I have only tried Mika sushi through DoorDash, but each time is always a good time! The sushi is always so fresh and tasty, my fiancé and I have yet to be disappointed. Their appetizers are also pretty good as well. Usually I get bored with the special rolls halfway through eating them, but I love their special rolls! Also sometimes sushi taste bad the next day after putting it in the fridge, but these rolls still tasted just as delightful for breakfast! I don't know what kind of culinary magic the kitchen has, but it is working great! Maybe one day we will visit in person to find out. read more

Yum. Yum. Yum! This is definitely my new favorite sushi spot and it's a hidden gem for sure. It's a kinda blah shopping center for never thought to stop here until a neighbor told me it was good so I had to come check it out and am so glad I did! They know what they are doing! They are killing it with the food presentation and the interior of the restaurant is really nice. Then on top of it, the sushi was great! The sashimi cuts were giant and tasted very fresh. The Mochi was some of the best I've had! My only hiccup was the ginger salad was not great and it looked like nacho cheese on top but it was in fact ginger dressing and the black peppered salmon sashimi was weird but that could be personal preference and lastly, they used plastic straws (save the turtles! No plastic straws!) but regardless this place gets 5 stars! I'll definitely be back. Oh and the service was super fast and attentive and friendly! read more

FYI-Ownership here has changed, we miss you Jenny! The new ownership still puts out fresh sushi, but the place has a different feel. They have also made their sushi portions smaller, while trying to keep the same price point. We still go occasionally, but it's not the same. My wife and I just moved to the area and discovered Mika Sushi right away. We have visited here a couple times a week for the past three weeks. It's a great find for good and reasonably priced local sushi! We like to visit here for happy hour, or an early dinner. They offer a two for one sake and a two dollar daily beer special. In addition to $1 nigiri sushi, which is very good! I'm a big sushi fan and can confirm the quality, to date, has been good. We also like the Kama hamachi yaki, which is an appetizer of grilled yellowtail collar, it's delish! The tempura is also good, but we focus on the sushi. read more

