Mikes is sooo good. Great small take out sandwiches. Now serving late nights. I noticed nearly everything closes in Homer at 9 but Mikes opens back up from 9 to 1 am.

Ate here 7 years ago, last time I was in Homer. Decided to try them again. So glad we did. Nothing fancy here. If's salads and sandwiches. I had the Jessies Grill. Absolutely one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. My co-worker had the Mariner and was equally impressed. Friendly service. Look forward to returning.

I really forget how good a sandwich can be sometimes. Luckily, we have places like Mike's that are here to remind us. I got the Jessie's grille and it was so delicious! Every bite was heaven. Service was super friendly and easy. Would definitely recommend this spot for a fast, tasty, laid back meal in Homer.

Oh my goodness this sandwich (The Mariner) was good!!! It was the perfect way to start the day being a tourist in Homer. The chicken was so tasty, and the texture was perfect for the sandwich. The sauce tied all the veggies, chicken and bacon together. I think my ONLY complaint was that it was really small and a little confusing that we had to sit in the next door Boba place. I think I personally just wanted a little more space but maybe I just came on the wrong day or something. I'd definitely come back next time I bring the girls for a girls weekend trip. I was full for hours!! The service was fast too. Waited only 10 minutes until we got our food and there was complimentary coffee!!

In a tiny Alaska town packed with outstanding places to eat, Mike's sits near the top. From the outside, it looks like a large coffee stand. Although they do have insanely good coffee, a coffee stand this is not! This is a full-on restaurant. It's hard to articulate a theme throughout the food, they've got a bit of everything from classic sandwiches to more inventive scrambles and even some stuff with seafood because: Homer. I'd say the common thread is that everything tastes so BRIGHT and FRESH. You order at the counter and get coffee refills at the counter, I love this setup. I can get coffee when I feel like I'm ready. I'm not at the mercy of a pour that may never come. The décor here is great. Quirky, playful, fun. And, I have to mention, they have my all-time favorite hot sauce here: Secret Aardvark from Portland, OR. My sister just shipped me a case of it. That's how much I love it. This is the first place I've ever seen it in Alaska! On Sundays they also have an extra-special brunch menu. One of the menu items had the word "Broder" in it, and was inspired by one of my favorite places to eat when I lived in Portland. Mike told me they regularly take trips to the lower-48 for inspiration for new dishes. Just go here. ONE LAST THING: Mike's is actually open in the winter, many of the other great spots in Homer (La Baleine Café, Finn's Pizza, Little Mermaid) are very much CLOSED from Sep-April. ONE MORE THING...This place reminds me a lot of Froth & Forage just outside of Anchorage. Although this place was tecnically first, so maybe F&F reminds me of Mike's ;)

this was their oven, roasted turkey sandwich that had avocado and cheese. Truly, an amazing sandwich, so filling, so good.

Great experience, loved the people and the food! Space was tight, but we were able to find a table and enjoy Sunday Brunch.

Order the "Reggie". Pork sausage, egg, and cheddar cheese on a cheddar biscuit smothered in sausage gravy. Really good.

This guy seemed annoyed that we showed up in his establishment. He was rude and condescending. Definitely not a place to go.

I'm a regular and get the half order biscuits and gravy every time. Also best chocolate chip cookie in town -- the chocolate chip walnut!

The food at The Alibi really is the best in town!…read more It doesn't matter what brings you in: the staff is friendly, welcoming, quick, and knowledgeable; the menu is fulfilling and reasonably-priced; and the vibe is exactly what we all need in our lives.

Yes, I have been back to visit my dearly beloved "best fries in Alaska" and I can confirm that they…read morestill retain the number one spot. This place was so packed tonight, because it's the height of the tourist season (we couldn't get parked for a good 10 minutes) and so the place was HEAVING and packed to the rafters. Even so, we were seated immediately, and the fancy water carafe brought to us. Obviously I think most of the people in here are tourists. Most don't look Alaskan, if you know what I mean. I order the sublime Parm Fry Stack, that I've been dreaming about for 7 months, and he got, oh who cares what he got, I don't remember. He should write his own reviews. Despite the jam-packed dining room, it was not overly noisy, and you could hear your conversation. I had an unfortunate experience at a cafe recently, where I encountered one of those people who love the sound of their own voice, instead of chowing down on some good food. Fortunately there were none of those type in here, and so I got to appreciate my Parm Fry Stack in peace. Our server seemed surprised that I only wanted the Parm Fry Stack, and not a proper entree, and we wouldn't be sharing them between us, along with our main meal. No! Potatoes can be a main too. Well. You know the last time I had them, I was impressed. It was a sizable portion. This time, it was an absolutely enormous portion. A DAUNTING portion. Even I was dubious that I could manage it. But they were as epically delicious as the first time with no difference in flavour at all, which I am supremely grateful for. I don't give out awards such as Number 1 fry in Alaska lightly, but this humongous beast has earned its place, and retained it with consistent quality. Absolutely beautiful!
