We came to Limon in Redwood City for dinner tonight with a group of 13, and I just had to leave a review because our experience was incredible. Claudia was our waitress, and she truly went above and beyond. Managing a large group is never easy, but she handled everything so smoothly, with so much kindness, patience, and attention to detail. She made sure everyone felt taken care of, kept everything organized, and did it all with such a warm and positive attitude. It honestly made our whole night even more enjoyable. Thank you, Claudia, for making our dinner so special--we'll definitely be back!

This location of this chain is my favorite one. Easy parking available nearby. The food is always delicious. The Peruvian cocktail, Pisco Sour, made to perfection. Never disappoints. Lots of options to choose from in each category.

The hype around this place was insane, so I'll admit my expectations were probably a little too high going in. The food is clearly great quality, the interior is beautiful, and the service was excellent. That said, my dish ended up being a bit too salty for my taste, which took away from the overall experience. Drinks were solid though. Definitely a good spot, just didn't quite live up to the buzz for me. I'd come back for drinks and apps! I wonder if they do Happy Hour.

First time to Limon and had an amazing experiences. Got their signature dish, calamari with yuca fries, and cauliflower. Everything is amazing. Flavorful, fresh, well presentation. The servers are very friendly. Food came out efficiently despite being a busy Saturday dinner. Will for sure come back, maybe next time for birthday celebration. They offer special birthday dessert celebration with a small firework. There were multiple tables here for celebration when I was there!

This place is a party the minute you walk in. So if you're in the mood for music that has you gyrating in your seat or getting in the mood to dance, Limon never disappoints. With that said, it's a great place to celebrate! I've already been to this location a couple times and was delighted we were getting a Limon in the Redwood City area. The seafood is always delicious and fresh. The empanada sampler is a great appetizer- very simple with no more than the chicken, beef, cheese or mixed veggies in each. I have never seen scallops on the shell anywhere around here and last enjoyed them abroad. Those are prepared nicely with some latin flavors to enhance. The pisco sours are what I always go for. They're also known for their chicken which is delicious rotisserie. Apparently, it's no longer being served?? I hope they bring it back. I loved their chicken! If you have a spicy tongue, you have to ask for their hot sauces also. The red one is nice but the green one is the best and has a sharpness to it. Service is always excellent whether at the bar or on the floor. Everyone no matter who is serving you is solicitious and attentive if your server or bartender is not present and something is needed. Limon has always been a favorite of mine whether in SF, peninsula or Mt. View. You bet I'll be sauntering into Limon again sometime soon!

My husband and I have always loved going to Limon in Burlingame and we especially love the Redwood City location. The atmosphere and overall decor inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. We love the service we receive every time- the staff are always so attentive and friendly. The food also is so good- we recently tried some of the sushi rolls specifically at the Redwood City location ontop of other classics like Lomo Saltado, yuca and platanos fritos. Might I also add- their drinks are phenomenal!

Absolutely delicious! This restaurant is a little on the pricey side but it's a good spot to splurge at. Every single thing I tasted had such great flavor. The arroz mariscos is probably the biggest serving. So if you're really hungry I would recommend that one! It has mussels, shrimp, and fish. We were celebrating a birthday and right before coming to our table to sing they turned up the music in the whole restaurant and really made the birthday feel special. Service was also spot on. Refills came quickly. Plates were cleared as soon as we were finished. We had a party of 6 and gratuity was included in our bill. Will definitely recommend this spot to friends and family. It's a great spot for a date night.

Ceviche Camarones with Yuca chips maybe?

