Visited Mika French for dinner and we had an amazing time! For appetizers we tried their Sea Salt Edamame, Veggie Tempura, Beef Tataki. We tried a variety of their sushi rolls, sashimi and nigiris as well. I have to say this place has the freshest sushi around! Just wow! We also tried Uni Shots for the first time ever and wow. Definitely an acquired taste but I ended up really liking it. Just surprised of how fresh it tasted and how well presented it was. Pleasantly surprised and happy with my order. So much so, if I didn't have my two rambunctious kids with me, I probably would have ordered more. My hamachi kama was very tasty, but I was expecting it to be a bit larger. That's okay though because the taste made up for the lack of meat (still a fair amount though). My Salmon Skin Salad was also surprisingly good. My first bite tasted a bit "Smokey" but after that initial bite, every other bite was tasty AF.... I definitely could have used extra salmon skin, because it's absolutely my favorite. I've only ordered to-go from here twice now. I was craving a bento box lunch, so I ordered their chicken and steak hibachi. The price point for the chicken and steak hibachi with rice, broccoli, dumplings, and Cali rolls with miso soup seemed good. The food tasted good, too. I will say that if you order online, you need to know the number of your order that pops up when you place the order. When I arrived at the time the online order was stated to be ready, they couldn't find my food because I gave them my name. So, my order was ready and sitting on the shelf, but I had to wait while they rushed around searching for it. The second time I ordered to-go, it was to get their hibachi dinners for my husband and I. I wish I'd snapped a picture, because that was disappointing as far as the price point. It's basically the same amount of meat as the lunch portion in the hibachi bento box with just as much broccoli under the meat, but for almost $5 more. It also only comes with rice. Live and learn. Maybe we'll try to actually eat-in the restaurant one of these days to see if the ambiance helps make the whole experience better. read more

I came here the first time today to order for take out. The host lady at the front is very friendly and on top of her job. She is very polite too. I was sitting there waiting for my food and paid attention on how she made sure everyone gets seated. Every Togo orders gets packed and even asks customers how many chopsticks and what not they needed. I was sitting there close to an hour waiting only for my 3 rolls. She does notice my food was taking a long time. So she politely asked the chef there, I believe his name is Jonny. She asked if my order wasn't forgotten and the chef was very rude. Yelled "coming coming!! Don't push don't push!!!!" First of all, she did not push him. She was making sure that her customer, me, is taken care for. After that moment, I saw that she was quite scared to ask again. Another customer was asking for how long his order is going to take. All she can say was,"I don't know". Poor girl. Then before I left, I found out the chef was also the manager. That disgust me even more. Manager should know what customer service is and how to treat their employees. The sushi chefs are super patriotic and had American flag face masks so that was a nice touch. The restaurant is modern and sleek with a beautiful butterfly artwork on display. My server was super attentive and on it throughout my dining experience. I stopped in for some lunch after my workout and decided on the Sashimi sampler lunch special with miso soup and a green tea. The green tea was served hot and it was the perfect antioxidant with free refills. The sashimi was colorful and fresh and consisted of: 3 salmon, 2 tuna, 2 white tuna, and 2 yellowtail. This is an excellent establishment and my go-to for whenever anyone wants to get some sushi. The "French" part in the name refers to their presentation style at trying to make each dish look as delicious as they taste rather than imply any fusion-style cuisine. The Sexy City roll is a personal favorite with an amazingly perfect combination of flavors that make this a star dish. Presentation of the food was on point matching the clean chic decor of the restaurant itself, and even the seaweed salad looked like a work of art. The service was also top notch, friendly and knowledgeable answering any questions we had about the dishes and offering some great suggestions. The only item I tried so far that I didn't care for was the Victoria Secret, but their "worst" dish was only run-of-the-mill compared to the others and not bad in any sense. We stopped by for sushi on a Friday night, and we were pleasantly surprised with the service that we received, considering that they were so busy. Our waitress and the other food runners were so attentive, and that made our stop so enjoyable. The decor of the restaurant was so cute - way more elevated than the typical sushi restaurant. The bathrooms were also well-decorated and clean. The sushi that we had was very good. We were swayed by some of