This was the first time going for my wife and I. Service was great. Our waitress,Kelsey, was very attentive. The beer from the tap was not very cold. The wings were excellent. They have their own version of a spicy BBQ sauce that we really liked. The burger was very good too. I especially liked the house made fries. The place has a nice setting, but it could use some more decorations. Although, we ate at a high top in the bar, We also liked the outdoor patio. The patio was great today! Nice weather. Great summer salad! I visit Chattanooga every 6 weeks or so and often times stay at the Hampton Inn that's across the street. The service is great and the servers are very friendly. The food has never disappointed! The specialty cocktails I've had have been great and the craft beer selection is great too! read more

Wow! In an area with so many eating choices, I wondered what Mike's could add. For starters, the patio is great (dog-friendly!), the menu choices varied and appealing (there's something for everybody), and the prices are just right. All around amazing! We came in with a large group for brunch and couldn't have had a better experience. We ended up having way more people than our reservation was for and they were so understanding and accommodating. The food was so good too. Try the french toast, seriously you won't regret it. The food was ok We got a good appetizer and drink. However, my medium burger came pretty raw inside after I took a bite. The waiter took my whole plate. He returned with a burnt burger with the same bite out of it and cold French fries. This means they cooked something I ate off DURING A PANDEMIC on a grill that then would cook other people's food on. Not cool. I love Mike's Bigger Hole In The Wall so my kids and I went to Mike's Tavern thinking it would be similar. I gave it 3 stars because it is incredibly clean and a nice open space with outside seating, if desired. Besides that, we ended up sending food back (that was going to be taken off the bill but wasn't) and when the replacement came out the sides weren't included. The staff seemed unenthusiastic and bothered. Mediocre place. We won't be back to the Tavern. read more

We were staying at the Hampton Inn across the street and decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed! Good selection of draft beers and yummy food. I discovered this restaurant based on reviews and the chef is a retail customer of mine at S.A.S. shoes. WOW!!!!! B.Marys are EPIC! I have to get their Pepper Jack grits recipe!!! Ambrosia! OH SO good!!! Everything that my family has eaten there has been so awesome, it's our " go to" for brunch and dinner now! Delicious! My wife and I had the Pan seared Salmon with delicious vegetable medley of grilled zucchini, squash and onions, my wife also enjoyed her fried okra and I thought my Cole slaw was very tasty. The Dining Divas went to lunch Wednesday May 1st at Mike's Tavern on highway 153 in Hixson. This is a new establishment and has only been open three weeks, so please bare that in mind that they are still trying to get everything tweaked out. There were 14 of us and we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is very inviting. It has lots of natural lighting and the high ceilings by it seems larger than it is. Our servers, Chris and Wendy were awesome. They kept everything flowing and bringing drinks. One of our Divas has a shellfish allergy and Chris made sure they prepared her French Fries away from the oil the shellfish was cooked in. They have outside seating available and a full bar. The manager Kane come to our table and inquired about our food. Most was satisfactory but some entrees had some issues. The meat on the Reuben sandwich was dry with cold French fries. The smoked bacon on the salads where delicious as was the pizza and fish and chips. If you go please let them know if things are satisfactory or if something needs to be changed. They value your opinion. We rated Mike's Tavern at 4 out of 5 stars, it would have been lower if it had not been for the servers and the open for suggestions from the manager. This is going to be one of the go to places for fun in Hixson. Go check it out! read more

So this place opened and we didn't know much about it! It is called a "Tavern" which didn't describe them to be family friendly to us so we decided against it a couple times. Then I saw a woman at my son's school with a shirt on from there and I asked her about it. She told me it's totally family friendly and the food is great! Well since they are open until midnight we went there after my son's baseball game. We arrived at maybe 9:15pm on a Friday night and there were more wait staff than there were customers. We were seated and our waiter was at our table very quickly. We ordered beer and wine and water and sprite for the kids and our drinks came out quickly. Everything on the menu sounded amazing (except their pizza oven doesn't work- apparently it's had problems since they got it- they are sending it back soon) anyway I ordered the BBQ Brisket sandwich - I'm from Texas where BBQ is beef not pork- and I was NOT disappointed! I wish I had gotten a picture of it. The sandwich was very large with the perfect amount of sauce and the brioche bun was fluffy and warm. The brisket was perfectly cooked with burnt ends (the best part) on every piece. I also got Mac and cheese. Now it was very good, creamy and the pasta was cooked correctly but there WAS onion and garlic in it which I wasn't expecting. It added extra to it that did taste good but if onions upset your stomach like they do mine I thought I would just put that out there. I don't remember what my husband got but he did get the French fries which were a generous helping of, what I call, shoe string fries. They were seasoned and tasty and we asked for honey mustard for them and that was a bit runny but also tasted very good. My son got chicken fingers and they were a very generous portion 2-3 large chicken strips with yellow rice. Then we come to desert. I was surprised my husband wanted the strawberry shortcake because there was cheesecake on the menu. This was a simple desert- warmed up pound cake with whipped cream and strawberries on top but it was good. All over this place was very good and I wanted to let people know that it is just as family friendly as Chili's or Applebee's would be. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the food is good . The service on the other hand is below par. Out waitress took 30-40 mins after we ordered our appetizers to come back to our table to put our order in for our entrees. We had to ask for our ticket 2 times before she brought it to us and took 15+ mins to pick it up from our table . The food and drinks made up for the awful service but we will NOT be back anytime soon . read more

I'd ordered delivery thru Uber Eats and an hour after I placed the order, Uber Eats cancelled the order. Mike's Tavern had already prepared my food & knew it was too late for me to order from another restaurant. One of their kitchen staff offered to bring me the meal at no charge (I of course tipped)!!!! We went for Sunday brunch. Our friends had raves about how good this place was. First, the quality of the food does not measure up to the menu price. My husband ordered Chicken and waffles. The waffle was smaller and thinner than an eggo toaster waffle. The chicken was beyond well done, and the hash rounds were the same as you get at Hardee's except Hardee's are better. I had a tavern omelet that was served with the same tough Hardee's hash rounds. The atmosphere was very loud. The floors are concrete and everything echos very loudly. I don't mind paying for good food at a nice restaurant, but this place is way over priced for what they have to offer. Chattanooga has too many great restaurants for you to waste your time and money at Mike's Tavern. read more

The restaurant is in an awkward place. The chicken Pallellini had no taste. The "Alfredo noodles" tasted like dish water and a little butter. The chicken was soaked in oil, on top of that there was no taste. Also the waitresses are very kind, but they don't pay attention to if drinks are empty or if a table has utensils. read more
