Oh wow... what a disappointment... We live nearby and frequent a sister restaurant up the road (Barka), and while we have seen the reviews on Milagros for a while, due to a few warm recommendations we decided we might as well check it out for ourselves. The place looks nice, has a square bar with upside down vegetation, and has a very interesting concept of perpetual happy hour (which IMHO is silly and I'd rather just be shocked at their low prices in the menu) it's 30% off drinks and 20% off food. The service was decent, but unfortunately things fell apart with the food and drinks With the exception of the guac that was decently sized, fresh, and decent though under seasoned, everything else was bland, and I mean everything, the margaritas, the ceviche (!!), the octopus, and the worst by far was the chicken fajitas, that was tough, un seasoned, and for some reason dredged in flower (and on top of we both had stomach issues the day after). First time visiting. Once you get to the front door and inside, it is visually very appealing. The atmosphere is amazing The decor is great not too much not too over the top. It really makes you feel like this is someplace you want to be. The service was also very good. The food absolutely left something to be desired. Came here on a Sunday early afternoon with about 9 other individuals. We were quickly greeted and shown to our table. Though the group didn't arrive at the same time, our waiter, Kevin, was attentive and provided updates on options as we trickled in. We ordered a variety of dishes, and there were little complaints about any of the dishes. I ordered the French toast bites as an appetizer and steak and eggs for my entree. The French toast bites came with syrup and condensed milk and were delicious! Highly recommended. My eggs got mixed up with someone else's eggs as we both ordered the same dish, but it was no big deal. I also got the bottomless options for 2 hr and was very impressed with the options. We were able to pick from mimosas, prosecco, bloody mary, and margarita. I tried margarita on the rocks and frozen coconut margarita. My favorite was the coconut margarita. It was delicious and just strong enough. Ambience... very nice neutral palette with tables and sections for large parties. Thereby was a DJ there, but the music was too low to realize that until we saw him packing up. The music wasn't top 40 music. Really wish the dj was more engaging. Milagros is seriously one of my favorite spots! I went with friends and had the best time--amazing vibes, friendly staff, and the food? Soooo yummy I'm still thinking about it. The guac was super fresh and flavorful (I could've eaten it with a spoon tbh), the tacos were loaded and delicious, and the margaritas? Dangerous in the best way. Milagros is a beautiful restaurant that is one of North Jersey's best kept secrets. The decor was classy and welcoming while the daily specials make any day a good one to stop by. I checked out Milagros tonight with a couple of friends who are frequent patrons but this was my first time. We stayed at the bar and enjoyed the DJ'S set. Since I arrived after 9pm, the margaritas for ladies were only $10 which was the perfect opportunity for me to try one. I had a blackberry margarita and the bartenders were super fast and very attentive. The marg was delicious! They also served complimentary chips and salsa which were very tasty. I have been here before. When it was TGIF, apparently. It felt familiar on entry, and I was hoping it would be at least as good as TGIF. The verdict: Sadly, no. It's a bit ritzy overall inside, but the bar sits up center on a higher level, which kind of detracts from the formality of the rest of the place. The bartenders were sporadic - sometimes paying us plenty of attention, sometimes forgetting to pay any attention to us compared to the the few other bar patrons. I can offer the following regarding the food and beverages: * Only 4 beers on tap. Ordered a XX and it came out really pale and watery. The keg was in correctly, so no idea what went wrong there, but only 4 beers? Sigh. Other overpriced and undersized drinks available. I ended up with a Michelada since at least a pre-bottled beer is a known quantity. As I'm enjoying my spicy, salty beverage, the bartender says "do you like it? Oh, they make it 20 times better in Mexico." So... you're telling me you're bad quality here?? * Food in general was overpriced. Fortunately we arrived during happy hour - we were COMPLETELY unaware of this, and COMPLETELY not expecting 50% off our drinks. Okay, that made the drink prices reasonable. We also got 20% off our food, but it was Taco Tuesday and those were supposed to be 30% off. So sure, the one discount more than made up for the other, but an utter lack of detail in the menu. They did encourage us to come back during happy hour again. * Chips