I haven't been here in a really long time since my kids were little. I took them here today because my son wanted to try this place. When we walked in no greetings whatsoever an older man took my orde, but couldn't hear or understand what I was saying and went to another man to clarify my order. I ordered a large roasted garlic supreme because I heard good stuff about it. When I was getting ready to pay the phone rings and he just answers the phone and didn't excuse himself or place them on hold. I dont have time to wait for you to take someone's order while am standing here 5mins. When he was done with the call didnt apologize like I expected. I paid and ask how long he joked and said tomorrow come on man. He then goes 20-25mins. After waiting for 20mins came back in pizza was done I opened the box and didnt expect it to be a medium size I left and didnt want to look back. I used to go to Milan's when they were in Manteca untill they started to serve sour meat in their sandwich and when I had delivery,I found the the driver's we're eating some of my food before they dropped it off I can not trust a company that can't trust the people they work for and I had called the a couple times and told them that items were missing. Came in this morning for something different so i ordered the chicken kabob plate. I should have cancelled as soon as i saw him jump in the freezer after placing my order but gave him the benefit of a doubt. He warned me it was going to be about 15 min which it was. When I opened my plate i was excited to see everything looked fresh and seasoned properly, but the excitement was stolen from me as soon as i bit into the first piece of chicken. The crust has a nice chew check, The sauce is good , it has a sweet note, and isn't over powering. The cheese blend is perfectly melty, stretching and caramelized. The business is To Go right now , So I ordered a Shami Kebab Combo Dinner To Go! Beware they Charge a 3 Percent Fee for Credit Card Usage!!! So I paid by Credit Card and found out about the Service Charge that way. Service was Friendly and Efficient!!! I had my food 15 minutes later! Packed to go.!!! Yelpers did it again. I was hoping for a great pizza where all three of us could sit down for an hour and connect with each other. Unfortunately, it was harder to find, partially because the goons are making it impossible for restaurants to operate profitably, partially because we went on Martin Luther King Day and many pizza places were closed for the holiday. Fortunately, Milan's was open. Yelpers wrote collectively "I *love* this pizza!" After eating it, I see that they have a good reason to write this. Milan's has been established for a relatively short time. Mostly because Lathrop has been established for only a short time. No place in town has the history like many places in Manteca. It's set up as a small, casual place to have your pie and eat it too. Feels like a fast food joint instead of a traditional pizza place, not that there's anything wrong with it. Unique to 2020-21, and hopefully limited to those years, is there was no place to sit inside, by order of the goons. There are two small tables outside, and this is where we sat. Milan's would be a perfect place to defy the mandates and operate normally, knowing that this will have no negative effect on public health, indeed it would strengthen public health. Okay, what about the pie? Milan's is regionally famous for making the biggest pizzas in the area: 28 inches! We got the 18 incher, 12 slices, all meat: pepperoni, salami, ham, beef, and linguica. We needed forks: the Hunny pulled out her slice, and all of the toppings came off. The girl pulled out hers, same thing happened. The crust is wimpy, and that doesn't help. The taste, however, is tremendous. All of the toppings were tasty, well-cooked, and filling. Both of us love meaty pizzas, and the girl is finally developing a carnivorous tongue, and all of us were talking a lot about how great the taste was. They may have had pitchers of Coke for sale, but I didn't see it on the menu. A pitcher would come in handy, Milan's pizza is as salty and greasy as most pizzas. Our 20 oz RCs were not enough. As for what's available for pizza, there were enough choices to satisfy anyone, including vegetarians. A good solid 4 Yelp stars. Strengthen the crust on the bottom, add pitchers of soft drinks if they're not there now, and it would become a well-deserved 5 stars. If they offer indoor dining again and leave it up to customers what PPE to use, then we'd be happy to make the trek out here from the Bay Area. read more
