When moving to Colorado , I was desperately searching for a trainer that would listen to my needs and work with me through my knee and low back pain, I've had a handful of horrible trainers in the past that never listened to my body or my goals. Ty created customized workouts (and continues to do so) that are tailored specifically to me and my goals. He starts out with a consultation to go over your BMI, macros, etc to ensure he knows how to make a customized plan thats right for you. I came to him with specific goals and he helped me reach them successfully and feel confident in my workouts and my form. Im tall, so "one stance doesn't fit all" and he taught me that which immensely improved my workouts and my low back and knee pain. Through COVID, Ty navigated the rules and regulations perfectly - helping me virtually stay on top of my fitness and also making sure my mental health through lockdown wasn't on the decline. I started training with Ty about 3 years ago after several attempts at finding a trainer that not only mindfully understood my previous sports injuries but knew how to coach/aid in my daily recovery. Ty did just that. Through his FST and by incorporating activating stretches at the start of each workout, I found that the areas that gave me the most issues or fears of re-injuring became stronger and stronger, to the point that they no longer dictated my workouts like they had in years past - these exercises are my go-to daily exercises that I do everyday outside of the gym! This success can be attributed to Ty's vast knowledge of the body. His programs are meticulously thought-out each week, focusing on different movements and the the goals of his clients. He offers a healthy variety of muscle building/bulking lifting blocks, as well as, muscle toning and fat burning lifting blocks that were perfect for giving the body a rest after a heavy lifting block. I came to Ty about 4 years ago. I was as out of shape and eating as poorly as I have in my entire life. I had some old injuries from my time wrestling in college and they had let my unable to do any of the activities I enjoyed (golf, grappling, etc.) Ty sat down with me, talked about my goals of getting back into shape and returning to sport, and put together a very specific plan for me. After 4 years of searching, Mile High Athletics is one of my favorite places in Denver. Ty has helped me develop a personalized approach to my fitness which has impacted my life in such positive ways. He has helped me set, achieve and overcome goals based on what I want to get out of his program. I consider myself a beginner athlete so in the beginning, we started to build a foundation deliberately and methodically. After several months of training with Ty, I'm the strongest I have ever been and am more confident about my appearance. I continue to learn more about weightlifting, HIT, what to eat/caloric intake and leading a healthy life. We've never done the same workout twice. Ty has helped me gain strength and mobility all while losing weight. I really like the community vibe of the Kompound location. I also like that our sessions are not in a packed gym. I have learned a lot and after years of lower back issues, I think my core strength will be great enough so that I can ski for the first time in years, this year. I don't use Mile High Athletics for personal training, I use them for Fascial Stretching. I've been seeing Ty for almost a year now and we meet every week for 1 hour. I don't like Yoga and find that I clock watch doing it. Fascial Stretching is like Yoga on steriods. My body isn't as sore in the mornings and my overall health has been much better since seeing Ty. I pay $60 a session but $240/month has paid in spades with my body feeling less sore and more mobile. It's an investment into my body and health and it's been well worth it. What I like the most and makes Fascial Stretching unique, is Ty does all the work while you lay and relax on the table Unlike Yoga. For anyone in the Denver/RiNo area looking for a place to help you with your flexibility besides Yoga, I highly recommend checking Mile High Athletics out. read more

Ty is great! I went to see him for fascial stretch therapy right after being a total jerk to my body and doing a 2 day CrossFit competition and he saved me. I was amazed at how much better I felt not only right after, but in the following days. Usually a comp like that has me out for a whole week, but I was ready to go a few days later. I love that his work is gentle while still being intentional. You're not in all this pain, but you are very aware of work being done on your body. I guess it's not showy. It's just legit. I've been working out here for the last three months and I already notice a vital difference in my strength and endurance.Ty Sonaty offers a wide range of classes throughout the week that could fit any schedule. I came in with a pre existing condition in my shoulder and he was able to give me exercises to work around hurting myself further, and most importantly, he helped to rebuild the strength in my shoulder.
