of the appetizer and entrée. However, the desserts were limited to a choice from a selection of three. We also had to order all three courses upfront. We ordered the deviled eggs, the lobster linguine, and the crab cake as our starters and shared them. All of them were delicious in their own way. Truly, I would've been content with the lobster linguine as my main course. For my entrée, I ordered the lobster roll with French fries and broccolini. I adored the citrusy flavor of the lobster, as well as the little kick from the broccolini, and was delighted with the quality of the French fries--golden and crispy. For dessert, the Key lime pie was my favorite of the bunch; however, that was a dissenting opinion. (Everyone else agreed that the bread pudding was the standout.) I will say, I was a little confused about parking because it looked like there was a sign indicating parking toward the back, but I didn't see anything. So, I opted for street parking, and there was plenty available at that time--although it looked a little sketchy. However, once I parked and entered the restaurant, I quickly forgot about that.

Had an early dinner here before the Nutcracker--really quality experience. Excellent service, cozy but funky ambiance, and amazing food. Love the Miami-new Orleans fusion of the menu. For starters we ordered the lobster deviled eggs which are a must order and the chargrilled oysters. We are not oyster fans and absolutely devoured these. For entrees we went with the appetizer size of the scallops and the fancy red fish. Scallops were deliciously seared and the polenta was creamy but the red fish absolutely stole the show. The andouille crust had a nice spice and the gravy underneath was so delicious we ended up soaking the polenta in it. Highly recommend, great date night spot.

Finally made it to Mignonette! Glad we had reservations as the restaurant was full on this Wednesday night. Our party of 3 came here to take advance of the last days of Miami Spice. The great thing here for Spice is that you can order off the regular menu, with some exceptions with additional up charges, choose any app, entree and dessert. We ordered 3 different appetizers, the mussels in white wine sauce, the crab cake and the oysters. All 3 were great and equally delicious. We were all pretty set on the same entree, the main lobster tails! We did not mind the up charge for this entree, as it was lobster, our tails were perfectly cooked and served with an additional 2 sides of our choice. Dessert we also ordered one of each of the 3 options available: carrot cake (good, but preferred the others) bread pudding (warm and decadent, delicious) and key lime pie (perfectly tart and sweet enough, tied with the pudding for favorite). Hope to come back soon and try some other items I saw on the menu.

We came in a few minutes before the kitchen closed. I hate doing this to the staff but they were so nice and attentive still. We opted for the three course meal from the miami spice menu. The Rockefeller oysters, scallop, deviled egg lobster, and octopus were delicious. My friends and I shared a bite from each dish. All the dishes were tasty. For the main entree we had the grouper, lobster roll and snapper. Wow the flavor, every bite was amazing. For dessert we had the bread pudding which is a must, carrot cake and the apple pie that was warm and melted in your mouth. The restaurant had dimmed lights and two separate rooms with tables. Also, a small bar with the menu on a board. Overall, I had a great experience and I can see why it's Michelin recommended.

Mignonette is a great seafood restaurant and oyster house. As you get in, the interior is not what you would expect for the prices, but the food itself is worth it. Service was good throughout the meal. We started with glasses of wine and an order of Oysters Rockefeller (since my wife does not like raw ones). The oysters were really well cooked with good flavor. We also had the crab cakes which were excellent, with good chunks of crab. For the main dish, I had grouper and then you were able to select two sides (where I picked Asparagus and Brussels sprouts). The grouper was outstanding, cooked perfectly. I was also really impressed with the sides, particularly the Brussels Sprouts. My wife had the snapper and she really enjoyed that. The fries she had were very good also. As noted at start, it is on the pricy side, but the seafood is top-notch and worth a visit.