come out in a clearly store-bought, 4-color, artificial pattern. The orange salsa dip they bring is the least salsa-like I've ever had. It has as much spice as my kind grandmother, bless her heart... as in, none whatsoever. The green spicy salsa was about as spicy as my grandmother's mail deliverer... as in, barely at all. * We split tacos. The chicken tacos were fairly flavorless, needed a generous dose of the green sauce to get anywhere there. The Baja fish tacos were actually decent. Not sure what "vegan mayo" is or why one needs to be vegan on a fish dish. They did prepare the fish grilled instead of fried, which I appreciate - do ask for that. * Oh, and a couple of birthdays were celebrated. Loudly, of course, which totally defeats the upscale vibe. I saw one dessert? Cocktail? It was full of rainbow sprinkles, which were still left at the end of the night and I was so curious what was in there. * Finally, the people next to me left with half their plate untouched. I would have loved to grab a spare calamari or five, but the plate was cleared while the bill was still being processed. I had not a chance to sample for myself any food that would recover a star. I got food poisoning here My parents, sister, her friends, and I went here to celebrate my sister's birthday. We had to wait over an hour for the appetizers (we ordered octopus and calamari), when they did come I felt terribly nauseous after eating them. When the main finally did come I had already lost my appetite and threw up 3 times before I went to lay down in the car. Several of my sister's friends also threw up. Throughout the night I woke up to vomit multiple times, I lost count. My mom tried to feed me soup and crackers but I couldn't keep anything down. I felt sick for 3 days and missed 2 days of school. I went to the doctor, was diagnosed with food poisoning, and was given anti nausea medication. We later went back to the restaurant and they refused to pay for my medical bill. read more

I would really recommend their Prefix Brunch and Bottomless Drinks, since they are great value for money, and both the Food and Drinks tasted great. Service was a bit slow but the Staff were helpful and friendly. Was so excited to try out this new(ish) Mexican place in our area. It's definitely more of an upscale Mexican place although the prices are as expected and not overly expensive. While I did like it and really want to give it 4 or more stars (because I loved my main dish - the Birria Tacos) - I will say it fell a little flat in a couple areas. Definitely would come back to try it again though. The guacamole was definitely fresh, a little creamy but had way too much lime juice. I enjoy lime in my guac, however this was overpowering. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and they were cooked well past medium rare (which is fine and normal), but it didn't have much flavor/seasoning and only tasted like grill char/burn. I have a lot to say about this place, and very little is good. First, I want to say the place is severely understaffed and the waiters are overworked. They did as good of a job given the circumstances they are under, but the struggle and chaos was palpable. Our waitress was super kind and I do want to note that the next few critiques have nothing to do with her, because everything that was bad about this restaurant purely rests on the shoulders of the kitchen staff. Although we got our guacamole appetizer rather quickly, we had to wait a full hour for our entrees. The same can be said for a lot of the tables around us. The ones that came in around the same time as us had also been waiting and one table ended up cancelling their entrees and leaving, while another was playing with cards they had on them just to keep them occupied. When our food did come out, I had thought I was given the wrong order because my "burrito" was actually a glorified chicken wrap. There was nothing indicating this was supposed to be a Mexican dish, much less a burrito. It was just bland, grilled chicken with lettuce, tomatoes (not the pico de Gallo that was promised) and some cheese. It was missing the chipotle sauce it was supposed to have, and just about everything else that make a burrito a burrito. I did not order a complex Mexican dish, I ordered a staple in this cuisine and it boggles my mind how they messed it up so badly. If you had told me they ran to a deli and bought the wrap I would have believed you. And they made me wait an hour for it and then wanted to charge me $18.50 for it... No thank you. On top of that, everyone else's food was cold. Overall, this place was way overpriced for what you were getting and what they were trying to call "Mexican" cuisine. If you can't make something as simple as a burrito, please rebrand yourself as American or some sort of fusion fare restaurant, because this was the poorest excuse for a Mexican restaurant. The wait times for the food were also ridiculous, especially to get cold food as a result. I would not recommend and we will not be going back. I have no pictures of my meal because I was so in shock of what it was (or rather wasn't) and we sent it back, but just look up a QuickChek wrap and that's what it looked like. read more

