I've been coming to Milagros my whole life, but now I'm finally reviewing it! This is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in the area. I usually order Pozole, but that dish is only during the winter time. So I ordered a cup of tortilla soup! The chicken was fresh and delicious, and the broth was so good I drank it all. The salsa trio is always my favorite appetizer because of the spicy mango salsa! I finish it every time. I also got the Plátanos cubanos, but I got the toppings on the side so I could enjoy their plantains by themselves. As an appetizer, snack, meal, or dessert, plantains are the best. I ordered a side of rice with my steak tacos too, and I have to say this rice is the most similar to the type my mom makes at home. Not too tomatoey, but perfectly moist and tasty. I opted out of getting a cocktail today, so I got a mocktail. I was craving agua de jamaica, which they didn't directly have, but this "zero proof" cocktail hit the spot ;) As for the steak tacos, the steak was a little too chewy for my liking, but that's because I usually get my steak well done (I know, don't judge). I'll start by saying that I've been coming here for years and the food is great. Came in recently and the service unbelievably slow, while prices had of course gone up. The biggest disappointment however was when I looked at my receipt. In addition to taxes and tipping, I was another charged 3.5% for "state mandate." I inquired and was told that since the restaurant has to provide medical insurance, their employees they charge customers for that now. It's just so shady that this is not disclosed ahead of time or at least no obvious and it's only if you look at your receipt, do you see you're being charged this additional fee. Word for the wise it is optional despite the mandatory language on the receipt, so I encourage everyone to refuse to pay. You are not the one employing the employees, the employer is. read more

I've been here so many times and I'm actually shocked I never left a review before lol. Everything I've tried has been so good. I still haven't tried the pork tacos, but other than that I've had a bunch of different things and never had a bad meal or drink here. The guacamole is sooo good and the yuca fries are seriously addictive. My favorite tacos are the fish ones, especially the Baja fish taco. Also the vibe of this place is just happy It's colorful, fun, loud in a good way, and makes you want to dance when you walk in. Very nicely decorated restaurant on the corner with indoor and outdoor seating. Easy neighborhood parking a few blocks away or a paid parking lot across the street. Was there for lunch on a Monday and was quickly seated around 2pm. I got the mahi mahi tostada, a very generous portion of nicely prepared fish over back beans, cabbage and guacamole. It was a lot of food for lunch. I brought home half of the fish. My friend had the chicken fajitas and also took home half of it. I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat there, but if you're in the area, it's a nice little place if you're craving Mexican. read more

Came for a work lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and we were sat outside. It was nice because they have heaters. The only downside is if you sit at a high top, it's quite difficult to get in and out of your chair, and you can't fully scoot in. Ordering was very easy. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We've been wanting to try this place for a while now that we've moved to RWC. They have a wonderful space with both indoor and outdoor seating. We came with a large party for a holiday gathering and it was great that they offered QR code orders as it made it easy for everyone to order and pay on their own. We loved their chips and salsa! I ordered one of their shrimp bowls and it was so flavorful. Everything went together so well. I also came back with a friend on a week night and it was pretty quick to get a seat. The best and only way to fly sometimes is on the suggestion of a friend or relative on a venue. This of course was picked none other than one of my cousins that happened to know all the rockin Mexican establishments in town. When she suggested this place to me, it was and has become one of my favorite modern up scale Mexican restaurants in Redwood City. I have been coming here for well over 24 years. My favorites are their salads as well as their plates like the Mole or The Chile Relleno. Of course these are combo plates and served with rice n beans,. Every time I've come here, I start with the chips and salsa trio - the serving size is always generous (as evidenced by the bucket it comes in), and the salsas are all very good. Milagros also has a solid array of drinks, and I'll usually end up getting one of the several different margaritas or cocktails on menu (I'm partial to the El Jefe margarita and Smokey the Bandit). All the food options I've tried here have been very tasty as well! In particular, I have a fondness for their tacos (especially the quesabirria trio), enchiladas suizas, skillet fajitas, and carnitas nortenas. And the service has never been anything less than fast and friendly here, even when it's crowded. All in all, Milagros has remained a staple for me over the years. I also thought the Baja fish taco was pretty good but everything else ranged from mid (steak taco, enchiladas) to surprisingly bad. For example the quesadilla barely had any cheese?? Great service. I came in around 2:30 for department holiday party. The food was good. I ordered the jalapeño poppers. I will say they were delicious but I would have loved a bit more of a kick. They weren't spicy at all. Which I guess works for my non spicy lovers! The taquitos were good. Again personally I would love a spicier salsa, the salsa was too sweet for my liking. Milagros does a great job catering to families and work meals alike. I love their extensive food options on the kids menu , dinner menu, cocktails and service. The churros are so so good. The prices are on the higher end but worth it. Parking is not as bad as there are some lots across the street. read more