I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, and overall, the experience was just okay. Unfortunately, our waiter was inconsistent and barely checked on us, which made the service feel lackluster. We started with the oyster flight and the clams casino--easily the highlight of our meal. The oysters were fresh, clean, and free of grit, while the clams casino were some of the best I've ever had. They were packed with flavor, served in a delicious combination of bacon, shallots, piquillo peppers, and white wine sauce. At this point, we were excited for what was to come. However, things started to go downhill. We had also ordered the fish dip, but it never arrived. Our waiter never acknowledged the mistake, so we didn't even get the chance to try it. For our entrées, I ordered the snapper with cheesy polenta and broccolini, and I really enjoyed my dish. The flavors were well-balanced, and the fish was cooked beautifully. The only downside was that the polenta, while delicious, was served a bit cold. My boyfriend, on the other hand, was extremely disappointed with his grouper. It looked and tasted like a frozen piece of fish--bland, uninspired, and overshadowed by the sides. Given that we live in Florida, where fresh seafood is a staple, this was a major letdown. Hoping to end the meal on a high note, we wanted to order a slice of key lime pie--but, unsurprisingly, they were out. At that point, it just felt like the cherry on top of an already frustrating experience. Needless to say, we probably won't be back unless it's just for appetizers (or maybe to finally try that fish dip we never received--if they don't forget again, lol).

This place is in understated gem. Small tucked away, you might almost miss it. Decor is simple but elegant, the focus is CLEARLY The food. The meal was beyond amazing, best value for spice Entire menu is an option. Bold rich flavors, creative combinations ... perfection! Beer and wine only for alcohol options. The wine list was ok. To begin with, the place was cute, packed, and service at the table was phenomenal. Aside from waiting 25 minutes to be sat at our table (even with a reservation) the service was great. The table before us hadn't gotten up after paying, and if I had to critique the service I would advise the management to have gone over and said I'm sorry but we have a table reservation that has been waiting over ten minutes if you don't mind continuing your conversation at the bar. Now, let's talk food. Apps: I've never not ordered a steak tartare if it's on a menu, so I had to try it. My steak tartar was a little bland, and the pieces were cut into cubes, and those cubes were tough to chew. I really didn't like it, and I've never disliked a steak tartare before. WITH THAT SAID, my friend ALSO ordered this- and his had a mustardy tangy flavor, the texture was more tender, and it was delicious. He agreed that the plates tasted totally different. So, I don't know why mine tasted different, but it definitely wasn't consistent across plates. The lobster linguini was a little fishy, and just not our favorite. The table didn't finish it. The octopus was delicious! Perfectly cooked with a crispy skin. Love. The scallops were good! I got them fancy style with a side of the beurre blanc to dip it in. Good portion size and generally tasty. Not the best I've ever had, but still tasty. Smoked fish dip was GREAT. I finished it with a fork once we ran out of crackers. Finally, the crispy skin snapper with beurre blanc was amazing. It was cooked so perfectly and basically melted in your mouth. This was the winner! All in all, this is one of the best miami spice specials since they let you choose from the whole menu, food was good, not great. I would go back though!

This cute little oyster bar in Edgewater was calling my name. They have a several different oysters to choose from so we tried a few each. The crispy skin snapper was light but flavorful and I had some of the best asparagus I've ever eaten as a side. But the real star of the show was the Clams Casino, which was a bowl of clams in a broth made with bacon, shallots, peppers, and white wine. OMG. I wanted to drink every last drop of the broth it was that good. Service here is great and the servers a highly knowledgeable about their menu, it's impressive. There's actually a ton of seating but make sure to make a rezi or you might be stuck waiting a while.

Small space but with a big food profile personality! The seafood is so darn fresh ! The service is amazing and helpful. Only downside for me, was a lack of specialty liquor drinks. What a fantastic spot! The menu is simple seafood straightforward, the wine selection is perfectly done, is small selection but everything will paired with what you eat from the menu. Ashley guided us through our and gave us the specials and favorites, very knowledgeable and gave us great wine recommendations. Everything was perfectly prepared and cooked. The highlight of the day was the scallops, we haven't had such a great dish in a while, perfectly seared. Was a great experience from beginning to end. Highly recommended read more