For my visit, the hospitality was top notch and the food, very delicious. Came in for lunch with two friends. We ordered: Camarones Crocantes $20: yummmm, saucy, crispy. I could order a plate to eat as a meal. Bruselas $12: Also yum! I didn't expect much, but it was pleasantly tasting veggie dish. Great to order and snack on. Ceviche Limón w/ taro chips $30+: you request the taro chips, but I don't remember seeing it on the menu or where my friend saw it. She just asked for it and they brought it out. Really good choice, the chips were perfect with the ceviche. Lomo Saltado $34: friend said it was salty, which I'm not surprised with the name haha, but it came with seasoned rice that I thought could cut through the saltiness well. Half Chicken $24: the chicken was bomb. Good seasoning and still very moist and tender. The skinny fries were okay, but forgettable, and it came with a nice salad to cut through the savory dish. My favorite part was the aji amarillo sauce. No idea what's in it, but I loved it. I would have preferred thicker fries for this dish. It's a solid lunch choice if you're deciding where to eat with coworkers, and it's a great choice for bringing a client. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive. We went a little after noon for lunch and it wasn't too crowded (just three tables including us). If you need to have a more private or intimate conversation, there's plenty of seating for that. It's a good place to eat at again to try other dishes. I want to order my friend's ceviche dish next time, the arroz con mariscos dish, and the nikkei rolls. I saw they also have a Mountain View location, so I'll be giving that place a try soon.

Came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner with 2 friends and had a reservation. The interior is very well-decorated and pretty. The music can be a bit loud, and it you have a birthday, they crank up the music as the staff comes out with a dessert and a sparkler (this place seems popular for birthdays, we saw 3 celebrations here). Our food came out relatively fast and were in good portions. I got the Mixto Rocoto Ceviche with Taro Chips and the Chicha Morada. The drink was a good sweetness that complemented the dish well. Plenty of tender seafood, and the Taro Chips are a must to contrast with some saltiness and starch. Good place for Peruvian food, would come back again!

The food was delicious at Limon! The sushi we had was absolutely incredible. I cannot find the name but it is shrimp tempura inside, a tender beef on top, then a little bit of spice. It was delicious. We also had the pork belly bowl with was amazing as well. The only thing that bothered me was our waitress made it seem like they only had water bottles. So we ended up paying for a $8 bottle of water. Other than that it was a good experience!

Ribeye with fries and extra Chimichurri (2oz)
    Vanessa D.

I've lost count of how many times I've been to Limón in Redwood City & lowkey shocked this is my first review. Short story short, this is one of my faves and have gone to 4 of their locations. My standard order is the lomo saltado with chicha morada--sometimes the classic drink, sometimes the chicha morada sour--and it never misses. On my most recent visit, I switched things up and ordered the ribeye but asked for fries instead of the potatoes it usually comes with. Honestly? Game changer. The server even commented he'd never seen anyone order it that way before, and it ended up being incredible--basically a Peruvian take on steak frites. I also tried extra chimichurri, but for future me (and anyone else ordering): the sauce you really want extra of is the other one that comes with the dish. The chimichurri is fine, but the star is the original sauce. A couple other things worth noting: * Service is consistently fantastic, whether I come on a random Thursday lunch when the place is quiet or during a packed dinner service. * The food quality is always spot on--flavorful, satisfying, and honestly addictive (if I had a therapist, they'd probably call it an obsession). Bottom line: Limón is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. If you're in Redwood City and craving Peruvian food, you CAN go wrong if you don't come here

