So came back today and once again had a few issues. I ordered a bean burrito for my vegetarian daughter and paid 2$ extra for rice...turns out the beans have chorizo in it so they ended up giving her a 10$ rice burrito. Now I'm not vegetarian so I'd prefer the beans that way. The younger girl was so sweet and had great customer service so I'll keep the rating high for that alone. I finally tried their hottest salsa and it finally had a little bit of kick. The chips and salsa on the side were nice because the salsa wasn't spicy at all the first time. this time though, the salsa was good! So in all fairness before getting in all out experience at Miguel's, I had given them a shot at a Yelp event. So i knew exactly what I was getting. I went to their Peacock Market location and had their 3 taco combo plate with carnitas, of course I had the spicy salsa and it had a nice kick to it. The meat was flavorful and juicy!! the beans tasted like they were charro beans and not pinto beans. Rice was soft and moist and dry or crunchy like some places. I added some of the spicy red salsa to everything and it just heightened the flavors even more so. The market itself has a full liquor store and a sandwich place and a coffee/ice cream options. You can't go wrong. Afterwards you can finish off the meal with a scoop of ice cream and leave fully satisfied. read more

I got to try this place as part of a Yelp Elite event, so when my spouse suggested it for lunch one day, I knew we were in for a treat. These are seriously some of the best tacos I've ever had and I was born and raised in Fresno. My spouse loved his burrito as well, and in spite of it being huge, he finished it in short order. I also loved the ease of the online ordering. When it comes to work lunch, a place that allows me to order and pay online so I only have to drive there and pick up my food, in order to get back to work on time, will always get my business over other places. In spite of my rushed pick up, the owner (probably Miguel but I'm terrible with names and I don't want to assume) was so friendly and even offered me a sample of a tiramisu macron. I love this food! It is as authentic as one can get to mom's food. Miguel and I are brother and sister. Between Lisa, Miguel and their hard work they have recreated something special. A moment in time that you can't take away and their labor of love. My shredded pork gorditas were on point. Just like mom used to make. Paid for the order and waited for it to be ready! Another worker was great and happy to add jalapeños to the burrito to make it spicier! A hidden gem inside the Peacock carniceria market on Tollhouse in Clovis. Just a small taco counter in the market, but they are serving up some darn fine tacos. Plenty of meat, 3 different salsas to choose from, and an interesting fried chicken jalapeño taco. I ordered the chicken taco and the carne asada taco. The chicken tasted a little plain, even with the jalapeño, but the carne asada taco was bomb. My husband was happy with his huge chicken burrito. Decent prices and friendly service. Located inside a little market/liquor store. Got the breakfast burrito which was alright. Nothing too special. Was a good size and got the medium salsa which was probably the best part of my meal. Their most recent advertisement is a bit misleading it says Friday-Sunday 10.99 burritos but the cashier said nope it's only Friday and Sunday. A dash means "through" not "and" . First time trying this place! They were very kind, friendly, and helpful. There were no more people ordering so my order was very quick. I ordered the tacos plate with beans and rice. I also got a burrito for my husband's lunch and a Jar of their delicious salsa. The tacos were very tasty, the carnitas were On point flavor wise and tenderness. The amount of carnitas was great and the tortillas were soft. They almost tasted as if They were homemade. The salsa was spicy which was great for my taste. The beans were good but the rice needed a little bit of flavor. The burrito was good too. Just for the rice. I will definitely visit them again and get me more of those delicious tacos. I also got a jar of their fresh made salsa. It was medium heat but it turned out to be hot. I loved it. Great for a healthy snack. Corn chips and salsa. The ambiance is familiar they have plenty of seating Inside. The taco place is inside a grocery store called Peacock. I was craving some carne asada burrito, and Miguel's Artisan Recipes, located in Clovis, CA, looked promising, but it felt a bit short. I was a bit skeptical about how the food would turn out because it was located inside Peacock Mini Mart, which sells good varieties of cold beverages and alcohol. IDK some of the 5 stars reviews seems a bit SUS to each of own peoples opinion. The good 4/5 Hefty, good-tasting carne asada burrito. I was impressed; it tasted a lot better than other taquerias I've been to. I could have eaten 2 or 3 of these bad boys if I wanted to. When I got home, it was still warm, which was a plus. Their beans are also good, not as hard as in other places I won't mention. The owner came out, and he kind of resembles Carlos Mencia in a way, but they know how to make a good-tasting burrito along with good-tasting salsa. The owner and worker seemed friendly and chill-lax during my visit. The Bad 2/5 I asked if they had some flautas or taquitos because I saw them on Yelp, and the worker said no. Some of the rice was hard and undercooked; I had to spit some out while I was eating the burrito. For $15.00, it seems reasonable and competitive, but I felt the amount of carne asada given was a bit stingy. Also, I don't know if they give out additional salsa and charge customers, like at Robertito's in Clovis. In my opinion, to boost traffic and gain more popularity, Miguel's Artisan Recipes should have a burrito contest or an extreme hot salsa challenge. Even though my review isn't a solid 5 I will be back for an updated review soon. I tried this place for the first time last night. I ordered a handful of items to take home to the family. I was disappointed that they forgot to include one of my items but I should have double checked the bags before leaving. The loaded tamale without meat was good. The cheese quesadilla was thick. I wouldn't get the chicken taco again, I found it lacking flavor but the salsa helped. Hubby didn't have anything special to say about the torta but ate it all so that's a good sign. read more