Planning the perfect Arsht Center matinee: get a parking spot ($1.75/hr) on the street a few blocks north, and a lunch reservation at Mignonette. It can become an expensive meal if you add a load of oysters at $3 each, but 6 prepared "Rockefeller" style are a relative bargain for $19 - delicious! The picture of the shrimp PO-boy makes the shrimp look dry from the breading, but rest assured that the plump juicy shrimp are best-of-breed. Highly recommend changing the default side (chips) to a veg for another $1. Cauliflower with mayo was very good. I'm planning 3 more visits for the next 3 performances in my Arsht subscription, and Mignonette has 5-star potential at the end of that run. Update to come. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but they managed to take seafood, from light and fresh, to heavy and salty. I tried the red mussels and scallop appetizers, both on the waiter's recommendation. Red sauce was very good but mussels were small/overcooked and the bread wasn't toasted. The scallop dish was extremely salty. The foie gras was undetectable, but the mushroom sauce was nice - assuming foie flavored it but there was none visible. Scallops were nice quality and well cooked but overpowered by the salt. Bummer! read more

A group of five of us went for dinner to celebrate my sister's birthday. I've read amazing reviews about this restaurant and was looking forward to checking it out. Unfortunately it saddens me to say dinner did not meet our expectations. My friends really enjoyed their crab cake appetizer, but as for my dinner it was not good. I ordered the crispy red snapper with cheesy polenta. The snapper unfortunately did not meet expectations. I think I took two or three bites and couldn't eat it. My friend tasted it as well and also disliked it. The seasoning was off and it tasted really fishy. I love red snapper, but This one was a disappointment. The cheesy polenta was good, but the rest of our dinner party thought their dinner was average. I probably won't be coming back. read more

Zero stars would be more accurate. Beat up diner decor, 4 shrimp for 45 dollars, everything oversalted. This place charges more than la mar! And it doesn't have a spectacular bay view and a wonderfully varied menu. It was awful. We only ate half our fish dishes, took the rest home for the cat. read more

THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS! These were so good, and I somehow never got a photo. We also had the crab claws and some oysters. The food and service were really good and I highly recommend. You should totally make a reservation if you do want to enjoy dinner here was they are aways pretty full on the weekends read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Miami, I've been eating here for 3 years or so, I come here whenever I fly in. Fish of the day has never done me wrong, lots of vegetable options for the health conscious, and for the few not worrying about their waist line they have a fantastic carrot cake for dessert. Service is always good, and there really isn't anything on the menu that doesn't belong. It's a good vibe for dates, and larger crowds too (been here with 6 before and it was great). My go to whenever I'm in town. read more

Miami Spice Dinner When I saw 1/2 Dozen Oysters as an appetizer, I was like"Oh yea Baby!". Definitely one of the more bang for my buck Miami Spice dinners! We started out with the soup of the day, it was Califlower mixed with another vegetable and 3 nice size Mussels that sat on top. Oysters were delicious, the Crudo, I wasn't a big fan, but then again I'm not into raw fish. The Crispy Striped Bass was delectable, the lentils went so well with the fish. The Idaho Trout was also flavorful. What pushed me over was the Bread Pudding, OMG I felt like I needed a Wheel Barrel to transport me out of the restaurant. The Panna Cotta was definitely a lighter dessert option, but still filling due to the portion size. But hands down, the bread pudding was the best dessert. Sweet and filling, almost like a soft brownie. While Panna Cotta was creamy and limey, with Minimal fruit portion and the crispy merengue was crunchy but nothing out of this world. Mignonette was definitely generous with its Miami Spice portions. Service was great, the down side... your View is one of Miami's oldest cemetery and good luck with the Bathroom situation. Came here for Miami Spice! So my review is based on that. Appetizer- half dozen oysters chef choice. It's 3 east coast, 3 West coast. They were all small, fresh, and sweet. Entree Idaho Trout- super delicious and good portions. Good flavor well cooked and the bed of corn with jalapeno compliments the trout. Filet Mignon- it comes with a vegetable side. Cooked well and tasty. Nothing super special. Desert Bread pudding- super great flavor. I highly recommend. Best desert on the Miami spice It's a corner restaurant across the street from the cemetary. There's paid street parking right in front. read more

This place was well recommended... For me, I was disappointed... Thought they had a better kitchen and better service... If you decide to go, make a reservation and ask for the main dinning room... It will make a difference. We had the side room, awful! Service was a notch below average for what I was expecting! Food, the mushrooms are very good... Probably the best plate I ate... Octopus, average, branzino also average and missing flavor... For the price they charge at this place, the chef should be more creative in making a simple (simple does not mean easy) grilled fish... I can do better than that!!! All in all, I was expecting more... And it is over priced for what we got! Sorry... read more