Not new to Limón Restaurants as my first visit was about 20 years ago to their original location in the Mission District, San Francisco. Limón features their usual modern take on Peruvian cuisine & Latin Asian influences and has since expanded to 5 other locations. I've been to the Walnut Creek and frequent the Mountain View location and most recently, the newish location in Downtown Redwood City. Interior is beautiful and modern - integrating natural elements like plants and natural materials into the space that makes it so inviting and draws you in. Love! First visit was about a month ago and seated at the bar which was perfectly fine. If you don't have a reservation and party of 2, you will be seated there or have the option of outside (few tables). Recent visit was last night and made a reservation for 3. With both visits, service is friendly, helpful and professional. Mario was our server (7/10/25) and was very patient explaining the menu items as my friend is particular (eye roll). Dishes are nicely prepared and cooked perfectly but can be overly seasoned or too much sauce and noted on both visits. BRUSELAS - Roasted brussel sprouts, ginger miso glaze. parmesan cheese. First bite good then you get any brussel sprout with glaze and it's salty!! 3/5 this dish would benefit from LESS is more. PIQUEOS (small plates) to try: :: JALEA - fried calamari, white fish shrimp - lightly battered with a delicious yuzu :: CAMARONES CROCANTES Lightly battered jumbo shrimp, rocoto-sriracha aioli, & green onions. - light and delicious with the accompanying sauce :: EMPANADA SAMPLER - cheese, mushroom, beef and chicken - all yummy :: POLLO ALA BRASA - Served with ají amarillo sauce, french fries, and house salad. - Simple, juicy and delicious They now have a Nikkei Rolls menu available with about 7 options. Ordered: :: BEEF ANTICUCHERO Shrimp tempura & avocado roll, topped with seared beef tenderloin (on the side) for the vegetarian. Meat on its own was salty as well. I'm sure with the roll it would've balanced a bit. Didn't order any ceviche these visits but will definitely get it next time I visit on my own. DRINKS - nice and strong - had the sangria and pisco sour and it hit me with one drink! Bartender was nice and friendly and busy with the drink orders. Overall, really like the Redwood City location vibe and variety of food. FEEDBACK: cut back on the sauces and salt and dishes would be great. I see it's mentioned in about 8 other reviews as well so not isolated to my 2 visits. Happy Hour pricing from 3-6pm. Pricing $$$ (small plates average $20) but worth a visit. Street parking and paid lots available

    At the ceviche bar ...

This is going to be our neighborhood favorite for special (or any) occasions! Walked in on a Friday evening without prior reservations, but we able to get seated by the vehicle bar right away. If you can, make reservations for a table, since the vibe is cool, hip and elegant. We started of with the spicy ceviche, the ceviche Límon which we got with the taro chips for an extra charge, and the trio of leche de tigre. Both ceviches cake with crunchy Peruvian corn, did not smell the least bit fishy, were delicious with a perfect combination of salty, sour and fresh sea food. However, they both tasted very similar and it would have been good had it server informed us of that when ordering. The taro chips added a great crunch and complemented the softness of the ceviche beautifully. The trio of leche de tigre were much appreciated too. Next we got the whole fried snapper, the pork belly with fried rice, chicken skewers and beef tongue served with mashed potatoes. Everyone loved the entrees, but thought the pork belly dish was a bit too salty and paired in comparison to the others. The portions were generous and prices reasonable for the portions. Being too full after all this good we had to pass on the dessert, but we now have a favorite Peruvian spot in the neighborhood!

We had a large group, and I really appreciated that they accommodated us inside since it was a bit chilly that day. They seated us in the front area, which we loved. Everything we ordered from the appetizers, to the main dishes was packed with flavor. Nothing missed the mark. Truly one of the best brunch experiences in town! I had the chilaquiles along with a champagne drink that came with different juice options and fresh fruit such an adorable and fun presentation. My family couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything was, including the dessert. We arrived at about 1:00-1:30 and the inside main dining area was already closed to patrons as staff prepared for the evening service. The host's tone did not encourage potential customers to dine there during the transition to dinner prep. Not a great first impression that gave off a late arrival so you'll get what's leftover vibe which was exacerbated by being forgotten for what seemed to be a half hour before our waitperson came to take our order. We chose to sit in the front sidewalk patio which was cold and windy not an alternate choice we will need to make again. We ended up sitting across from two loud, self-centered, immature, foul-mouthed college grad girls bragging about studying for their masters attempting to appear cultured were distracting everyone on that patio. After we placed our order, we finished up the app and hubbs was furious they forgot about his glass of pinot which arrived without an apology for the delay preceding our plate arrivals. I had the ny strip steak on the breakfast menu which came out perfectly med-well & added cilantro rice which was good although a little sticky not fluffy. Hubbs had the salmon which looked amazing and he enjoyed the mango sauce--the dish just didn't fill him up. Good thing we ordered fresh chips, salsa& guac.--which was very well prepared; the freshest guac I've ever had. It had fresh chopped tomatoes & green chiles all perfectly combined. Our wait person/food server made up for the less than stellar first impression of the host. And the food was flavorful. The ambiance was ruined by the diners across from us and the forgetfulness of taking our orders timely and serving the wine after the appetizer couldn't bring us back from what started out as negative experience. There are many restaurants up & down the bay that we aren't bothered. This wasn't the best reception nor dining experience and we are moving on. We hope it's a lesson and possibly could've just been a bad day for the crew, and unfortunately there is so much competition out there. We highly recommend the food for its freshness and flavor; recommend the salmon dish for its flavor and balance but not for its portion size. And wish this place nothing but the best and to improve where they dropped the ball.

