Recently attended a retirement dinner for one of my coworkers here. I had been to this place a long time ago, but don't recall much about my past experiences. Since we were a large group we had a private room behind the bar. There were plenty of servers there to take care of us. We were given a salad to start off with. I really enjoyed the dressing on the salad. For our entree, we were offered 3 options: fettuccini chicken Alfredo, lasagna, and shrimp Milano. I chose the shrimp Milano because I wanted to see how it compared to shrimp Paesano. The dish came with noodles and some vegetables. I thought the dish was great. For dessert we were presented with a cannoli. It was a perfect ending to the meal. Since I don't crave Italian much, I'm not sure how soon I'll be back, but I did enjoy my experience. We went here over the weekend to celebrate our anniversary, because, we heard the food was the real deal authentic Italian !! Staff seemed to be nowhere to be found. We weren't met by anyone at the front door and were waiting for a good 3-4 minutes before someone acknowledged us. No bartender ?? So servers are extra slow because they have to make their own drinks. We waited a good 15-20 minutes for our drinks because it was "busy" and the servers were being yelled at by what I'm assuming was the manager ? An older woman (very disrespectful.. no personality/ understanding for customer relations) that refused to be bothered to move/ help. To the point the servers were actively delivering things to customers and in front of said customers would yell hey so and so come sit your table! How unprofessional, and such a disaster. Now; onto the food. I'm not really sure why this place gets so much hype ? Chicken Parmesan was sub par... chicken was extra chewy/ rubbery.. had hardly any sauce and mixed veggies were so hard neither I or my wife could eat them. Appetizers are really lacking. Ordered the shrimp Milano because it was highly recommended. Was cold, greasy, and soggy. Complimentary bread was overcooked and hard. We also ordered the almond encrusted tilapia. Fish was so fishy we weren't even sure if it was edible anymore. Took a bite each and declined it due to our personal health. Did try to speak to a manager (because it is by no means the servers fault ! ) and she blatantly dismissed us and told us we were wrong and the food was up to standard (I believe her name was Rhonda ?) .. she then proceeded to say if we didn't want to come back we don't have to. I had their #1 item: Shrimp Milano and was delicious! Lightly breaded with just enough seasoning. The angel hair pasta that was served with it was in a delightful yet light butter garlic sauce. The hot rolls were tasty and right from the oven, so butter melted on them immediately. The lunch portion came with a super fresh salad. Our book club got a private room. The waiter handled our separate checks without any confusion. Our waiter added little spots of humor and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Plenty of parking. Full bar. Tea and water refills came regularly. Only down side today - the restrooms were out of order. read more

The food and service here has always been excellent, and it is why this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. My family had been eating here often for at least the past 25-30 years, at least. My parents worked right up the road, so they ate lunch there often. The owner was very attentive and he would always stop by our table to say hello and make sure we were happy. We never had bad service there, and the food was prepared perfectly. My favorite entree of all time is the Snapper Milano. It is delectable! Escargot was always a tasty appetizer to stimulate my taste buds. The atmosphere is classy and great for a romantic dinner. They have outside patio dining, where my parents, my husband and I celebrated my 34th birthday. We celebrated my parents 50th anniversary there in 2004. My parents have both passed on, and my husband and I moved out of the area, but I will be sure to return one of these days for some more Snapper or Shrimp Milano. read more

They host a wonderful lunch in their party room to rest and they have a fixed menu for these type of events. We real enjoy having our volunteer lunch ins here and appreciate their consistent service and food! Very prompt and delicious! They are accommodating and attentive! read more