Visited again with coworker's for lunch and this place does not disappoint. Food was deliciously perfect. This time, I just had coconut shrimp taco and mini gorditos. I was stuffed. Made a stop at Milagros after getting off a flight, and it hit the spot. We got a few appetizers, including the tortilla chips (which were great), the birria appetizer, and taquitos. All of those were fantastic. For me personally, I wanted something on the more refreshing side, so I went with the salmon bowl, and it was packed with cilantro and citrus flavor that made it the perfect post-flight pick-me-up. After all of that, we had churros, and those were good. As for the service, our waitress was kind and attentive to our table, and handed us off to a waiter who took care of us for the rest of the meal. The restaurant itself is very clean, has lots of decor and a cohesive theme, and I could see this spot being a nice place to enjoy a night out with friends. I'd definitely come back. read more

Went here for a Sunday brunch and it's such a cute, dog friendly place!!! They have their own little dog menu which I love and a patio for the furry friends. Their cafe de olla is so good! Oh, they also have excellent horchata but at $5, mostly ice so you'll need like 3 of these. Their dip trio came out lukewarm. Not a fan of their dips. Tasted like some weird supermarket dip. 2 stars. The other tacos were okay, not outstanding. Think 3 stars average anywhere tacos. The ceviche was also okay, but like in a slightly better way, so like 3.3 stars. We had ordered Yukka fries, guacamole, salsa trio, birra tacos, quesabirria... they even had a doogie menu. The fries were so good that 2 did not satisfy our table, we ordered a 3rd one. The quac was delicious. Normally quacs everywhere is eh, it is quac, but the flavor they had in theirs was slightly different. Their birria tacos and consume was so flavorful and mouth watering. We even asked if it was possible to get another side of consume, and with no hesitation, our server brought me another small side of it. All my friends also loved their dishes and had nothing bad to say about it. Their alcohol... strong, but in a good way. Only thing is their outdoor seating is a little crowded. I felt like the tables are to close to each other. I either had to ask my friends to scood in or say excuse me to the table behind me to scood in. Milagro's outside patio is a true gem and the main reason for my lunch visit today. Well that plus fond memories of sipping cold beverages with good friends here several years back. I had two Mahi-mahi tacos, a cold drink, and a bucket of chips with three salsas. The tacos were perfectly competent but not exceptional. I might opt for a different style next visit. I had a nice work lunch here - I'm rounding up to 4 stars, probably more accurately three and a half! Milagros has a good-sized menu with options for those who don't eat meat, don't want a lot of carbs, etc. They have a big list of different tacos; I tried the cauliflower taco and it was good. I kinda think they should do a taco combo where you can get 3-4 tacos with sides instead of ordering them a la carte. I liked the bueno bowl I had but it was nothing super exciting. I do feel like this is one of those places where it would be fun to have drinks and appetizers or going for a group lunch with people with varied diets. We got there around 11:45 for lunch on a Thursday, and we were seated quickly, even with a group of ten, so they weren't super busy then! I always want to complain about "fancy" Mexican places since we have so many good, inexpensive taquerias in the Bay Area - but this place wasn't too overpriced!