Amazing seafood and oyster find in Miami. Been twice over the last 2 years, 2nd time better than the 1st, and both outstanding! If you can't make up your mind about what oysters to get, try the oyster flight! 6 on the half shell, 3 grilled, and 3 Rockefeller. read more

Ordered the Lobster roll to go. I had to get it with two sides so I ordered the potato fries and artichokes. For $30+ meal I expected the Lobster roll to taste better. It came in a bun and just had a ton of butter on it. Not much flavor. It was a generous portion however. I also didn't like how they didn't include some lemon slices and plasticware for the to go. The lady taking the order at the front could try smiling more. read more

I wouldn't have known there was a restaurant here. The location is pretty random (across a cemetery). But the restaurant itself is of a relaxing ambiance. Oysters were delicious and for a good price too. They only had 6 different types of oysters to select from 3 from the west and 3 from the east. I will suggest to try 2 of each unless you already know how you like your oysters. I also tried their crab cake which didn't really wow me so much. The service was good as well our waiter was incredibly polite. I'll come back to try the lobster. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a new seafood restaurant to have date night. We found this gem on Yelp and our server Tyrese was very professional and friendly. He recommended the charred octopus and the scallops. We also tried the lady chatterly oysters and the red fish. Everything we ate was delicious and I would definitely recommend coming back. read more

The opposite of Sins Gastropub (see my review on that place). This Mignonette has zero charm in its ambience and has rude staff (other than one sweetie pie waitress from Atlanta who saved the evening from total disappointment). Mignonette is horribly overpriced with wannabe menu items. I could not believe there were so many people eating here who were willing to pay such steep sucker pricing as $65 for a bottle of basic Prosecco and $24 for six measly oysters thrown on a bowl of ice with no frills. Actually, "No Frills" should be the namesake of this place because nothing here was "mignon" (French for cute). The food was mediocre at best.... My recommendation: spend the same budget on a fancier place with a reputable chef instead, if spending beaucoup bucks for a true foodie experience is your ultimate intention. read more

What a place! Great atmosphere! Amazing food! Outstanding service! The food was amazing, still drooling on the taste of the scallops. The food was the highlight of the day. Scallops were done just right, food was hot and on point .The service was impeccable! Tyresse was friendly, welcoming and so knowledgeable about the dishes served to my husband, my son and I. He had his hands full with other tables, but never a moment he left us unattended. He took the time, what a great professional server! We never felt rushed and the place was hopping busy. Catered a lunch for us in January 2016 where we picked up a variety of the boxed po' boys. They came with either a tasty little side salad or fries . . . DELICIOUS! We raved for days and many of us quickly visited again for lunch. Flash forward to yesterday, February 29th. Convinced my family that this was a place we needed to go for a great po' boy. So we made it over around 7p.m. I was crushed to learn that the po' boys aren't on the menu for dinner (WHY?!?!) Okay, so after regrouping, I decided it would be okay since my previous experiences were so fantastic. We ordered popcorn conch & clams and got oysters & clams, but it was okay, it was good. Nothing over the top, just regular fried seafood. I also ordered an ox tail soup that our waiter said was coming from their sister restaurant, Blue Collar (one of my favorites for brunch). It never came. Okay, so the waiter brought us fried oysters & clams instead of conch & clams. Okay, I really didn't NEED the oxtail soup. So we decided to share their deluxe seafood tower ($95). Ready for this . . . a complete disappointment! The fresh oysters & clams were good (no cooking required), but it tasted as if they opened up a can of crab meat & stuck it on the plate along with overcooked shrimp. My son seemed to enjoy the one King Crab leg, but he's nine, I wouldn't call him a connoisseur. Oh yea, almost forgot, there was one little teenie tiny lobster tail that looked like they ran next door to Publix for it. Stick with Smith & Wollensky for a good, fresh, satisfying seafood tower; and if you choose to eat here, go for lunch. Should I blame it on Leap Year?!?!? I think not. read more

