**Manager refused having a conversation** Two waiters for over 100+ clients on a Saturday night. This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Perfect spot for sunset ocean side vibes. With that said, I will never return. There is no strategy when it comes to welcoming and servicing clients. No one to sit you when you arrive. Tables were left filled with other's trash. Clients often picking it up themselves to be able to sit. When I finally got a table, I had to wait 30mins for it to be cleaned. I waited another 20 mins to be helped after waiving down the overworked waitress (who was really nice). Ordered an overpriced charcuterie board from their VERY limited menu and two Pinot noirs. I asked for the manager to discuss the trash and lack of service --- manager never came. After 30 more mins we got our charcuterie board, no waters, no utensils, no wine. Finished the food, wine got there 10 mins later, it was oxidized and undrinkable. I asked to talk to the manager again. Waited. Nothing. I approached the security guard to ask for the manager, he was very nice and apologetic, I believe Fabian was his name. He said the manager was busy and could not talk. Very disappointing experience. I will never return. The hope is that ownership sees this and changes management. Poor management turned into poor staffing, which turned into disappointed customers. We were not the only ones. If you decide to visit, I say...... BYOB and enjoy the views. They are so incredibly understaffed, it's not worth the frustration to try and get service. Food quality was poor. read more

Came here to watch the sunset, and it did not disappoint. It's a great spot in Key Biscayne with gorgeous views, especially with the boats passing by. There were lots of families and kids around, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. There are also two restaurants nearby if you want to grab a bite. I brought my own food, found a place to sit, and enjoyed watching the sunset and the boats on the water. It was a beautiful, relaxing way to spend the evening. read more

The Cleat MIA was a very beautiful scenic spot I went on a Saturday when there was perfect weather so it was just a lovely time to spend outside. I do love this location lets you have your dogs and they were playing some live music. Unfortunately I did go on a rather busy day so we couldn't really try the food because our server gave us the QR code but then never returned back so we can place an order so I can't really judge the food as we got tired of waiting and left. The bar as well had an exceptionally long line which we made since we couldn't place our order with the server. But I would love to go back another time and give it another shot as the views really are spectacular read more

I was super excited to come here as I love coming to Biscayne Key. This is in the park so be aware that you will need to pay to enter the park (varies from $4-8). Then we walked to the restaurant about 5mins from the parking lot. We had to park in the overflow parking and take a shuttle. We ordered the fish dip, tuna tartare and two drinks for a whopping $80 bill. The fish dip was delicious and the tartar was good. Honestly for the price you do not get much food and the crackers they serve it with are regular saltine and water crackers. The drinks were strong. This place is one of the best places to watch the sunset in all of south Florida. This slice of Key Biscayne comes with a somewhat lengthy journey as it is located at the edge of the island and inside a state park, but it is worth the distance. It can get rather busy sometimes but they have an organized way of attending their guests as it's a single line at the bar to get served so everyone gets their order in upon their time of arrival which is fair. Waiting in line for my drink never seems to bother me here as the view makes it worthwhile. They're pet-friendly too so bringing your pip makes a perfect afternoon venture when the weather is right. Parking is by Boaters Grill but if you walk by the edge of the boat dock all the way to the end, you'll see the Cleat at the end. The seating is first-come first-serve but there's plenty of it so snagging a table shouldn't be too tough. I love ordering frozen cocktails with an extra rum floater because what says miami more than a frozen drink? I recommend this spot to everyone who wants the bohemian miami experience with panache. read more