We decided to stop in here at the last minute for dinner last night. There was a lot of people, but luckily we were able to get a table right away. They have a piano player playing live, which is awesome. We started with the Italian margaritas, which is one of the best drinks I've ever had in my life! So good! They started us with bread, but it was a little bit stiff. And then we had to wait a while for our food. That was a little bit disappointing because we were both pretty hungry. Lasagna but I thought it could've been a little bit better. My wife really enjoyed he chicken fettuccine Alfredo, but would've enjoyed it more if we didn't have to wait so long to get it. Stopped in for lunch one recent Saturday with some friends for my first visit to Milano on Wurzbach. First off - our server Alex was AMAZING from start to finish. She had great attention to detail, impeccable customer service, and was super fun to talk and interact with. (she's a real asset for the establishment!) I ordered the Mustard Chicken lunch special for my entree with penne pasta on the side. Between the warm bread service and the house salad (OMG can we talk about how delicious the house dressing is?) I was already feeling a bit full by the time everyone's food came out super quick and with VERY generous portions. My mustard chicken was soooo good and the lemon garlic butter sauce that topped the noodles was the stuff dreams are made of. My friend next to me who ordered the chicken piccata let me try some of her dish and I'll be darned if it wasn't delicious too! My other friend went with the chicken parmesan but she said it was too good and she wasn't sharing. :) I had plenty left over for dinner the next day. We went for my B-Day. We ordered appetizers and wine. When we began to order our main dinner entrees is when we found out that certain menu choices were not available . Obviously they were hoping that we would not select any of these menu items that had the spoiled crab mrat and mussels. We all chose other items. Mine was Chicken Milano which was served without the shrimp. And iver cooked chicken. They blamed the new chef. They also said that they would reduce our bill by 20%. This did not happen. The side salad was also nice, very flavorful dressing. My wife had the chicken fettuccine and it was also very good. Portions are not huge but definitely enough to fill up. Service was great as well. Disappointing birthday lunch. Same here for a late lunch for my 48th bday. We literally were the only customers there at 3:30. We got the shrimp Milano appetizer which had good flavor but after that we waited 45 min for a pizza and eggplant. It took so long. On the menu it says the eggplant dinner comes with pasta and vegetables which I wanted both and was one reason I ordered it. When it came it had no vegetables. I asked and was told they don't include them anymore. The food itself was not bad but the service and taking away parts of things listed on the menu still was frustrating. No desert for birthday. This is a more established restaurant. They give fresh bread and butter, this time bread wasn't as warm or fresh as I've had before. Dinner salad was fresh with a tasty house dressing. The shrimp Milano was decent but didn't stand out for the price point of this restaurant. Chicken fettuccine was ok. In all the experience was at best mediocre. 10 Jan 2023 This used to be my aunt and uncle's favorite place. We finally tried them. We went to eat before we tended to our feral cat colonies in the I10 and Wurzbach area. Thought it would be easy to get to at 4:30pm. Uh, no. It took almost 45 minutes to get there from I10. Yikes. Traffic on Wurzbach is mind-boggling! Anyway, now we are here. This is a very pretty place with a patio. Several people were on the patio in the mild weather. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that we (seniors) can order from the lunch menu until 6pm. It's also happy hour. The regular menu can be quite pricey. We were served bread pretty fast. It was soft and delicious, served with yummy butter. The husband ordered the shrimp Milano ( like Paisanos?). I had the chicken Parmesan, my go-to at a new place. Both dishes were good. Came with a side of angel hair pasta and house salad with their house Italian dressing. The salad was fresh-tasting and the Italian dressing was not overpowering as some can be. Service was great. Seems like the food quality has gone down. Used to rave to others about their Lambchops but now forget about it. The tuna was over cooked and tasteless. My son's spaghetti was like eating tomato paste he had to drink like 4 cups of water to keep eating his meal because the sauce was too thick. We have been going to Milanos for years and alway love the food and service, but yesterday was a disappointment. We arrived at 4:30 and it was nice afternoon so we asked if they would be ok with us sitting on the patio, like would we have a server as there was no one dinning on the patio. We were assured yes we would. We order our first drinks and then we did not see anyone for 20 minutes. I went into the restaurant and did not see our server so I asked the bar tender if we could order another drink I didn't see our server, he was very nice and said yes I will get your drinks and tell your sever you need to see him. Someone came out I think the manager with our drinks, and said he would send someone out. Another server then came out and she said our server had left and she was going to take care of us now. We thanked her and enjoyed our drinks but she never came back. So again I went inside to ask for our sever, as we were ready to order our dinner by this time with all the delays we had been then an hour and a half if not longer. Our server then came out and took our order, about 10 minutes later someone I believe the manager comes out with our food but it was not what we ordered, I told him what we order and he took the food back and our server came out and she said oh sorry I was on the phone and forgot, I thought you order the Shrimp Milano. Needless to say our lovely afternoon turned into a disappointment. read more