The whole visit was phenomenal! You almost might drive past but it's worth the stop. My server Louis was informative and helped me decide which oysters I wanted from my preferred flavor profile and they didn't disappoint. The conch popcorn was tender and seasoned well. The grouper was so good. I thought it was going to be salty but it was the perfect balanced bite with the pearl onions, mushrooms and sea beans. I couldn't resist dessert. I had the key lime pie. Everything is made in house and you can taste the difference! I have a few more days in Miami and I'll definitely be back! read more

I love my seafood! I went looking around for some of the best raw bars in Miami and stumbled upon Mignonette! I was pleasantly surprised with everything it had to offer. The food was fantastic, the staff were amazing, particularly one of the managers there. I had forgotten his name unfortunately. He offered to grab our drinks and start our order for us. Chris was our server and he was very sweet and knowledgeable of the menu as well. Waters were always filled and dirty plates were gone before I could put my fork down. My boyfriend and I arrived during happy hour (5:30-7:00). We were able to order 6 of the lobster deviled eggs for $2 a piece, and the Brussels sprouts with bacon vinaigrette for $4 ($2 off). Absolutely exquisite. Loved the deviled eggs so much! For our main course we ordered the fancy seafood tower. The manager came by to deliver our entree, and explained which was what on the tower. Again, he was wonderful! Definitely worth the price and we were highly satisfied with everything. The different sauces it came with were also a delicious. From welcoming and friendly staff to the amazing food -- I highly recommend this place & can't wait to come back! read more

For the price and reputation, I'm not sure I'd recommend it. The service was a bit abrupt and I would expect more care and friendliness at this restaurant. We wanted to hear about the oyster choices and the waiter rushed through them really loudly and didn't even describe them all. I got the feeling that's because we only asked to order a half dozen. It kind of tipped me off that he suspected we were not going to order well and not tip big. There were lots of people around ordering big seafood towers. The oysters were good but the experience was not. We also ordered the deviled eggs with lobster which gets rave reviews online. But the lobster was so cold, like on the edge of frozen, and wet, that it was essentially flavorless. For entrees, my husband had a fish filet and I had the scallops. His fish was hot and crispy, as if fresh off the pan. My scallops and sauce were barely lukewarm, almost cool, as if they had been sitting around while the chef timed the filet. My beurre blanc also tasted a bit raw and undercooked. Overall, pretty meh and I don't expect meh from such a highly reviewed restaurant at this price point. read more

Food and service was good. Went there to celebrate my Grandson's birthday. The menu is pricey. I'm particular about selections. It was a problem for me to select food. I had the crispy snapper. As a rule when it comes to fish I prefer salmon or cod. My daughter loved her snapper. The rest of my party had oysters. Place was clean. read more

We were looking for a great dinner with exceptional service to celebrate a big birthday while in Miami. Unfortunately, Mignonette fell very short and left us all, birthday girl included, disappointed and unsatisfied. As far as atmosphere, Mignonette has the fun, converted gas station part down well. While it looks fun on the outset, it hides the fact that the main room is overpoweringly loud and smells extraordinarily fishy. However, we were excited to look past the shortcomings in atmosphere for the promise of great food - lobster deviled eggs, crab cake apps, lobster roll, red fish, and monkfish. Appetizers took painfully long to come out, and left us restless even after they came out. Lobster deviled eggs were bland and crab cakes looked more like "fried canned tuna fish". Main meal came out somewhat soon afterwards and was fine. Somewhat unappetizing was the shell I found in my lobster roll, although the fries served with were great. The members in our party didn't love their mains either - red fish was fine, although Brussel sprouts were soggy and lacked anything more than a hint of the bacon it boasted on the menu. We decided to order dessert - it was a birthday after all, but immediately regretted it. Dessert took an absolutely unreasonable amount of time for a lukewarm slice of pie and carrot cake that was sitting in a domed stand on the bar. It was kind of them to put a candle in the cake, but at that point, we were all feeling too antsy to do anything except swallow down the dry, bland cake and eat the sad, flavorless pie. Vanilla ice cream was delicious, however. I know our server was very busy, but we felt overlooked for most of the night. Not a great way to feel on a special occasion celebration. Overall, between the lackluster food, painfully loud atmosphere, and inattentive service, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