It's been a minute since I've been to LV Mar but the food is still tasty, albeit a bit pricey. They are kind of the upscale sister to La Viga afterall. We started the meal with the birria fries which were pretty good. I liked the huge chunks of beef which were really nice and tender but I would have liked to see more inclusion of birria into the dish instead of just the meat, like maybe some of the consommé on the side to dip or maybe tossing some cilantro, onions with the cheese or giving it that fresh squeeze of lime. As is, it's fries with some melted cheese and the chunks of birria. Good, but not a standout to me. My personal favorite came with my tacos. I really liked the scallop taco which came on a jicama "tortilla". It was sweet but crisp and worked well with the fried scallop which was also done well and not over fried. I also really liked the huitlacoche which is a bit of a rare find. It's like corn and mushrooms had a baby. It was really tasty. Both of these completely outdid the pork belly taco which was honestly very good in its own right too. The only downside is that the price is about $8 PER TACO which is a lot so while I applaude the creativity for some, that's tough to choose regularly. Overall, food was good and the vibe was fun. It's a good option on Broadway in Redwood City (but yes, I also think you should choose La Viga first).

We wanted papusas and Comalito came up with spectacular reviews and was open (at time of writing,…read morethey open Fri-Sun)! Food and service were great. Food ordered: Yucca fries on the house! 1. Plantano Fritas (4/5) I love a plantains and these were delicious and less oily than other which I appreciate! Personal preference is a I prefer a little more sweetly caramelized plantains, but I did really enjoy this. The dish comes with a white creamy sauce and a refried bean dip - both yummy and not overpowering in flavor. Papusas: Lots of flavors to choose from! And in general, for all the papusas, the papusa batter is wonderful and the porportion of filling to papusa is perfect. 2a. Calabaza Papusa - mixed cheese + zuchinni (4/5) This was the most cheesey papusa, where the cheese was the heavy lifter. I enjoyed it and every bite had a nice cheese pull too it. I would have liked to see a little more zucchini green, and for it to add to the textures. 2b. Frijol y Queso Papusa - mixed cheese + refried beans (5/5) My favorite! Can't go wrong with a bean and cheese papusa and this was so so good. I recommend this classic pairing of flavors anywhere. I was thinking about this papusa for days. 2c. Chicken Papusa - mixed cheese + chicken (5/5) This was also really good. the chicken is mixed in with the cheese, so every bite has both, which was nice. There was also a lovely seasoning which balanced all the flavors beautifully. 3. Churros: This usually comes with vanilla ice cream, and the server warned us they didn't have any in stock. We were fine with that because we love churros. When we were complete with our papusas, they served us our churros and surprised with apple slices instead of ice cream which was a lovely touch. Parking: There is no designated parking lot that we have found, but the public 2 hour parking lot 2 blocks over on Second Ave! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Comalito. The hardest hurdle is parking, but once you find the public parking lot a couple of blocks over, it was easy to find and gives you a little exercise before you eat! Papusas were all delicious and there is a plenty of seating room. Keep in mind they are open Friday-Sunday only at time of writing.