His wife Lisa brought over our food, Well all I can say is why have I waited so long to eat here there food was outstanding as we were finishing our meal Lisa came over to us to ask us how did we enjoy the food we told her we are a little picky when it comes to Mexican food and we told Lisa she did a great job and the food was so delicious. We had tacos and enchiladas, guacamole and horchata everything was delicious with a depth of flavor reminiscent of beautiful Mexico. With the beautiful chance of "word of mouth" I happened on ordering a few tamales, tacos, and salsas from Lisa and Miguel through Facebook. At first I was nervous on doing so because I obviously didn't know them but having heard nothing but rave reviews from others in my local community that I knew I couldn't pass up this opportunity of homemade tamales and salsas. What's also the cherry on the top was that they do home deliveries! I know that their primary location isn't anywhere near me so knowing that they travel on their own time from Clovis from Fairfield really makes a statement on their food alone. With their new ordering system, you're able to go onto their website and preorder an assortment of tacos, tamales, Mexican pizzas, salsas, jams, and other traditional Mexican staples such as beans and rice. Everything is prepackaged in air sealed bags, labeled, and easy to either freeze/reheat, and eat! The salsas are delicious and can pack fire (if you like heat) but even so, their mild and medium spiced salsas are perfect for those that don't need too much spice. I'm now sure how many times I've ordered from Lisa and Miguel, but at this time I know I would order as much whenever their do venture up to Fairfield and that I have plenty of space in my freezer for their tamales and the turn around on them goes quick! My daughters and myself absolutely love their green chili cheese tamales and have ordered two dozen of them alone, while my husband can mow through all the tacos I'd order. For the tamales, I like to reheat in a steamer or even steam in the microwave. For the tacos, we easily reheat by putting them in the air fryer for a few minutes and done! Top it off with their verde or taco truck salsa, throw some cilantro and cheese and you've got a meal! The jams are delicious as well and are super useful for making charcuterie boards, simply smearing it on toast/crackers with cream cheese, on top of cheese cakes, and even in the middle of a grilled cheese! Ordered carne asada street tacos to go. Tacos and salsa were very good and customer service was too. I like their cute little open kitchen and the owner seems really involved. They seem to have stopped selling most of their retail salsa flavors, at least for the time being. I really have mixed feelings about sharing this review. I will have to share what many of you already know, Miguel's Salsa is not going to be a hidden gem for long. My wife and I went as a scouting mission to find the best authentic Mexican food in Fresno for our family and we did not get disappointed. First and always the most important is the food. It was Super Burrito's Friday. I had the Al Pastor and my wife tried the Carne Asada. The pork and beef in the burrito was perfectly marinated. The ingredients tasted fresh and had the perfect balance of acid and savory. The price q was very fair for the large portions we received. Miguel's had a cute bodega feel to it. They share the location with a grocery store, coffee shop and a third establishment. The service was spot on from the time we entered the establishment and got greeted with a smile and a sample of drinks with chips topped with Carne Asada and three different salsas. We will definitely go back with our family to try the menu more extensively. read more

We really kind of stumbled on this delicious little gem! We stopped at "Peacock Market" in Clovis for a grocery item, with plans for a quick lunch stop after. Stepping inside, we discovered several vendors. Miguel's peaked our interest so, lunch won out! I had a taco that was the best I've had in Fresno/Clovis. My husband tried the loaded burrito. We got stuck at the Fresno airport with a flight delay and there's no food there. Lisa and her husband saved our day. My two sons, ages 7 and 9, are super picky especially about Mexican food because we live 45 minutes from the border and we spend a lot of time in Mexico. Lisa and her husband drove out of their way to the Fresno airport to drop off carne asada tacos and a bean burrito and fresh salsa. The food was so good. My nine year old said, "these tacos are legit!" My seven year old said, "these tacos taste like Mexico." Definitely recommend their food. Had been seeing Miguel's salsa hyped up on instagram and checked Yelp to see great reviews, so we headed over to get a couple burritos. Firstly, the young guy taking our order was awesome - he was super friendly and was pitching the food hard, a great salesman...good service, he was patient and helpful. 5 stars for service and wait time. Ordered asada super burritos and was told Friday and Sundays they are discounted to $9.99, even better! Portion was large and food was made quickly, came very hot. However, we found the burrito to be pretty flavorless. Kudos that it wasn't sloppy or greasy, but I just couldn't taste much of anything. The asada was like nothing I'd had before, was really soft like it had been boiled? Didn't taste much seasoning on the meat, but a positive was it wasn't fatty. We could not really taste the difference in the fillings either; the onions tasted like the cabbage that tasted like the cilantro that tasted like the bland cheese and avocado. We both got the hot salsa, which was good flavor-wise, but not very spicy. Both of us gave up on eating before hitting the halfway mark on our burritos. Liked that they had a little butcher/meat case and premade salsa tubs. We got a Diablo salsa to go which I thought was a bit pricey at $7.50...hoping that maybe we just went on an "off" night, because I expected so much more from the reviews I read. However, I'm unsure if/when we will make a second attempt to be wowed by this spot. read more

Not a bad experience. The only thing I want to complain about is that the carne asada tacos were not carne asada. They were shredded beef.

Got the tacos with rice and beans, guac and chips and companion got their burrito. Chips are home made and tasty, as is the guac though the price was a bit steep for it. The tacos were street style and on point. Piping hot as they're made to order. Rice and beans are good, nothing special. Burrito was also good with all the fixings.
