We have some type of respiratory infection and really wanted soup. I was too lazy to make some and too germy to go out. I follow this restaurant on Facebook and decided to order delivery through Grubhub. I'm so glad I did. The chicken noodle soup was hot and so delicious. I hate to say it, but it's better than mine. It really hit the spot and is exactly what we needed. We also got sandwiches which will feed us for the next few days, they're so huge. Both the meat and cheese were generously stacked on a delicious and soft sub roll. Perfection. I ordered the Italian cookies on a whim, but didn't love them. They're not made by the restaurant, they're from a bakery in New Jersey, so I think they'd be perfect if Mike or his wife wanted to start baking Italian cookies! Like they don't have enough to do... We have been going to the original place for years, but was happy to stumble upon the new place where Mike has now landed! The sandwiches are not for the feint of heart as these gut busters are huge! Lots of great choices to pick from and they have an array of salads to choose from at the counter. You order at the counter and then wait for your meal. Super townie local spots are always fun to try. Either the food will be horrible or a gem. I asked the lady on staff what the best dessert is here and she said the bread pudding. It was freshly baked as I walked in and was bomb even though it's served room temperature. I ordered a reuben sandwich (lower east side) for $14. The meat is stacked and loaded. It'd not the best reuben, but they certainly don't cheat you out of meat. Good little local spot for lunch if you're in the area. read more

Sandwiches are overly loaded with meat and toppings to the point you can hardly eat them. Way overpriced too. $40 for two sandwiches and some cold egg rolls that tasted like they had come directly from the refrigerator. I would rather go to Brooklyn Deli and pay half the price and be able to enjoy my meal. It's too bad too because it's a small family owned shop nearby home but we won't be going back at those prices. Just because you put a bunch of meat on a sandwich, doesn't mean you can charge double. Maybe consider adjusting the portions and consider folks are barely affording food costs right now. I absolutely love this place. I have never gotten a bad meal. We usually stop by on our way home from Inverness. The hotdogs are delicious as all the heroes the heat and eat meals are really good. Sometimes when I really don't feel like cooking, I'll call and order it through GrubHub. In fact, sometimes if I'm in there, I'll just grab a couple of the heat and eats and put them in the freezer. I have t had anything here that was bad or even mediocre. Everything here is over the top delicious and a great bang for your Buck. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place is in a little underwhelming strip mall. When you walk inside Mike's Place, it all changes. Great looking place. Clean and well decorated. But, who cares. I'm there for breakfast. That Taylor Ham breakfast sandwich I ordered...WOW!! Big, loaded with Taylor Ham and a perfectly cooked runny egg. Go there for that sandwich. It's straight out of a New Jersey Deli. If you know, you know! That sandwich was, without question, the best sandwich I have ever had. Ever. Just had the best lunch!! They lured me in with a special that popped up on my Facebook this morning and I'll be back for more. The special was a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich between two maple syrup, infused waffles with sautéed onions, Munster cheese, and a lovely Cajun drizzle... Did I forget there was bacon involved as well. It was delicious and enough for 2 meals. Hubby had a turkey sub that should've been called a mile high turkey sub, fresh and also delicious. I got the Mama Mia meatball sub. The regular size. It's massive! It is absolutely the best morsel of food I've had in Citrus County since moving from NJ 15 years ago! If your looking for a good quick sandwich, then this may be your place. I found that being a new restaurant, it appeared that they assumed that you knew what to expect in terms of splitting orders, having food cut into smaller pieces, wanting plates, maybe some salt and pepper on the tables would have been nice.. You have to order at the counter, then go back to the counter to pick up your order.. NOT my cup of tea...Why bother going out if you have to serve yourself and in this way, they do not separate themselves from a fast food chain. Who appeared to be the owners, were very nice and attempted to be hospitable, however, the younger girl, did not get my vote for employee of the year. It seemed that she was either a smart ass or made a very poor attempt at being humorous when my wife asked for another plate; again, assuming that we knew their rules. The food is pricey, although, I think in today's inflationary climate, it is to be expected..
