Such a cute Italian pizzeria! My grandparents live nearby, and this has been their favorite spot for as long as I can remember. As a family, we've been coming here for over 30 years, which makes it feel extra special every time we visit. You can't miss the red, white, and green awning out front , it's classic and welcoming. Inside is just as charming, with that cozy, neighborhood pizzeria feel. The food never disappoints. They have my favorite garlic rolls by far! The calzones, pizzas, and baked ziti are always go-to orders for us. Portions are fair, pricing is reasonable, and everything feels consistently good. Entering the traditional Italian restaurant I noticed colors of terracotta, deep reds, oranges, mustard yellows, and olive greens which evoke the rich landscapes of Italy and created a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. I ordered a slice of extra crispy cheese pizza which was placed into the massive oven and ready in minutes. The slice was perfectly cooked with just enough garlic and passed the "flop test". They offer fresh daily specials in addition to the town's famous cannolis. The J Bar lounge is attached to the Italian hot spot which has live music and Saturday Karaoke nights. After the holiday parade we choose to come here with our group. It was great. Service was amazing and attentive they opened and sat us quickly. The food came out quick too and it was delicious. Took the wife on Mothers Day for Linguini & Clams which I tasted and very good, but not the Calamari I ordered so chewy couldn't even swallow it, never order that again there, other places I order, so good. OKAY PIZZA BUT JUST DO TAKE-OUT We recently had lunch at Jacaranda Pizzeria Restaurant that is located at the end of a small strip mall on Broward Blvd off Pine island Road. This place has been here for years and it looks it - the restaurant was old and tired, the tables were not very clean and food was served on old plates with battered utensils. There was only one overworked waitress handling the lunch crowd (at the time around 8 tables). Soon after we sat ourselves, the waitress dropped off menus with a half dozen garlic rolls. We ordered a Caesar Salad ($10.95) and Medium 14" Cheese Pizza ($15.95 + $2.50 extra cheese). The Caesar Salad was okay and large enough for two to share. Skip the garlic rolls that were dense and hard. The classic NYC style pizza was good - foldable thin crust with hot bubbly cheese on top. If you come here, ask the pizza guy to slice your pizza in equal size slices - our pie had slices that were twice the size of the smallest slices. We would come here again but just for take-out pizza. read more

Well, being in Florida, as a New Yorker I don't really hold the food quality as high as I would if I were in New York BUT What a wonderful surprise - good food, not hoity-toity My waitress Stephanie was awesome. She knew I was in the hotel and even got me plastic utensils so I could take my leftovers home so I would not have to throw it out because it was really good. Big fan will be back. First and foremost was the extremely attentive service from Lee (name that was on receipt) . She handled our table with split checks and a three year old who is beautiful and loves attention. Most servers shy away from this challenge, but Lee jumped in with both feet. She took out the young ladies coloring books and pad and was coloring with her and drawing with her then she was able to take our orders and drink orders and get them all in in a timely manner and we were very shortly enjoying a nice meal. I had chicken Marcella my buddy had the lasagna. The young lady had a pizza and I believe the other guy had a veal dish. Overall, the food was pretty good and we would come back for the same level of quality of food, but the level of service and the level of attentiveness that she gave to our party is the driving factor on why I would go back there? Not sure who the ownership group is or who the management team is but somebody please take the time to talk to Lee and recognize the fact that somebody notices that she makes a big difference in the customer experience in that place. You can get a pizza anywhere you can get a delicious spaghetti anywhere but it's the customer service experience and the one on one that she brings is definitely what's gonna bring people back. A few of the people that work here are passive aggressive and rude. The two neanderthals behind the pizza counter and one waitress. They know who they are. Decency and gratitude are not to be found here. These are not warm, friendly or welcoming people at this restaurant. What a bunch of D$#@S!! I used to love Jacaranda Pizza. I picked up a pizza there tonight and it was awful - nearly inedible. It was cold, there wasn't much cheese, the spinach I had as a topping tasted like it was from a can. It was expensive and they added a charge for use of a credit card - which I know is becoming the norm but annoys me because the pizza tasted so bad! read more