When Wifey and I saw Milagros was coming in to replace the old TGIF here in Parsippany we weren't quite sure what to expect but hoped for some great Mexican food. What we didn't expect was some genuine high-end Mexican cuisine. We arrived without a reservation, but we're seated quickly up at the tables around the very well stocked bar. The decor in here is great and totally stepped away from the dark TGIF theme the old place had. It's bright with beautiful seating. Our server brought over some chips and salsa and we ordered two "Cadillac" margaritas. When she came back with our drinks (they did take longer than expected-seemed like 15 minutes). The chips were delicious-seemed nice and fresh - and the salsa tasted great but was a bit unconventional in its consistency...had the consistency of a thick marinara sauce. I'd love to know how they made it. For dinner we started with an appetizer of Camarones al tequila - shrimp and garlic toast in one of the most amazing sauces I've ever tasted. My only complaint was there wasn't enough toast to soak up all the sauce...I'd suggest four pieces rather than two. For our entrees, Wifey ordered the Birria tacos - braised short ribs, Mexican cheese blend, and a beef consume and I ordered the Branzino con risotto - pan seared branzino (one of my favorites), Mexican street corn risotto and onions. Seriously, me...Mr burrito or fajita combo ordered branzino over risotto at a Mexican restaurant and could NOT have been happier with my choice. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the risotto, while a little thicker in texture than I'm used to, was just delicious. Wifey's tacos, were a little small (there were four), but packed a punch with the flavor and richness. Adding a dip into the thick beef consommé brought the whole thing together and made for the perfect reason to come back. The only bummer we had for the evening was they didn't have any mango to make the dessert we wanted, but we didn't need it to top of the meal...we walked away deliciously full. Important note - this isn't your normal Mexican restaurant. There wasn't a kids menu and the food and drinks were a little pricey if you walk in expecting more of a fancy taco place...that's not what Milagros is. There are plenty of places like that, so Milagros stands out on its own for what we referred to as "fancy" Mexican...a great place to eat, great service, with a clean and bright atmosphere. read more

First time at this location by the same ownership as Sear - which I love. Everything was delicious! The street corn was great and well priced and the empanadas were meaty. The fajitas were cooked properly (we'd asked for no onion but extra peppers). I'd warn those that aren't into salt that the molcajete is pretty salty (which I love) so if you prefer otherwise, I'd advert. It also doesn't come with steak or onion which I'm sure they can add and I'll likely ask to do so next time but the sauce in it's in is incredible! Can't want to go again. read more

Ordered a churrasco($36)very tasty and cooked as requested. A chicken fajita($24)was ordered as well as Molcajete Mar y Tierra and Pork Shank. Everyone was happy with their dishes! The place is very nice and the service is great, I was told it's a high end restaurant but it's not really, casual wear is fine. There is a stage but I didn't ask when there is entertainment, the restaurant is huge, they should have made a dance floor and turn it into Latin club on the weekends, we had the sangria, calamari app and seafood pasta, it was delicious, it tasted really good, and it looked good. Beautiful restaurant! They were able to accommodate our very large work holiday dinner and have multiple spaces for larger parties. The service was quick with about two or three waiters tending to us all. The espresso martinis and margaritas were a hit! Food poisoning. We should not have ignored the 1-star reviews. This was our first (and last) visit here. To be honest, the food wasn't even good going down. The place was at about 25% capacity on a Friday night at 8 pm for dinner, that says a lot. We ordered guacamole/chips and chicken flautas for appetizers and the chips were stale, nuclear green and red in color (total food dye) and the chicken flautas appeared to have been reheated from many hours before. If you are really interested in trying this place out, I would hang at the bar because the drinks are decent and there was some action happening at the bar. