Terrible customer service! I made an order at 6:45 pm and it is 8:44 and they has not sent the delivery! SHAME On The Owner! $10 for a corkage fee for a bottle of wine that you buy and drink in the restaurant? They do not know the definition of a corkage fee. This is the definition: "Charging a corkage fee allows restaurants to give wine enthusiasts the option to bring their own bottle without undercutting the expenses they're incurring. least tell us when we are going to order a bottle of wine that there is a fee of staff keeping the bottle. " Our waitress was good, but disappointed that they added an 18% gratuity tip on a table for 1 or more. I honestly would have given her a better tip. DO NOT ODER FROM HERE--EXTENDED WAIT TIME! RUDE STAFF AND HORRIBLE SERVICE! Where do I begin... the staff yelled at the people waiting when we asked politely on who to ask for our order, by a lady who we believe helped cleaning tables and seating people as well. Last night, my family of 4 ordered for pick up, was told the food was ready and the proceeded to wait at the restaurant for over an hour, along with 7 other people, who were also waiting for more than an HOUR! Finally, people started cancelling orders one by one! The manager kept telling all of us 5 more minutes, when that was not the case. Staff members were seen eating on the floor, walking out of the kitchen with bread in their mouths, which is an actual health violation! One of the owners, an older lady then proceeds to tell us that there's nothing that she can do and as she's saying that she magically gets her friend his take out order when an entire line of people were waiting before him for an HOUR! Then the manager, a stalky man with glasses, proceeds to lie to all of us and say shes not the manager, that she runs deliveries, mind you she's over 65 years old! Then to top it off, our order was incorrect and food was missing! I have been coming to this place for a while and last night, along with many others, will be my last time! I came here for a dinner with my sister and we had a lovely evening. The atmosphere is delightful with the perfect mix of comfort and flair. There were a wide variety of diners while maintaining enough quiet to enjoy your own personal dining experience. Our food was excellent (skirt steak and milanezza francesca) and the service was also great. We were professionally and immediately greeted and taken care of all throughout our meal, with plenty of bread and water and quick attention. So this place definitely has its strengths and weaknesses. I would say that If you're going for a protein like an Argentinian steak, it will be prepared on the better end. If you're ordering something like a salad, you're probably better off going to the pizza place next to it. Prices were reasonably high for this type of establishment, which I guess you can avoid in a vacation location. My wife got a salad with chicken. I got a steak with some brussels sprouts to share. Oddly enough, the brussels sprouts were probably the best prepared aspect of the meal. The wait staff was slow and I would guess probably relatively new to the business. The food was delicious. The fried artichokes first were awesome. We all had the fried beef milanezza and all were great but I believe mine was the best. It is the Bianca and it has prosciutto, rucula/arugula, cherry tomatoes and a huge burrata mozzarella ball. It was amazing! Our server was great (Nestor I think is his name) and desserts and coffee were amazing too. I don't see any reason to eat anywhere else in key biscayne. And it's even worth a trip just to go there. I'm revising my rating from five stars down to one star. At first, I was glad to see one more place to eat on the Key. My first visit the food was fine and I had fun with my party. My second visit was for their $11.95 lunch special. I ordered a prosciutto sandwich with mozzarella, tomatoes, an basil with a an included side of fries. The fries arrived cold. I was not too impressed with the sandwich. The waiter did not come back to see whether I needed anything and it was impossible to flag him down. At the end, a busboy came to pick up my plate and I told him I left my fries behind because they arrived cold and greasy and I asked him to relay the message to the waiter. Some 15 seconds later I saw him showing my gross not-edible fries to the waiter and saying something. The waiter looked my way and started laughing. He did not come back to see me. Instead he sent someone else to bring me the check. I approached and asked him what he was going to do about the fries. He broke out in laughter and said "nothing." The restaurant adds a 15% tip automatically, so servers have no incentive to be courteous and provide good service, and disgruntled customers have no mechanism to show a vote of no-confidence in response to poor service. It is a pity that scarce retail space on the Key is wasted by a business that provides substandard service and does not deserve my patronage. Instead, go to Novecento or Artisan -- the comparison is like night and day. read more

