We were referred by local eye dr for a cataract appt. we had to schedule for a CAT pick up (which was fabulous BTW) and we arrived early due to their scheduling. We didn't feel welcomed at all and we don't think they showed much compassion for the elderly. We waited a very long time and went through all the eye testing. Finally saw the Dr and he said dry eyes! Oh and we will have to do all the testing over again. Maybe they should let you see the dr first before putting an 86 yr old through all the testing. We were there over 4 hours. The checkout was rushed and we left with no warning the drops they placed in my moms eye would hurt in the sun light. Then knowing she was on Medicare they prescribed $100 dry eye drops. Which we had to call to get a cheaper prescription. All an all my guy was telling me this was not the place for us. I called to let them know I felt a major lack of compassion and knowing their target audience is the elderly, I was not happy. We went with someone else in a smaller practice to get more TLC. They might want to look at their procedures. read more

I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Cameron Johnson at Milan Eye Center in Canton. The staff was professional and extremely helpful. Dr. Johnson was thorough in his exam and explained everything to me in layman's terms, so I could understand. I would highly recommend Milan Eye Center and Dr. Johnson. read more

Had cataract surgery there 3 years ago and recently my eyes turned cloudy and I had to go back for a laser capsulotomy. For 3 weeks I tried calling the billing department and left messages for them to call me to know how much of this was going to be covered by my insurance. No one ever returned my calls even to say they were working on it. I finally had to call and speak to an office manager who then got me the information. When I arrived for the first procedure and felt like I was rushed through getting my blood pressure and vitals checked by nurses who just seemed in a hurry and were not super friendly. After my eye was dialated I then went into the room with Doctor Johnson for the laser procedure. I was very nervous and when he tried to get the lens in my eye, it popped out 2 times and I could see he was getting frustrated and upset and made me feel as if I was causing him problems. The 3rd time it stayed in and he was able to do the treatment. After that, I was quickly lead out through the back door to leave. I was there alone and it all felt unpersonal. On my second visit to get the other eye done, they did not do as many vital sign checks and just brought me back to put drops in my eyes and sent me back to the waiting room to wait. This time when I was brought to Dr. Johnson, I was in the room next to his room when I over heard the nurse tell him I was the one who had the lens keep popping out of my eye before she brought me into the room where he was and it made me feel like I had wronged them in some way. I told Dr. Johnson that I felt like my vision seemed less clear than before I had the treatment and his response was that we could just not do the second eye and leave it cloudy. I knew from dealing with him 3 years ago for my first surgery that he did not have the best personality and bedside manner so I let it go. I told him I was there and had already paid for it and wanted the cloudiness gone so to please do it and after it was done I was again let out the back door and on my way. My follow up appointment with Dr. Lohman who I really liked on previous visits and knew she would make me feel better and answer all my questions. I was told upon checking in that I had an additional balance of $127.00 due on my account as part of my insurance deductible. I was not notified of this before I got there, nor have I received any bills so this blindsided me that I had to pay this a week before Christmas. I then had to wait over 30 minutes to get called back for my appointment, a nurse ran and eye test and then I waited another 30 minutes to be seen by who I thought was going to be Dr. Lohman but was not. No one told me I was not going to see Dr. Lohamn. While the Dr. I did see was very nice, I really wanted to see Dr. Lohman who I had been working with before my fist surgeries 3 years ago and if I had talked to her, I would have vented all these frustrations to her and would not be writing this review. I did not feel I got the personal service I had received in the past and felt that I was rushed through like cattle getting milked rather than having surgery. It all felt very unpersonal and rushed for a procedure that I am not sure why it should have even happened only 3 years after having lens replacements to start with at a cost of almost $1,000.00 per eye. I am not sure if I will return to Milan eye center for any procedures in the future. I feel the quality of service had gone down even though their new office space is beautiful. read more

I went to the Milan Eye Center in Canton GA for my cataract surgery. I really can't say enough about all the people who work there. Everyone I dealt with was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, professional and helpful. They explained everything to me regarding my surgery and made me feel comfortable with it. To my surprise they even offered me the option of 12 or 18 months interest-free financing through Wells Fargo (Milan Eye Center pays the interest) and a way to save money on the required eye drops. My surgery was done over a 2 week period and the results are absolutely stellar. I wish I knew about the Milan Eye Center 2 years ago, when I first looked into cataract surgery. Dr's Johnson and Lohman did a great job. I can now see without glasses and only sometimes require reading glasses for small print. This is wonderful! I've worn glasses since I was about 11 years old and now, at 70, I finally no longer need them. Thank you so much! Philip C. read more

I wanted to say how much I LOVE & APPRECIATE Dr. Lohman! She is beyond amazing!!! And she should have been given an honorary degree in kindness, psychiatry, life coaching, encouragement, motivation, and an honorable mention for doing all that in the short time we have with her as a patient. Seriously..she is an angel, a GOD SEND, and there's not a pedestal tall enough for her. She can't be "not lovable!" Not ONLY is she all of the above, but was the 3rd Dr I'd seen in one week. AND she was the FIRST to immediately notice, assess, and tell me about the sluggishness of the left side of my face. I knew my lip felt weird and I talked out the side of my mouth, but even I had not noticed the rest. My eye drooping, cheek "melting" mouth one sided, slurred speech, confession. And advised me to follow up and keep a watch on it. My PCP and neurologist were both closed on Friday afternoons, and I didn't want to over react and rush to the ER and it be nothing. But, on Monday I had to go to the hospital to the cardiology cath lab and have an implanted heart monitor changed out. While being prepped, the nurse noticed with my lying back that the left side looked strange,. Or my face looked different. My speech, etc. she got the Dr, and he assessed me. He told me I had all the symptoms of a stroke. He wanted to immediately get the heart monitor done and get me to the ER. He had people calling the CT lab to be ready, called the Dr and tell them what was going on and to call the charge nurse to have a place ready for me. It BLEW MY MIND that I'd been for an eye exam and the Dr. (Dr. Lohman) immediately noticed and brought up about the same conditions) WHICH...at the time was WAAAAY more slight than when I was at the hospital 3 days later. As soon as the heart monitor was done, they took me straight to the ER where the tests began and told me, "It was great that I took action when I did". Dr Lohman, you are a true, INTELLIGENT,KIND, ANGEL. I'm SO glad I picked Milan eye care, and even more so, that YOU were at the Canton location. I felt blessed before because of it....But now, I KNOW I'm BLESSED because you're there!! ETERNAL THANKS!!!! ********** And, may I add, the services I've received there have all been MOST satisfactory. Dr Johnson is great. I had bilateral cataract surgery by Dr. Johnson at the Milan Eye Center. I must say that Dr. Johnson and his staff are very friendly and extremely professional. My consultation was very through from all of the eye exams to my time with Dr. Johnson. I never felt rushed and he explained in detail what my surgery would entail. My day of surgery was just as he had explained it. You are kept very comfortable and relaxed during the procedure. He explains what he is doing every step of the way and so do his assistants. The facility is spotless and pleasantly decorated. Both of my surgeries went well and I now have 20/20 vision for distance. So glad I had these procedures and I highly recommend Dr. Johnson at Milan Eye Clinic. read more