Amazing spot. My husband and I (and puppy) were in town for the day and found this wonderful spot for lunch! We sat on the patio with our puppy, sooo happy it was dog friendly and covered, since it was raining. The waiter came quickly and served us - we got the grilled salmon and spaghetti and meatballs. Quick service and delish food! Come to find out our waiter was the owner, Tony! He was so humble and we could tell he truly cared about our experience. The tiramisu dessert was 10/10! I preface this review with the fact that this was Valentines Day. Service was very very slow. Drinks were very good. Waiter forgot the calamari until I reminded him. Calamari was late but the food came too soon after that. And it was mostly cold. Pasta was luke warm. My date's fish was bland. My lamb was very good. They had 3 dessert choices but they were out of one of them. The tiramisu was average at best. To top it off a were over-charged for our drinks compared to the price on the menu. Then for what ever reason the waiter disappeared for about 10 minutes so we could not pay the check I have eaten here before and it was better than a 3. But today that is all I can give. read more

The mahi mahi also was not the texture of mahi mahi that I have had many times before had at other seafood restaurants. This fish dinner was dry. The ambiance was nice, but will not be returning. Why didn't I check the reviews before I went. Real quick. Wednesdays is a day we go have really good food. We were on the area and in a time crunch so we stopped here. WORST mistake. I'll take the blame. Not busy at all. You would think that would be good for service. Not really. Slow service like the review indicate. Food was eh at best and the Calamari was old maybe. I sent one back another came the same way. Maybe frozen prior? It was not good. Nonetheless. Our waiter. Nice guy. Couple months on the job he stated which is understandable but the manager only attended to a certain couple our whole time there. This is even after our meal issue. The only hello we got was at the door when we arrived from her. Maybe the older couple was family. I hope so. Because I hope they continue to go. Because we will not. Not today. Not ever. Full disclosure. Our waiter got a 20.00 tip. On a 50 dollar tab. Wasn't his fault. This place just isn't good. 2nd photo is of the manager with her favorite table. Food was okay. We had the shrimp Milano. Shrimp was dry and pasta was missing salt/taste. Overall most of the staff was friendly. What was not good was the bathroom situation. First off there is only one stall, creating a line. Second, it does not have a changing table! I was quite surprised and disappointed. I can't think of any other restaurant experiences in San Antonio (family friendly city) that do not have a changing table. This decision is quite isolate and discriminatory towards women and families. This means your options are: stay home and miss out on family celebrations, allow your kid to develop a rash, lie your baby on a dirty floor (whilst you're wearing a dress), change your baby in your trunk whilst it's raining/115+ degrees/ below 30 degrees F... and the list goes on. I'm sure this need is only a pain point when a customer needs it. The owner is simply not creating a welcoming inclusive environment by the lack of action. read more

This location of Milano was the first one my husband and I had been to several years ago and we had a good experience. Recently, my neighbors and I met at the Stone Oak location for happy hour. One of my neighbors got the Shrimp Milano, which looked really good. Today, my coworkers and I went for lunch to celebrate my coworker's birthday. I immediately told our server that I have a meeting and have a short time for lunch. She was quite on top of it to get our drinks and food orders out quickly - Shrimp Milano, Eggplant Parmesan, and Grilled Chicken. Everyone enjoyed the food! The slight hiccup was in trying to get a to-go box and pay the bill. We visited Milanos this weekend to celebrate my mom's 88th birthday. I love this no fuss beautiful environment with great food. My chicken piccata and Chicken Milano was great. The chicken Marsala is also very too good. I've been there 4 times this year and always very nice experience. read more