Driving by on the way back to Miami after visiting the Cape Florida lighthouse on Key Biscayne (a must-see when visiting Miami-Dade County, especially if you like lighthouses and their unique charm), my friend and I saw a handful of Italian restaurants along the way. The funny thing is, there were like 2 of them in one strip mall, and in the strip mall next door, there was one more. With all the Italian restaurants in the area, therefore, you might wonder how Milanezza survives, and that would be their unique concept. Most of their menu consists of the famous Italian dish called "milanezza", which is basically "lightly breaded, pounded meat". They have a variety of styles, as well as choices of meat and cooking style (oven baked versus deep fried). My friend and I decided to get a large, which is big enough for 2, and comes with 2 sides. We chose the Margaret with oven-baked beef, and a salad and butternut squash as sides. As to the ambiance of the place, it was somewhat boisterous. I cannot say whether this was due to the World Cup playoffs, or if this is a usual occurrence, but there was barely anywhere to sit and it was quite loud. We lucked out in getting the last table indoors. Since we saw the amount of people there, we figured it must be good if it is so busy (the positive Yelp reviews also influenced our thoughts, of course). We waited patiently to get our food, which took a bit of a long time. I am now seeing on their online menu that ordering the oven baked version of the meat takes 20 minutes, something the regular menu (and the waiter) failed to mention. Lesson learned. The food finally arrived, and looked great. The beef was a pretty large size, definitely enough for 2 to share and not go hungry. The salad also was a decent size, as was the side of squash. The salad had a decent amount of ingredients, including cherry tomato, and was lightly splashed with dressing. Since my friend did not care for the butternut squash, I let him eat most of the salad. The butternut squash was delicious, in my opinion. Very soft and flavorful, with a buttery taste that was subtle and not too overwhelming, and it was unique as it isn't everyday that you see butternut squash offered as a side dish at a restaurant. The beta carotene component also made it all the more attractive. The beef was good, with a decent amount of cheese but somewhat dry and lacking in tomato sauce, despite the fact they claimed it had olive oil. Very flavorful and filling otherwise. Unfortunately, service got worse as our meal progressed, and even when the crowds dispersed, the poor service continued. The waiter apologized for the poor service when he brought our bill to the table, but then after he handed us the check and my friend waited for him to take it, he decided to go outside and chit chat with other waiters and the busboy, and also clean tables. So much for that apology! Shouldn't you be helping your customers, who will tip you accordingly, BEFORE cleaning up empty tables, considering there are now a good 15 empty tables available should anyone come to eat? We got frustrated and walked up to the bartender with the bill and credit card to pay so we could leave. As we walked out of the restaurant, the man never apologized for not picking up our bill nor did he thank us for coming or say bye. As you can see, Milanezza has a lot of potential, but some downfalls. It's a shame because if service had been up to par, I would have given it 4 stars, but when you wait over a half hour to get a drink refill, it definitely can affect one's impression of the place. Even with their milanezza niche, if they don't get their act together, they will drive away customers, especially potential repeat customers who feel they deserve more attention than one refill per hour and should at least get a simple "is everything ok, how is the food?" once or twice during the 1+ hour of consuming their meal. read more

While this might be an interesting concept for a restaurant, I don't know how long it can last on Key Biscayne serving its current limited menu. The majority of their menu consists of a plethora of milanesa variations. They have almost any type of protein you would like serving as the cutlet vehicle which is then topped with a myriad of sauces, foliage and condiments. The dining set up is casual and seems family oriented, along the lines of an upscale BBQ joint but they seem to be encouraging a bar scene which may be a little contradictory. The milanesas that my family had were all good. I cant remember what mine was but even with a cream based sauce on the top, it seemed a bit dry, my son had the prosciutto and arugula which he loved. While this restaurant is a welcome addition to the herd of Italian restaurants on the Key and I would go back and try other variations on the theme, I don't know if I would be willing to eat milanesas more than maybe once a month. Menu diversity might be a longevity problem for this restaurant. read more

My coworker insisted that we drive all the way from Brickell to Key Biscayne at lunch time to try out this new restaurant. Despite my complaints about having limited time and tons of work, we piled into the car and drove over the bridge to try out this new hot spot. I have to say it was well worth it. We started out with some provoletas (the little fried cheese appetizers) and then had a specialty milanesa for our main course. I don't think we had any room left by the time we were asked about dessert, but that didn't stop us! We ordered a crepe anyway and I was happy to soak up the dulce de leche :) It was delicious. Having been to Uruguay and Argentina in the past I was excited to find this place. I will start by saying they were busy but the food was coming out extremely slow. I am usually very patient but this was pushing my limits. The bread came out with the garlic butter that was sooo good. We did get our provoletta after probably 15-20 minutes, it was very hot and very good. We all ordered milanezza not the baked version just the regular fried version and after about 45 minutes the manager walked by and asked if we were waiting on desert menus. We informed him that we were still waiting on food. Another table complained that it was an hour and they were still waiting. After a total of about an hour our food did come out hot and fresh and it was quite good. I ordered the Argentinian beer which was great but when the rest of the table ordered it they only had the one bottle that I had gotten. Overall the visit was pretty pleasurable but it missed the mark on cook times and an Argentinian beverage that a restaurant focused on Argentine food should have plenty of. read more