I came here for a post wedding ceremony celebration and it was a pleasant surprise! I've been to key biscayne many times and was not aware that this gem was here! The bar a short scenic walk from the parking lot and you can see the different boats docked on the way. The sunset views are incredible and there is a nice wind from the water. I saw that this was the best mojito in Miami, so I had to try! The bartenders were all very nice and attentive. The mojito was very tasty - not too sweet and very refreshing! Came to this beautiful and relaxing place for this elderly woman to come and grab my handbag and asked me to move my chair after the security guard told me that it was ok and just to be sure not to just drag the furniture to prevent damage. This senior lady is ruining the vibe of your business. Send her home The Cleat. Everything else is perfect and let her know that touching someone else's handbag is not ok. The bar staff is good, the live band is good but this elderly senior lady doesn't add up, she is rude, she is mean and lacks of properly education. If it were possible to give less than one star, this place deserves it. We came at 1:45 and the roll up doors were open and not a worker in site. One comes up and says they are opening shortly and to scan the QR code. Another guy comes and literally screams at us to get off the property because they are not open. Wild experience. The cleat is great for a view of the water and the sun going away after a long day having fun in Key Biscayne. But it's honestly just that. Don't go here expecting the bee's knees in food and drinks--but do expect that of the scenery that it provides you. My experience was haphazardly in the midst of a wedding celebration, so the bar was blasted with a crowd all awaiting to put in their cocktail order. The few bartenders they had did their best to get to all of us; it was commendable in their efforts to go through the crowd of wedding-goers, wet beach people, and everyone else. However, what was not commendable was the food. It's very overpriced for what it was. The ceviche was highly raved about, but at the end of the day, it's very lackluster ceviche that is pretty much just fish with a little zing--which is not wrong, but maybe I got too used to the amazing additions of hominy, sweet potato, and other accoutrements in my ceviche choices. The smoked fish dip was also sort of jus meh. Nothing really stands out as memorable in them aside from the fact that the crackers brought out with them were just... crackers. Crackers seemingly hodgepodged to make the dishes feel complete and appetizing. I mean, for the dip, it could have worked, but for the ceviche it felt off by a long shot. In the end, you should go here for the location and the location alone. I wish I could say that the food was filling and rewarding, but it was really neither. This spot feels like the afterparty for a nice evening out at Boaters Grill and there's nothing wrong with that. I might even just stick with Boaters Grill and just walk around The Cleat for a bit. In the end, know there are bars only a bit away that can get you that bar fulfillment and understand that The Cleat really won't do that for you. read more

It's almost as if your presence is a bother to them. How dare you order a drink? Mind you, the ONLY people you interact with ARE the bartenders. The tall blonde bartender had her back to the counter and not once greeted, acknowledged or turned around. She carried on with her conversation with the other bartender as if she was off the clock and in a back room. The bartender that reluctantly assisted took our order because if he didn't then we would have been standing there like complete idiots. Oh, and the 18% gratuity is automatically sprinkled into your bill. Very much merited for such excellent service. Until you have to go to the bar & interact with staff to get a drink- mood killer! The staff has never been nice, friendly or warm. Getting a drink and interacting with staff, makes me want to leave. But I don't because its a long drive to get there & I really like enjoying sunsets at this particular location.. If service was better, I would visit more often. read more

