The food is excellent, featuring authentic seafood flavors. The service is good, though it could be improved with a bit more organization. The atmosphere is authentically Mexican--just like being at home. I highly recommend it!

There's a place in Downey like this that I'd wanted to go to but now I don't have to travel. The concept is right here! The best of two worlds collide: sushi and Mexican sabor. From the outside I thought this would be a small restaurant but it's quite large. There are several large booths and a few tables to accommodate large groups. The atmosphere is loud with music playing throughout. Three menus: drinks, food, and desserts. The drink menu is extensive with all the regular favorites: margaritas, micheladas, beers, and many specialties. The main menu offers up appetizers, sushi rolls, an array of ceviches and aguachiles, and a few traditional options. Portions are enormous. Everything is shareable. Each menu item comes with julienned carrots and a chile that is sweet with a hint of heat. I ordered the Ceviche Mixto, just a hint of heat balanced with flavorful shrimp and octopus. It's served with a bag of Finca tostadas. The Spicy Tuna resembled a Japanese sushi roll with cream cheese, avocado, and jalapeño. The fish tasted fresh and by how busy the restaurant was, I trusted they go through a lot of fish and it couldn't possibly have sat around for very long. The Brucheta is a steak roll (similar to Bento box steak slices) with shrimp, cream cheese, and avocado. I wish I had room for more. I wanted to try the Quesabirria. There is a small parking lot in the rear accessible from the main road and side street. The staff was so welcoming and excited to share their food. I can't wait to go back for chilaquiles and more sushi rolls.

Going in, we were sat right away and were able to order water and an appetizer. Afterwards, we ordered food, but once the food arrived, our server was nowhere to be found. We had finished eating and stayed another 30 minutes and there was no sight of her.... Then we found out there was male server out of nowhere. He helped us at the end with our check, but we had no clue they had switched. Food wise, it was ok, music was great, and they had halloween decor they were taking down and getting ready with the Christmas decor.

If you haven't tried Mexican sushi with a fire michelada, you're seriously missing out This spot does it right every time. The sushi has that perfect Mexican twist--loaded with flavor, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of spice. Every roll I've tried has been on point, but paired with their micheladas? That's a whole different level. Ice cold, perfectly seasoned, and super refreshing.

So, we finally went to Sushinola, I checked out some reviews, and they seemed okay, they mostly complained about the service, the time it took to get their food, so we decided to give it a shot after the lunch rush i read the reviews, why was i surprised of our experience? We went around 1:30, hoping to miss the lunch rush. When we got there, maybe five other tables were there, and one hadn't gotten their food yet, and then there was us. Getting our food took forever, considering we were the only ones waiting besides that other table. We probably waited like 20 to 25 minutes. They had three waitresses. Two seemed friendly, but one looked like she didn't want to be there, and of course, she was the one who waited on us. not sure why it was hard to get an extra plate and fork, I had to get up and ask another waitress, who was happy to help. The food was mediocre at best. The coctel had a ok amount of shrimp, but the soup was flavorless. It tasted like water and lemon or lime. There wasn't any tomato base, salt or any other flavor, so it was pretty gross. And they didn't even use avocado, which I'm used to. My wife's molcajete was pretty bad too. The cheese they put on it was burnt and mostly stuck to the bowl. We couldn't eat the chicken because it was overcooked, and we thought it might have been reheated and dried out. We didn't eat it because it was inedible. The pork and beef were okay, also overcooked, but we ate them. The rice was terrible and didnt touch it either. Overall, we were disappointed because it looks like a fun place from the outside. We won't be going back. The experience, the service, and the food were just awful, and I wouldn't recommend it. Hopefully, the restaurant pays attention to these reviews and provides better experiences . I wish them luck.