Amazing, family-owned, "hole in the wall" gem. My husband and I had a wonderful experience dining at the sushi counter. Oh wow did we love our food from Mika! I've had the best sushi in both South Korea and Japan, and Cali had some phenomenal sushi too. But then we moved to Florida and literally everything there was just an abomination of food... Boy am I glad Arvadans have good palates because this place tastes super fresh and authentic. Had seen these sterling reviews on Yelp so my wife and I decided to give it a try. What a treat! 1) Ambiance/vibe--as with most smaller places, it can get a bit loud when full but I never really had a hard time hearing conversation. We also sat at the "bar" as it was so full but it was very pleasant and the seats were quite comfortable. 4 star. 2) Service--I was greeted almost immediately upon entering, I elected to sit at the bar and had a fresh water and menus within a minute. That really set the tone. We were checked on regularly but not intrusively. When I did need something, one of the waitresses noticed it and asked me if I needed anything. 5 Star. 3) Food: really enjoyed everything. We had the summer roll (as recommended on here) which was awesome, as well as seafood dynamite, a spicy tuna roll and an assortment of sashimi and nigiri.As noted elsewhere, the food was also presented with some flair and colorful plating (and even some dry ice!). 5 Star 4) Price: The sashimi was cut large and was $2/pc while the nigiri sushi was $1 a piece--quite the deal for fish that tasted very fresh and tender. We ordered much more than we could east and walked out of there with a bill of $80 including tax and tip. 5 stars Overall recommendation: absolutely recommended. First thing we noticed was the sign in the door that states "we don't care if you park in the front for 30 mins stay as long as you like" it gave us a very welcoming feeling. We were immediately greeted by the host who sat us right away even though we didn't have a reservation. The restaurant is not too big that makes it a little noisy but you can still hear your other party so it's not too bad. The staff is very polite and fast! They even offer to take pictures for my wife. She was very impressed with the way the sushi we ordered was presented. As for the sashimi it tasted very fresh and flavorful. My wife's favorite dish was the jalapeño yellow tail. Finally at the end of the meal we were presented with two small slices of chocolate coffee cake on the house! Made us want to order a bigger slice. Don't waste your money! Ordered the spicy crab roll which was the worst sushi I have ever put in my mouth... so fishy tasting I had to spit it out. Also ordered the shrimp tempera roll and found myself eating the shrimp tail. The fried rice is nothing special at all either. Overall very disappointed. Average product; average service. Inexpensive. Classic case of "you get what you pay for." My group of three agreed the sushi, miso soup, and salad were all bland. The egg rolls were mushy on the inside. The crab rangoon was good with a lot of filling in each piece. The only real wow factor though was the dry ice that accompanied the sushi platter for effect Waitress kept re-positioning our food which I found annoying. She also gave us one tiny metal cup of sweet sauce to share between us for our three appetizers. I was with my teenage daughters so it was sort of okay, but still not very hygienic (particularly with the current Covid-19 concerns). On that note, wait staff and sushi chefs wore masks. We were in town for a college hockey game last night. This place was close to the Apex Arena. I have seen a few reviews say best in Arvada/Denver area. I would say beyond that!! First of all, no wait for a table at 6:40pm on a Friday. No idea how/why that was, but snow was expected and it was cold. The staff was awesome, accommodating and attentive. Love the ambiance and decor. However, the presentation and food was the star. The table next to us had their rolls served on a boat complete with dry ice. TBH, we were a little jealous until ours arrived. Seriously, it's such a little thing, but it made our experience so much better. The only thing better than the presentation was the TASTE!! Everything we ordered was, I think someone else called it, delectable. We ordered the Mika Naruto roll, Mexican roll and Godzilla roll (pictured). We started with the Yellowtail Jalapeño and Golden Salmon appetizers. WOW! WOW! WOW!!! This place is so good, we may go back before we leave town!! read more

Today is the second time our take home meal was awful. When I ordered today I was very specific about the previous issues and asked to please make sure it was managed. I checked and it was the same issue. The beef teriyaki (Bento) was bland and tough.  After arguing about this issue I was offered to wait again for a meal to be made with a different meat. I asked for just a side of chicken teriyaki so it would be faster and the other food in the box wouldn't be wasted. She was going to charge me for the chicken. I just left.  When we got it home the Tempura were soaked in a sauce making them soggy on top of cold. I took time to reheat, thank you Ninja Air Fryer. Sautéed the beef and veggies with coconut aminos and beef was still bland and unpalatable.  The so-called teriyaki dip is so watered down it has no flavor. On top of it--the spider roll was overcooked and the oil is old. They were very dark, hard, and tasted like bad oil.  As a former restaurant server, kitchen staff, bartender, and manager with a spouse who is a former restaurant manager and owner, we know what happens when the food changes and fryer isn't tended. Previously, the beef teriyaki was glazed a bit crisp with tenderness and so much flavor. My favorite. We guess they're trying to keep food cost down and with that they gave up quality. It takes a really poor handling of a cow to give no flavor and I feel bad for that abuse.  There was absolutely no customer service and no compensation and so reason to stay because it seemed the server could care less about their product and reputation or that we were committed customers. We will look elsewhere. read more

This is my family's all time favorite places to eat out in the Arvada! Not only is the sushi delicious, but the service is great and they are quick. My dad growing up in Hawaii has raised us to know good sushi and be very particular about it and at Mika you can't beat the prices or the quality! 10/10 recommend for any sushi lovers! They didn't notify me when my takeout order was ready. I don't know how long it was sitting there but it definitely wasn't warm once we got at home. Next they missed my miso soup from the order. Next - False advertisement. They have a sign outside the door that says "to go sake buy one get one free" when I ordered it inside they said it was for dine in only and would not honor their false advertisement sign.