Amazing service, we were expecting their original menu and had our minds set on what we wanted but instead they had a different Italian menu so we were a little bummed. The food was still amazing though, the mussels with white wine were so good, we also had the meatballs which were good but not our fav. For the main courses we had the chicken francese and chicken Marsala which were both full of flavor!! And to end it we had the butterscotch bread pudding so yum!! read more

We only tried a few items off the happy hour menu but everything we had was very tasty. I've had many different variations of deviled eggs but this lobster deviled egg version was not what I pictured. It was a regular deviled egg with a piece of lobster placed on top- and it was very delicious. Its nice to come to a place where you can enjoy fresh seafood. They have a great selection of oysters that come served with cocktail sauce, horseradish, vinaigrette, and lemon. The popcorn conch was fresh and not rubbery. It came with a cocktail sauce and what seemed like a mayo-based sauce but unfortunately it was too spicy for my liking. We will be back. read more

Had such a lovely dinner at Mignonette. It's unassuming and casual, but the food really packs a punch and was absolutely impeccable-- I don't think there was a single dish that was just "meh." We got the lobster deviled eggs, fried conch, oyster flight (grilled and raw), and the cobia etouffle. Finished off with the bread pudding for dessert. The lobster deviled eggs were so so so good. I think they give decent chunks of lobster in that. Great spot for a date. read more

I would give this 0 stars if I could. A few reasons: 1. Food was super salty - like they cooked it with the sea water from the beach. 2. Waiter didn't care that it was salty and just left when he told him the issue. I wonder why waiters even ask how the meal is if they don't care. 3. The ambiance was unnecessarily elitist when they read the specials to us - literally the specials menu was as long as their regular menu but they expected us to memorize it after they orally told it to us. In fact, it was so long that the waiter couldn't even remember it even though he was reciting it all night...he had to read off his notepad. 4. The neighborhood around the restaurant is suppeerrrrrr sketch. Most other buildings were completely vacant and graffitied everywhere. Just sad. Real sad. read more

This is definitely on my favorite spots in all of Miami. It's a rare feat to pull off incredible oysters, consistently. Chef Serfer created this landmark restaurant that unlike many restaurants in Miami has had serious staying power. Dare I say it gets better and better every time I come?! I've been here early, late, and every hour in between and it's consistently impressive. The desserts are also creative and perfectly balanced which for me is necessary after stuffing my face with delicious seafood. Enjoy! read more

There isn't a dress code per se but I would say dressing "smart casual" or nicer is recommended. I was in a t-shirt and shorts and felt very under-dressed compared to other patrons but no one at the restaurant mentioned anything.

While we enjoyed the overall experience, several service and execution issues took away from what should have been a special evening. Drink service was slow throughout the meal, and one guest didn't receive a refill until dinner was nearly finished. We were also told a birthday glass of wine would be complimentary, but it still appeared on the final bill. For the food, we ordered garlic butter for our steaks but received large portions of cold butter that hadn't melted. We also weren't informed that the filet already included garlic butter. The prawn appetizer had an off flavor, and one of the three filets was overwhelmingly peppery while the other two were properly seasoned. We ordered two bottles of wine and, due to limited tableside attention, often found ourselves refilling our own glasses throughout the evening. Overall, the food was enjoyable and we appreciated the opportunity to celebrate here. However, for a restaurant at this price point, the service and attention to detail should be much stronger. We traveled four hours for this experience and hope these issues were simply the result of an off night.

Walked in and... it was giving empty. Like FIVE people in the whole place empty. Ma'am this is a SEASON FINALE, where is everybody?? We gave it one sad look around and collectively decided we were not about to watch a couple win a relationship AND $100k surrounded by absolutely nobody's energy. Enter: the group chat scramble. Somebody said "wait isn't grails doing something?" and GRAILS SHOWED UP AND SHOWED OUT. Five minute walk later and we're suddenly in the middle of what can only be described as a full Love Island themed production. Not a chair in sight when we got there (we stood for a solid 20 minutes like the dedicated girlies we are, no complaints, we've suffered for less) until a table cleared and we swooped in on some couch seating like the tactical geniuses we are. The vibes? Immaculate. The energy? Impeccable. Smirnoff had the place fully sponsored ... team walking around handing out merch, free shots, drinks flowing, and a Love Island themed photo booth that had us posing like we were the ones about to get a text. Moral of the story: should've come here from the jump. Grails didn't just host a watch party, they hosted THE watch party. Watched the finale with my fellow Yelp girlies in what felt like our own little villa and honestly? No notes. 10/10, will be back for the next situationship-ending finale. Upside -- it's not you, it's just that Grills understood the assignment.