Stopped by for dinner on Sunday, while we waited for our table, some of us went to grab a drink at the bar & were seated shortly after. After being seated, we had to flag down a waiter to come & take our order. The waiter said she thought we were already being helped since we had drinks but we explained we had bought those at the bar. We ordered some guacamole, salsa, chips & flautas to start off with. The guacamole had no salt, we had to season it ourselves along with the salsa that came with it. For our main dishes, we ordered the quesabirria which was just alright 3/5, the pozole which was a 5/5, a seafood tostada 5/5, sushi 3/5 & molcajete 3/5 the shrimps were overcooked along with the piece of steak, it was too well done, it was dry & hard to chew. The vibes at this place were lively, they had a great music selection & it was a great hang out spot to end our funday Sunday. I can't say that I'll be back but it was worth checking out. The items on the menu are a hit or miss. Please note that parking can be difficult & although they offer parking behind the restaurant, it was packed.

I usually order Pozole, but that dish is only during the winter time. So I ordered a cup of tortilla soup! The chicken was fresh and delicious, and the broth was so good I drank it all. The salsa trio is always my favorite appetizer because of the spicy mango salsa! I finish it every time. I also got the Plátanos cubanos, but I got the toppings on the side so I could enjoy their plantains by themselves. As an appetizer, snack, meal, or dessert, plantains are the best. I ordered a side of rice with my steak tacos too, and I have to say this rice is the most similar to the type my mom makes at home. Not too tomatoey, but perfectly moist and tasty. I opted out of getting a cocktail today, so I got a mocktail. I was craving agua de jamaica, which they didn't directly have, but this "zero proof" cocktail hit the spot ;) As for the steak tacos, the steak was a little too chewy for my liking, but that's because I usually get my steak well done (I know, don't judge). Thank you Milagros for always being the best spot for a comforting meal!

Dine in | Dinner La Corneta, San Carlos…read more From the moment we walked into La Corneta in San Carlos, we were met with warmth, efficiency, and exceptional service. The experience was quick, smooth, and welcoming from start to finish. This was my first meal of the day, and I was hoping for something satisfying -- but I had no idea just how impressed I would be. Our food and beverages were ordered and served promptly. Even when a small mistake occurred, it was corrected immediately, graciously, and with a genuine smile, which speaks volumes about the care and professionalism of this team. Customer Service: 5 stars -- truly beyond expectations Cleanliness: 5 stars -- spotless and well cared for Quantity: 5 stars -- more than generous Quality: 5 stars -- honestly better than many 5-star restaurants my husband and I have tried Price: Very reasonable, especially considering the quantity and outstanding quality A special and heartfelt thank you to David, who I believe is the manager. He was attentive, observant, friendly, and incredibly hands-on -- moving seamlessly from station to station, supporting his team, and leading by example. David is the kind of leader who inspires, not commands. It would genuinely have been an honor to work under his supervision. He goes above and beyond, and it shows brightly in every detail. The fajitas were cooked perfectly, the drinks were delicious, and my husband absolutely loved his mole burrito. What stood out most was how this place made me feel. I didn't feel like just another customer -- I felt at home, and after the day I had, that meant more than words can express. We are already looking forward to our next visit. In a time when many establishments are losing their personal touch, La Corneta is creating real connections -- and that makes all the difference. 13 stars -- for our favorite number as a couple. With sincere gratitude, Thank you, David, and thank you to the entire La Corneta team.

While photos of their SF location suggest some seeing, this OG location is pretty much pickup/delivery only: a fairly literal hole in the wall, located along a random quiet street. Most folks would probably opt to take home or eat at one of the "nearby" parks, but we've gotten in the habit of just eating in the car, which... not so great for something as messy as birria lol. I'll say that for most folks, this would probably easily be more a 4 star spot, while for us, it's more a 2 star since we're unlikely to come back. That's not to say the food was bad: on the contrary, the flavors were quite good, and the consomme was less salty than some of the others we've tried. But their food is HEAVY. Not just the birria itself, but also the burrito we got, and heavier than other places we've been for some reason, with the birria sitting in a pool of oil soon after we picked it up. This probably isn't a deterrent for most people though, so take this as you will. Accessibility: Not too relevant since this is really just a pickup spot, with the pickup window being at the usual height you'd find elsewhere.
