Ugh such an incredible experience! I love all the visual decor and vegan activism within the building. There are also some vintage video games that you can actually play for a few coins. Upon ordering food I was met with a kind and patient gentleman. Oh, and for students, you can get a student discount! After ordering, it only took about 5 minutes for the food to come out, nice and hot! Absolutely delicious. They have bathrooms too if needed (which, like me, you probably will after dealing with the saucy goodness). Overall, a very nice atmosphere and satisfied cravings. Vegan Mike is in the top 3% of all vegan restaurants I've had across 5 continents. In my opinion, they are worth more stars than I can assess in terms of taste quality. They serve primarily bar style and fast foods, but with soy-based protein. Although the food is very expensive (ranging from $16-$17), the portion sizes are very generous, and it is well worth every penny. For our meals, we had The Tacos, Chorizo Crunch Wrap, and Chik'n Loko. The Tacos are a set of four with four options, in which they normally split the tacos at a maximum of 2 flavors; however, the server was so kind to make an exception and give us one of each: shrimp, steak, chorizo, and chicken. I did not try the steak; however, you cannot go wrong with any of those options! The Chorizo Crunch Wrap is a vegan powerhouse and was really hard to distinguish whether it was plant-based. The Chorizo Crunch Wrap was the best by a long shot. All of our options seemed to be seasoned to perfection. Also, if you're a person that has a sweet tooth, they also have plenty of desserts such as cookies amongst other items upon request. This place was not really busy. It has a really chill vibe with Spanish acoustics on the speakers and a few TVs for entertainment. I can definitely see this place jumping on a mid-summer day. I have been here a few times as my parents are vegan and it is always a hit! The vibes are so fun with all the games and cool decor. So picture this: it's my lunch break, I'm hungry-hungry, but also trying to give my body a break from meat (my stomach was probably cheering). I stroll into Mike's Vegan Grill, not 100% vegan myself, but I dabble. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side... but when they slid me TWO "chicken" patties on my sandwich, I forgave them instantly. I love that I cannot remember what this restaurant used to be because Mike's Vegan Grill is in the perfect location. There is a very welcoming ambiance when you enter, with Good Vibe signs and pleasant music playing. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and given enough time to look everything over prior to ordering. And when you're there, you'll notice that you cannot smell the food. Like there's no overpowering grease smell or fried food smell, it's just a clean atmosphere. I will preface my review by saying that I am absolutely not vegan, I'm not vegetarian, I just wanted a cleaner eating option this day. I ordered the Carolina Burger, the Philly Cheesesteak Rolls and a side of fries and it only took about 10 minutes to get my food. I had to eat on the go but if anybody saw me, in my car, eating this burger, you'd think I'd be embarrassed by the way I was eating. With the ample chili and coleslaw topping, this burger was big and filling. Whatever the special sauce was on that burger, I could drink it. I knew it wasn't meat, you can tell it's vegan, but there was no meat missed in this dish at all. The fries tasted clean and less processed, with good seasoning on them. The Philly cheesesteak rolls were the best, that would've been the less messy dish to eat on the go. The dish came with 3, long, fried-filled egg rolls and a side of dipping sauce. They were cheesy, filling Philly rolls, that would rival some of the non-vegan options in the area. I will definitely be back, I hear their chick'n sandwich is worth another visit! read more

First, the atmosphere of this place was very refreshing! It's so cute and welcoming. A great place to eat - I did takeout. I got the shrimp po boy and fries and it tasted amazing. I've been wanting a po boy forever and it's the main thing I miss when I became a vegetarian. This got my fix in without a doubt. The fries were good and not severely greasy. Most restaurants overly grease vegetarian food at times and these are seasoned to perfection. The soft serve was my fav. They use oat milk and it was great to enjoy soft serve without it hurting my stomach. Now, the mango lemonade was EVERYTHING , it was the highlight. The customer service was also exceptional. Mike's was great! We got buffalo wings (some of the best I've had -- your regular soy drumsticks we know and love, but breaded for an extra crispy touch). The sauce was great and I'd like to try their other flavors next. We also got a buoy honey pepperoni pizza and wow - the pepperoni was very realistic and the hot "honey" added a nice touch. The crust was a bit more like a frozen pizza but still no complaints here. I highly recommend stopping in!! It's on a commercial strip, so not the cutest area, but the building stands out with its a-frame build and bright green paint. You can tell they put a lot of time and thought into the curb appeal and it looks great. Also clean and bright inside. It seemed slow at 7pm the Saturday before Christmas, but maybe they mainly do takeout? We did get takeout. It was ready exactly when we requested for it to be and staff was nice. Let me say that I am not vegan, but the food at this place is terrific! I always get the same thing, the what the cluck sandwiches