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE . WE celebrated my youngest daughter's 14th birthday in this restaurant and we got food poisoning. First, they made us wait for more than hour to serve our meals. My elder daughter missed two days of school, so we took her to seek medical attention and the attending MD diagnosed it as food poisoning. I have to go the bathroom 4x that night and my youngest daughter and 3 of her friends also threw up that night. I tried to resolve this matter amicably by asking a refund for our meals and to be reimbursed for my daughter's medical expenses but the manager and the owner refused to do so. Stopped by for dinner last night. Nice clean restaurant n friendly staff. Had the frozen blackberry margarita and passion mojito. Enjoyed it. We also got the beet salad, empanadas nortenas and sops de tortillas. The salad was yummy w nuts, goat cheese, slices of pear and a nice dressing. We shared it. The 2 empanadas were v tasty n quite big. Had one n took the other one home as I didn't want to ruin enjoying the entree . Soup was very flavorful. The chips n dip were good. For entrees we got the fried red snapper w mango salsa, birria tacoes and Cancun calo de hacha. Was a big red snapper crunch and tasted so good with the mango salsa . Tgere were 4 tacos n waz good. Here's the deal. I was on a work assignment with a couple other coworkers. We were staying in the courtyard right next-door. We want someplace we can go quick. From first glance on the outside, I figure we were going into regular taco joint with Spanish rice and fried beans if you Chalupa some inspired margaritas, I would've been happy with. Don't you walk in and this place is anything but normal it's like your transporter to Miami white marble open everything a beautiful bar the staff as well trained beautiful eights and cups and knives and forks and napkins. Everything very high-end. Also, it's not normal. There's some fusion there. Lots of fish a ton of different apps. They must've had 12 specials that day. Everything was good from the drink to the appetizers to the food. Our service was on point. We wanted for nothing. The food came out super quick. The place is ridiculously clean. We visited, the restaurant has a elegant and sober decoration, not the typical Mexican decoration with too bright colors. I suppose that since they are new, the service is not fully trained yet and that sense could have been better. I think they will improve over time since the owners or administrators are there trying to give the best service. We ordered a paloma and a tequila were very good. The ambiance of this place is beautiful! I love the decor, I almost felt like I was back in Tulum! I sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender. It was my first time there and I was obsessed with the decor. I ordered a strawberry margarita which was delicious, and started off with the blue point oysters and the pulpo asado (octopus). The oysters were fresh and yummy. The octopus was not what I was expecting but good nonetheless. The octopus had a sweet glaze to them, but with the sauce and the potatoes it created the perfect combination of flavors that burst in your mouth. I also ordered the shrimp fajitas, also superb. It wasn't crowded, especially for a Friday night. I don't know about you, but when I go out for Mexican, I want my margarita! The salsa was very different. Not bad, but not our preference. It's almost sweet. And you get one tiny bowl of it. We had the street corn. It was ok. The fajitas were awful. The steak was undercooked and grizzly. My tuna tacos should have been an appetizer, but I think they were supposed to come with a side that never came. Brand new restaurant in town, possibly still doing a soft opening. Went on a Tuesday night and they were not very busy. The restaurant is beautiful inside. If you hadn't visited the TGIF that previously occupied the space, you would never know it. The light, bright color pallets is very catching and comfortable. Staff and servers were great. Attentive enough, made good suggestions and were super pleasant. I am only giving them three stars because the food does not fit the cost and environment. $15 Guacamole was good but not special. For the price and for an environment that screams "fine(r) dining", I was hoping for a twist unique to the restaurant. While good, I could get the same from several other local restaurants for half the price. $15 Fish Tacos were also good but very wet. The tortillas were thin, which is great, but with the toppings being so wet did not support the fish as a taco. Some kind of side with the dish would have been nice too. $16 Enchiladas Suizas were very nice. It will be interesting to see how the restaurant progresses over time. But the next time I want Mexican their are 3 or 4 other local places I will choose first for similar quality food at half the price. read more