The spot is full of character and a good amount of seating. The customer service is great. Everyone was so kind. We each ordered 3 pupusas of bean & cheese w/ curtido and some casamiento to share. I also got a side order of carne asada. All the food was good. Everything was full of flavor. The carne asada was tender. The pupusas had the perfect mix beans and cheese, with the masa being light and fluffy. The casamiento with a great mix of rice and beans. The only negative was the curtido. It was ok. Somewhat soggy and not very crisp. Also, lacked any flavor. It's a small thing, but otherwise the dinner was 5 stars.

Cilantro tastes like soap to me and ever since my first visit, even when I forget to ask for no cilantro in my food, they remember for me :) And the food! I thought I didn't like cauliflower before I tried their cauliflower taco, and now I get it every time! The vegan bao, the elote, and the plantain taco are also amazing, and they have the best mocktail to all time (ask for the yuzu one). Both the indoor and outdoor dining experience is wonderful, plenty of space between tables, flowers lining the outdoor tables, a great place to chat over a meal without getting overstimulated. And it's right in the heart of the downtown, so you can check out the bookstore a few stores down or the boba shop down the street. I can't recommend this place or the people who keep it running so well enough -- I always leave with a happy stomach and a happy heart.

The food came in on time so we really appreciated that. I tried the Cochinita Pibil which came with rice and plantains. I liked that the meat was soft and full of flavor as well as the rice. The salty and sweet from the plantains went well together. The other item i tried was the Pollo cochinita pibil bao bun. This was also very yummy and full of flavor. I definitely enjoyed that the bao was so soft. Overall, it was a solid experience and would want to go back to try more!

They are nice and small, a perfect size, filled with meat. We also ordered the tequeños: cheese and guava with cheese. The plain cheese were good- hot and perfect two bite sizes. The guava and cheese were also the same size as the plain. It used the same cheese as the plain one, not cream cheese like pastelitos from Cuban desserts. That's something to keep in mind. While the food was fresh and hot, I do want to return to try their other plates of stuffed arepas. My friend doesn't like fruit in her savory food so we did not try any of the main options. Photos look great, though! There was a good turnout- people sat in their vehicles while waiting for the food because it was chilly. Service was very friendly. The reason for 3 stars is because they don't provide aji with the empanadas. I've been to Colombia a few times and married to a Colombian for the past 5 years. Aji with empanadas is a staple. It's a vinegary watery sauce with chopped green onions and a spicy element that complements an empanada amazingly. Unfortunately they don't provide it and the empanadas are dry. This is really the only reason I won't come back. If you don't mind, I do recommend them. Food had great flavor. Service was great and the workers are very friendly. You have to scan the code to get the menu FOOD: -Empanadas (3/5) Dough has good flavor and so did the chicken and beef meat but no aji :( $4 each or 5 for $19 -Arepon (4/5) Huge Corn arepa stuffed with chicken, chorizo, corn, cheese, ripe banana and a delicious garlic sauce $16

Found this place randomly on yelp and decided to try it with zero expectations. As soon as we walked in, we were hit by the live music and fun atmosphere. We ordered the NY steak for our daughter. We were going to order it cooked medium for her but most places usually overcook the steaks so we went with medium rare. This place does not overcook their steaks. It came out medium rare and maybe rare in some parts. It tasted great but we did try to cut around the rarer parts for our daughter. She ate half the steak and loved it. I ordered a seafood dish in tomato cream sauce and it was so good mixed with rice! My husband got the saltado with fried fish and that was good too, but maybe the fried fish on fries was a little too much fried stuff. Everything tasted great and service was friendly. I loved the music but it was a little too loud for my daughter even though we were pretty far back already. Definitely want to come back if we ever visit the area again, but maybe bring earplugs for my child.

The food here has always been consistently delicious and never disappoints and the customer service is great as well! If you're looking for authentic Peruvian food with a welcoming atmosphere, this place is definitely worth visiting.