The owner of this restaurant just kicked me in my family out for having a service dog. I explained that I have a doctors note, I quoted the Americans with disabilities act, and he still said that this is not a barnyard and animals are not allowed. He called the police on me, and the police explained to him that I was within my right. I looked him in the eyes and I will never shop there again. Stopped bye for the first time for a few slices of Pizza. The slices very Very neat looking. They use high quality Mozzarella cheese. In Plantation everyone talks about this place constantly. Ordered a medium and a large. It wasn't expensive, but it was priced on the "this better be amazing" side and it fell short. First of all, our server, Lilly, was amazing. She was helpful and there when you needed something. The soup was fresh and amazing. The dinners were ok. Lasagna was cold in the middle which was disappointing. Great presentation though and a big portion. The pasta dish was good although a little too much pasta water still in the bowl. Always hated the crusty guy who answered the phone because you felt like you were bothering him. Well, now they have a lovely , pleasant young lady taking the phone orders. What a nice surprise. Other than that , prices have jumped astronomically , portions are quite a bit smaller , garlic rolls were day old at best and salad had almost as much browned lettuce as it did green. I'm giving it a 4 because overall I had fun, and we had the best waitress, it's a family style older Italian restaurant. Portions are massive! Quality is good, not wow. Only complaint I have is the cheese they use is very salty but overall I enjoyed it and would go back to try other foods. I had the lasagna and it's not your usual square lasagna. I have seen this place a zillion times since I was a teen in the 90s, and I never ate there. Now I know why. My father, mother, grandmother, sister, brother, sister in law, niece and nephew and myself went for dinner on a Monday night. There were maybe 2 other parties in the restaurant. We were seated and the server took our beverage orders and scampered off to fill them. When she came back we were ready to order: we got 3 pizzas total, a tuna salad for grandma and some chicken fingers for the kids. We were told that they were "really busy with takeout orders." That's nice, what does that have to do with us? Apparently what that means is that we had to wait almost 60 minutes for our pizzas. Lucky for the kids and my grandmother their food came out within 15 min. The salad was really sad- just some lettuce, tomato, onion and tuna on it. Not worth the price at all. Unsure why they couldn't sandwich our order in before the take out orders. I did see there were about 5 slips hanging when we entered the building, but I counted about 12 people come and go with take out orders. The server did offer an apology but words don't really mean much when the action isn't there. On top of it, the pizzas were so bland, that I actually got mad about it. The sauce was minimal and only tasted like tomatoes- no garlic, onion, basil, nothing was detected by myself or my sister. The crust was tough and too chewy, maybe it was kneaded too much? My parents ate their food and didn't complain but I could see that they were disappointed, especially after such a long wait. I definitely can't see me ever going back here again. read more

My boyfriend and I have been going here for awhile. I was surprised about the reviews. I am sorry you Yelpers did not have a great experience or did not like the food. However, I enjoy this place a lot. All the waitress and waiters are friendly. There is this waitress who always treats my boyfriend and I so nicely. As a matter of fact, as we left she told one of the cookers "Those two are sweet customer" which I was flattered. Anyways, the Linguine & Clams White Sauce is my favorite. The pasta is cooked just right. My boyfriend got his Chicken & Broccoli, he was satisfied with his meal for sure. As for the Cheese Pizza, that was for my boyfriend's dad. 2 Cheese Pizza was leftover, but I assure you the next day it will be gone! Overall, I love Jacaranda. Friday night we ordered to go from here, called in for a large pizza and chicken francaise. The guy on the phone gave me a number and said 15 minutes. Went in 15 minutes and it was ready and DELISH. The sauce was not very thick but it was tasty, and the pizza was great. It was a margherita pizza, but they also used ricotta cheese. Super tasty but my daughter isn't a fan of ricotta, so we decided to try it without next time.... Next time came really soon... Saturday night. We actually dined in and Lina took care of us. We had the chicken marsala (thin but tasty sauce again) and the pizza, but this time, no ricotta. The service was quick and efficient and the food again was really good. The décor is nothing special but the food is good. We had chicken parmesan dinners and pepperoni pizza, and we were satisfied with both the portion sizes and the taste. We started with the ubiquitous garlic rolls that all Italian restaurants offer. They were fresh and doughy, which we enjoyed. And not overly garlicy. The salads were standard fare and the pasta fagioli soup seemed more like a minestrone soup, but it was flavorful. The sauce on the chicken parms & the accompanying sides of pasta was rich and flavorful. The chicken was tender, and we had enough left over for another whole meal. Since Jacaranda is known for their pizza, we had to try it. We weren't disappointed. Nice chewy crust. We also appreciated that they offer a 10 inch "baby" size pizza, which was just the right size. Department lunch to Jacaranda Pizzeria turned me on to a new eatery that I love. The inside is one of those quaint, diner like decorated places. You know, the black chairs with the brown cushions and those easy to wipe mats? It's a staple of any place that has good food. We were sat upon entry and I noticed for lunchtime, it wasn't very busy. The server gave us drinks, ran over the specials and we placed our order. Note: they give you garlic knots- do not pass these up. They are warm, soft, butter and very garlicky. They are delicious. Don't plan on kissing anyone after lunch, but who cares. The lunch portion of the chicken Parmesan was enormous. I think the meal itself was around $8-$9 and honestly I think I would have paid $15-$16 elsewhere for what I got. Huge hunk of chicken accompanied by a big pile of spaghetti. Everything was perfect. I've heard their pizza is great too so that's on my list of things to try so stay tuned. It was the perfect lunch meeting because no one talked.