She kept our drinks topped off, checked in consistently without being intrusive, and made several great recommendations that helped guide our selections. For our main dishes, we sampled a variety of items. The filet was cooked properly but could have used a bit more seasoning. It paired nicely with the mashed potatoes and mushrooms. All of our steaks were cooked to the requested temperature, which is always appreciated and not something every restaurant consistently gets right. The tortellini was another solid choice, featuring a flavorful cream sauce that paired well with the added grilled chicken. Unfortunately, the Korean beef bibimbap was the biggest disappointment of the evening. It lacked flavor, and the rice at the bottom of the bowl was overly burnt and crispy from the residual heat. To finish the meal, we shared the crème brûlée cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. The cheesecake was a great ending to the meal, while the sticky toffee pudding reminded us somewhat of a molten chocolate cake and was equally enjoyable. It was my last night in Miami and I wanted some first-rate seafood and was willing to spend a little more to make this wish come true. So my friend Tony who I came to visit recommended we make reservations at Mignonette as it a recognized as a top quality seafood restaurant. Well, after my experience at Mignonette I can see why. However, I first have to mention that my willingness to spend more was granted because you definitely pay a pretty penny at this fine establishment. Our bill was close to $130 (for 2). Here are the details: Ordered a bottle of red wine recommended by the waiter. For an appetizer we of course had to order the oysters. And if you like oysters, I recommend doing the same. We had the oyster Frank which I had never tasted anything like it! (It came with bacon!) Genius. Also ordered the oyster Rockefeller which were exquisite. Ordered the clams casino which had some great flavoring and were a nice size. As for the main course, I ordered the yellowtail which had a bit of crispy outside, a soft meat inside, and was flavored and cooked to perfection. My buddy Tony ordered the snapper and had the same review as I did with the yellowtail. The restaurant's ambiance is beautiful and really gives you that relaxed fine dining experience. And last but not least, the service. Man, their service was on point. I mean really on point. I dropped my fork on the floor somehow, and literally within seconds it was picked up and I had a new fork in my possession. My glass of water was never lower than a third of the glass. These are just a couple details to give you an idea at where the level is at. Overall an awesome experience. Unfortunately, I am not able to spend the amount I did on this meal every weekend, but you really do get what you pay for. Visited Mignonette for a pre-theater dinner. I had this place on my radar since their opening and was excited about finally going there. The restaurant was full already at the opening time, presumably most people were pre-theater. We took it as a good sign and couldn't wait to start our dinner. The server was efficient in general but when taking orders, he missed one person in our group of four and walked away before that person was able to order an entree so we had to call him back. I was also surprised by the fact that they only had two whole fish available on Saturday night at the opening time - we were one of the first tables to place the order. That didn't dampen my enthusiasm because the food was going to be fabulous! It wasn't. The mussels in white wine sauce were very good but the sauce was extremely salty. The shrimp cocktail was not okay, shrimp were limp and soggy, obviously defrosted. My grouper was pretty good but covered in an over-seasoned sauce. My husband's swordfish didn't taste well so he returned it ordered a trout instead. He got a plate with a very small and very thin pan-fried fillet that didn't look appetizing and didn't taste great either. He ended up not eating it. I also sampled the whole fish ordered by the other people at our table (reminder: the only two whole fish available in the restaurant). PART 2 Please check the 1 star review to see how administrators behave to the guest and why they can destroy food experience. My boyfriend called to make a reservation (table for 2 next to a window). Administrator replied that he wound make a note. And if table will be available- we might seat there. After asking for details. Name, and phone number he understood that he already saw us yesterday. And we were unsatisfied with his behavior. He replied to my boyfriend- I won't let you in. Because you left yesterday. I was listening to the conversation and was shocked why administration talk like this. My boyfriend questioned him why we're not welcomed. His reply was "Because you left yesterday". We'll it's clear enough that we were forced to leave. But since we're calling today