the reviews to get the Sexy City Roll, and it was so yummy. However, the star of the show was the Spicy Yellowtail Roll. It was delicious and a nice change from the typical spicy salmon or tuna that restaurants typically have. The rolls were plated well, and we enjoyed the sturdy stone platters that they were served on. We also had some wine, which was pretty good for the price. I get ubereats dollars from a variety of credit cards, and it often occurs that at the end of the month it's either use them or lose them. Mika French is a bit further than I usually would drive for a pickup lunch, but this time I decided to try someplace new. I ordered 2x the sashimi appetizer for pickup. My order was ready when I arrived, and the selection of fish was quite good for a local restaurant. The slices are thicker than I'd expect in Japan. The restaurant is also accessible from the Kroger parking lot. We were seating right away. They have a very large menu, so can get a bit overwhelming. But all of the sushi I have had here so far is delicious! They do have cold beer, sake, and win available. Sea salt edamame: I feel like the seasoning was a bit lacking and the edamame could've been cooked a bit longer. Ginger house salad (part of the shrimp udon): delicious and fresh! Shumai: pretty standard, the dipping sauce enhances the flavor well. California roll: your typical California roll, tasted good! Dragon roll: very fresh and flavorful! This one was my favorite. Happy roll: the tempura has a ice crisp to it. The outer wrapping gave it a nice slightly sour flavor. Spicy tuna: not too spicy but very fresh and flavorful. Chicken teriyaki: a bit more bland and the chicken was a bit tough. The gyoza was nice and fried rice (extra cost) is nicely seasoned. Shrimp udon: decent amount of shrimp and veggies. Very flavor - was a hit with the kiddos! Fried tempura ice cream: not bad, the outer tempura was really sweet though. Service was really nice. Tucked in a strip mall. This asian fusion restaurant was very good. Good to see at least 50% of customers and a line up of carry outs. They have tall booths so that is good. Started with a large sapppro which the waitress put into 2 glasses. Had the garlic edamame, Shia to start both really good. Then we ordered 3 rolls. A bit pricy for the rolls but they are full rolls. Came here for dinner recently and was immediately confused about what "French Sushi" is. The restaurant had good reviews so we took a chance and gave it a try. To clarify, nothing about this restaurant is actually French influenced. When we asked the waitress about the name, she said it's because the owner wanted the restaurant to seem "fancy like Michelin star places in France". This place is Chinese-owned and has food options that aren't under the category of Japanese fare. We ordered a couple nigiri platters and some yakisoba. The nigiri was extremely disappointing. The slices of fish were incredibly thin and clearly not fresh. They definitely tasted fishy which is concerning considering they are supposed to be specializing in raw fish. The yakisoba was not prepared in the traditional style and mainly tasted like Mongolian beef with noodles. Even though it takes me 35 minutes to get here from home, I ate here for the first time Sunday and came crawling back on Wednesday. They give you a blazing hot towel for your hands at the beginning of the meal. My husband and I each get a simple roll (spicy tuna or salmon) with the "sushi appetizer" (5 pieces nigiri) and this comes with complimentary sea salt edamame which came as a wonderful surprise. We had been waiting for this place to open quite a while now, and it was worth the wait! We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. We were in the restaurant for exactly 50 minutes, and this is how it went. We each ordered a glass of water, and it came right away. Their water does not taste like tap water. It was kept full throughout the meal. We started off with Spicy Shrimp Gyoza and Sea Salt Edmame. These came out in less than 5 minutes. I'm a huge fan of Gyoza and theirs are among the best I've ever had - freshly made and super crispy with spicy shrimp inside - standing up in a row with some mashed avocado all along the bottom. The Edmame were steamed and salted perfectly. We ordered our sushi rolls when the appetizers came out. We selected the Monster Roll, Double Salmon Roll, Fancy Tuna Roll and Shrimp Fried Rice. Our rolls began arriving as soon as they were ready - one at a time, in this order: Double Salmon, Fancy Tuna, then Monster. The Shrimp Fried Rice arrived last along with the Monster Roll. For dessert we had the Fried Cheesecake. With sushi, I like to get everything as soon as it's ready, so this staggered arrival was absolutely perfect for me. I know some people like their food all at once, but this isn't meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Freshness is measured in seconds. I have been looking for a good sushi place since I got to Georgia, and I've found a couple that are pretty good but it's a bit of drive to get to any of them. Until now.