We were out on the water and decided we wanted to get some drinks & watch the Colorado vs. Oregon football game. We docked at this lil bar that seemed like it was an oasis in the distance. This was one of the highlights of our Miami weekend trip. This cool lil bar had a bunch of seating and views of the beautiful Florida water & skies for days. All the bartenders were cool as hell. They were extremely knowledgeable of all the drinks and had great suggestions for us. I saw they had Cachaça, so I opted for a simple Blueberry Caipirihia. Everyone in our group had a great time laughing, crying at the CU Buffaloes lost, and talking with all the great people & staff there. I wish we had more time next time I'm in the Miami Key Biscayne area I'm dropping in for sure. If you want to feel like Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville vibes of good times with great employees drop on into this place. Came here for a birthday and the whole group had never been which was pretty cool. It's a great vibe, and meant for people to just take it easy and enjoy the view and the breeze. The have live music here too which is sweet. Closes a little early (8pm Sun/Tue/Wed, 10pm Thu/Fri/Sat) but we had a blast. Would definitely come again and especially on the solo to just cool out. Side note: I saw an earlier review about the place being "Anti-Kids" and clearly that person has a reading comprehension problem. There is a sign that says your children have to be SUPERVISED at all times. Which is appropriate, because its a BAR. BARS are for ADULTS. Please stop trying to pin responsibility on places for your children. No establishment is REQUIRED to make the environment suitable for your kid. Why the hell are you brining your kid to a bar? I have been wanting to try The Cleat in Key Biscayne. 1st let me start by saying this an unique and hidden bar spot in Bill Baggs State Park. There are 2 spots Boaters Grill and a short walk to the point at No Name Harbor will get you to The Cleat. This is not Brickell or South Beach....I repeat This is not Brickell or South Beach. SO don't come expecting that type of atmosphere. Boater's Grill has been at the park for years. IF you are a fan of a seafood especially the whole fried Florida snapper....then this is your place. Be prepared to wait a little and sweat a little as it is not air conditioned. You can come by boat or through the Bill Baggs State Park entrance. The have tables available in the screened in restaurant or other outside table options. The Cleat as I said is a short walk from there. This is a bar with a a small selection of appetizers. We had the pleasure of Inga taking our orders. She made a fantastic margarita and served a stellar homemade fresh passion fruit sangria. We placed our food order at the bar. We found a spot to sit while our food was prepared. We ordered ceviche, shrimp cocktail and chips and guacamole. The ceviche was fresh and a little spicy. The guacamole was delicious but the serving size was on the small side. The shrimp was fresh and there was a nice amount for 2 people. I could watch the sunset here every day. If you find yourself boating in Key Biscayne you must set the GPS to No Name Harbor. Come here late afternoon and end your day with a well made cocktail and a sunset over Miami. read more

I saw the most spectacular sunset from this outside beach bar. It's spacious with lots of seating but you can also bring your beach chairs just in case. Very family friendly. Don't come hungry since even though they have a complete drink bar menu, there are only 3 small appetizers available and a charcuterie board. However Boaters Grill is a 5 min walk away so you can go there before or after. The guava mojitos are wickedly strong but delicious. My husband and I ordered a piña colada, an aperol Spris, fish dip, and guac - total was $70 with tip. This felt a little steep to us but "typical miami". Good thing we weren't too hungry. The drinks were okay at best, as was the guac. The fish dip was great but very very small. Is this spot worthy of the trip from the main land? Probably not ... but if you've spent some time hanging out at the state park and want to cap your day off with something different, I would stop by for a drink and skip the food. read more

I enjoy coming here to watch the sunset after a long day on the boat or at the beach. It is pricey but I expect that from places that are on the water. One thing I found frustrating is that they open at 3:00pm but the kitchen doesn't open until 4/4:30pm or after (no official time). We kept trying to order some snacks and they kept telling us the kitchen would open in 10 or 15 minutes and an hour and a half later the kitchen still never opened. They also put so much ice in the drinks and for the price.. also beware of the mosquitos and noseeums bugs! Bring bug spray. The positives are the amazing mojitos (there's a guava coconut one, so good), the sunset and the beach vibes. read more

I've never felt so unwelcome by a restaurant staff before and as if we were unworthy of service. What a shame as I had been looking forward to checking out this spot for months Tried to enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon. There are no servers so after being ignored we went up to the bar to order and they ignored us, finally said hello but was not friendly at all. We wanted to order food, the older lady with blonde hair said there's no one in the kitchen, and walked away. We asked her what time it would open and all three bartenders ignored our question. The lack of customer service was super off putting so we went back to our seats to figure out our plan. We had a pack of sandwiches on the table from our beach day. The man with the beard asked security to tell us put the food away. The security was very nice. No problem, we put the food away. We decide to wait for the kitchen to open so we can order food, but the bartenders decide to continue harassing us and ask the security guard to come over and ask us if we were ordering drinks. Again the security guard was very nice. We continue to get stares from the bartending staff, at this point we felt very unwelcome. This staff needs serious training, to understand that they work in customer service and to learn what good customer service is. read more

It was nicely lit in the evening. For our first time, my boyfriend and I went to check out this spot which we found on Instagram. It's what one would call a beach bar.
