I would not recommend this company…read more I chose them because the scope I discussed with the account manager included replacing my flooring and installing a new vanity I had already purchased. I verbally confirmed that scope with the account manager and paid an invoice that included a line item for that portion of the work. Despite that, the installer arrived without all of the necessary materials and informed me he was not comfortable installing the vanity. To be clear, I have no issue with the installer declining work he wasn't comfortable performing. What I do have an issue with is being told afterward that vanity installation was never included, despite it being discussed with the account manager and being a major reason I selected this company over other bids. The installer himself encouraged me to request a refund for that portion of the project, but the company only provided a partial refund ($180). As a result, I am left with an unfinished project, a sink currently being held up by a 2x4, and the need to hire a second contractor to complete the work. What should have been a straightforward bathroom update has turned into a major headache. By the time the project is finally finished, I will have spent significantly more than the original quote, despite choosing this company because I believed they would handle the full scope of work from start to finish.

Bryan was quick to get back to my inquiry and was at the house to assess the project within a day. 2) Knowledgeable. Our refrigerator had leaked and warped several boards. Bryan explained the pros and cons of board replacement vs letting the boards dry out. We went with the latter and saved money. We had another challenge in the fact that we did not have two rooms refinished which meant seamless color matching. Alfredo was an artist and had an eye for selecting the perfect match. Although the final decision was ours, his experience was a definite help. 3) Efficient. The whole process from start to finish only took three days. We used the opportunity for a little vacation in the mountains and came home to beautiful floors! 4) Professional. Kevin, the project manager, came the weekend before to assess the job site and answer any questions. Alberto hung plastic and taped off the areas to reduce dust and vacuumed any remaining dust before the final coat. The crew finished in 1 day +2 hours the next day. They didn't mask off our new kitchen cabinets (or anything else) as they were supposed to so everything was covered in sanding dust. They left in a hurry without locking up the house. The front door was propped open with the key in the deadbolt and all of the lights left on. They left tools and trash inside and outside the house. The owner was apologetic afterwards but accepted zero responsibility for his crew. You might think they would check to make sure everything was done correctly before letting us know they were finished, but apparently there is no quality control. There are several areas that look bad - ripples across the floor, stain on the carpeting, a splotch of stain in the hallway and a long hair sealed into the kitchen floor. We will have to hire someone else to fix these areas since we can't trust this company to be in our house.

The carpet we selected was several weeks away in terms of delivery, that was fine. The carpet showed up and the install was scheduled, there was one person to install about 1,400 square feet in a newly finished basement, up the stairs and an office on the main level. I helped the installer move furniture, which theoretically was included, and with more than one installer would not have been an issue. The real issue is that with a light carpet the installer ground leaves and gravel into the carpet, although we understand that it is common to bring the carpet into the house through the basement windows this isn't acceptable. When the installation was done it was not even vacuumed, there are stains on the new carpet, we contacted Cooks and the contact that we worked with told us that the installers are independent contractors. Great, there's almost 10K wasted, don't use them. We emailed with our concerns, and in our opinion were completely blown off.

Very promptly, within two days, Jake had put together an estimate of the labor and materials for the job. His team sent pictures to help in our decision making and found sale prices to help with our budget for the project. Within one week upon agreeing to the estimate, Jake was at our house early and put in full days. He was personable and extremely helpful in ideas that arose. His team also helped organize and spearhead all the other projects we had going at the time. All of our chimney and electrical work and estimates were handled through the company and then communicated with us. After a long period of silence, they informed us that deposits were non-refundable, yet offered only $a small percent back if we agreed to walk away. We originally planned a $50k project and ended up spending $22,500 for a 700 sq ft basement, a job that should have been a fraction of that cost.