and asking for specific table we still want to give a try and enjoy our evening in this restaurant. Tim (my boyfriend) questioned him: "Are you sure you want to turn us away?" Reply was : "Yes". WOOOOWWW. Administration was able to DESTROY the mood TWO DAYS IN A ROW. If you're in Miami and you don't go here, don't complain about not finding a great dinner spot among all the muck that is Miami cuisine. Don't get me wrong there's great food in Miami, some of the best in the world. But this place stands out like a polar bear in a desert. Louis or Luis was our server. He was not only positive and a great server but he had a situational awareness that I crave every time I spend money eating out. The raw oysters and the crispy skin snapper are a must. I'll never get over the buerre blanc sauce that comes atop the snapper, I could drink it. Whenever we come back to Miami we will go again and ask for Louis or Luis because not every server has the fortitude to deal with my wife's need for a full glass of wine ! What a shame, it use to be my favorite place, was looking to go back and back again.. But I won't. Went there last night, a disaster, not existing service, we had to beg several times to have our waitress back to the table, food was nothing special.. Of course we had to wait long enough that the table next to us which of course arrived after us..had to finish their appetizers. I had to get up to help my self with wine, I talk to the 2 gentlemen at the door, very kind but they could care less, guess what I had to wait to pay as well.. The rudest staff I have ever encountered in my life. I arrived late to a dinner with a group of people. By the time I arrived they had orderd plenty of wine and food. I sat along the wall next to a friend. A man who worked there (not sure if a manger or waitstaff) came to me and said, "You can't sit there," even though there was plenty of room. Two minutes later he came to me and said "I won't tell you again, you can't sit there. You have to leave." I wasn't even there for five minutes. THE RUDEST WAITER OR STAFF PERSON I EVER MET. I didn't even get to try the food, although all my other friends had ordered plenty of food and wine. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. This review is for happy hour only. $2 oysters (only 2/8 varieties were made available for happy hour but I'm not complaining), $1 clams both fresh and delicious. $6 fried clams are "perfect" but you must eat then asap while hot. Fyi I find good clams hard to find in s fla as a rule (compared to northeast clams). Inexpensive good selection of wine and beer for happy hour. Interesting selections. The black stout is perfect for shellfish. Deviled eggs were average. Undersalted and not much flavor, despite nice portion of fresh lobster for $2 each. Mignonnete and cocktails sauces are spot on. I had great expectations for this place because I live next door and always looked very public but really was not what I expected. The attention was quite poor, since we ordered drinks it took 30 minutes to bring to the table and I always felt neglected. Believe the hype, Mignonette is one of the new "it" spots in the city! Food was amazing and service was also superb. I had the mussels (amazing), a dozen oysters (also amazing) and the lobster roll (a must try). Tips: make sure you make a reservation as it usually packed. I got there like an hour before my reservation and luckily my table was available. Also, if you don't like loud restaurants, Mignonette may be a bit too loud for you. Wow, hold on to your hats! This place is an absolute gem. The ambience, the service, and the food? Mind-blowing! I mean, seriously, this is food fit for the gods. I even had to tell my dear old mom that if she can't whip up dishes like this, she might as well retire from the kitchen. Came by here twice when I was in town and was blown away by the quality both times! The oysters are some of the best I can recall having, and the different kinds of fish that generously come with multiple sides is really great value for a relatively expensive type of food (seafood). Its a great restaurant to stop and excellent quality of food. Been coming here many times, the food I can't tell enough how good it is. So many special food. The lobster roll was so good and so delicious. I also like the crab cake which taste fantastic too. The seafood is so good and really fresh. The served promptly and it was so nice. Just tried their Miami Spice menu. Everything is great except their 'bread pudding' for dessert, super sweet and not your typical bread pudding. I couldn't taste any bread, and I was trying hard to think what would be comparable to that taste. Wow ,what a delicious food!! The Lobster tail and the crab cake are something else!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a seafood lover and this is definitely the place to go! Hosts are kind and helpful. food served fast even tough it is very packed usually.