and they are loaded with toppings, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes special sauce, pickles on a nicely toasted bun. When they were the food truck, I was stuck on the hotdogs which are great as well and of course, the seasoned fries which I sometimes ask for light seasoning. For my Greensboro folks - this is located at the old Ghassan's on West Gate City Blvd. Mike's is conveniently located next to the Coliseum. From the moment we entered we were cheerfully greeted by the servers. They were VERY patient and offered great recommendations! I did the Steak and Cheese with sweet potato fries while the sister did the BBq special which came with free fries and a drink. The food was soooooo Amazing!!! And the owner stopped in - sat down and chatted with us for about 15mts - and you know I had to get a pic. He just purchased the old strip club next to them and they are currently renovating same. There were many options we considered ordering as much of the menu looked tasty, and after much deliberation we went with the Philly cheesesteak and an order of their fiesta fries and we very much enjoyed our meal! The burger was juicy, messy and flavorful just like I like it. And it tasted no different from a regular burger. My cousin and I had just arrived in town and was looking for a nice vegan restaurant in the area so that we could have something to eat before going to the GHOE step show at the Greensboro Coliseum. We searched Google to get some suggestions and came across this restaurant. We decided to try it out as it was about four minutes or less from the Coliseum. The outside of the building is painted in green and black which provided a fun and inviting look. The interior also has a fun and calming vibe. Upon entering, we were greeted by the cashier, Alex, in a friendly and professional manner. We both ordered identical meals: vegan Philly cheesesteak with fries and a mango lemonade. We were given an order number to place on the table as we were dining in. We walked around to find a table that was cleaned. One of the reasons why I am giving this restaurant 4 stars and not 5 stars is because there were a few tables that were not yet cleaned off. The one we ended up choosing was the cleanest of those other ones, but it still needed to be wiped off which Alex was happy to do. Our food came out in a timely manner. The fries were good, but there were a good bit of burnt ones in there. Alex was kind enough to give us a replacement of fries after being notified of this. The Philly cheesesteak was absolutely scrumptious! The bread was soft and moist, and the meat substitute was seasoned perfectly. The onions, peppers, and special sauce really brought it altogether in a burst of wonderful flavors in my mouth. I truly enjoyed this cheesesteak and was wishing that I had ordered one to go as well. I was impressed by the quality, quantity, and taste of this cheesesteak. I would absolutely go back there to try it again the next time that I am in town. The homemade mango lemonade was also really good. It was a bit expensive though, $7.00. The bathroom looked and smelled clean. This vegan spot was definitely a great find. It was moderately priced though. For a sandwich, fries, and a drink, the cost was about $25 - $26. Although this restaurant is costly, the delicious tasting food makes it worth it. Charlotte had a little bit of damage from Hurricane Helene on Friday, so our first two choices of places to eat were not open. A quick Google search led us to Mike's Vegan Grill, and while they didn't answer their phone, we decided to check them out anyway to see if they were open. It's a bit hard to find, and the directions in the parking lot didn't help much, but it paid off well for us. The patty melt was excellent, and so was the Nashville fried chicken sandwich. The chicken tenders were also good, and the cheese fries were great. Also really good were the soft-baked chocolate chip cookies and the Oreo milk shake, which was so thick that you could've held it upside down for 90 seconds and not spilled a drop. A big menu, too. I would've loved to have tried the bratwurst and one or two of their specialty hot dogs. Loved Mike's, and if I'm in Charlotte again, this'll be my first stop. read more

I used to go to college here (shout out to my alma mater-NCA&T) and while passing through, I learned the old Ghassan's (yes, that's how long it's been since I lived in Greensboro) is now a vegan spot. Think comfort food that just so happens to be vegan--that's what Mike's is like. The ambiance is quirky but cool and the staff is well, harder to quantify. We ordered, they took our order but there was no banter, so I can't speak on their customer service. But the food..wow! It is amazing. I got The Carolina dog and my husband got the Philly cheesesteak. I have never been so mad. I took one bite of that cheesesteak and I was mad I had JUST a hotdog! The dog was flavorful, topped with all the classic toppings of a true Carolina dog (and if you know, you know that is a dog with coleslaw), but it paled in flavor to the Philly. I will be honest, it was NOT made like a traditional Philly. Instead, it was peppers, onions, and Beyond Beef seasoned and served on soft bun. It taste more like a loose hamburger. Took a trip to Greensboro just to check out this spot! I live in CLT and have been trying to catch this truck for years! It's a beautiful building inside and out. The food is 10/10 and tbh, I am quite sad I haven't experienced this food sooner. The flavor profile of everything is amazing and spot on for what it's representing.
