I am a former employee and current contractor at Milestones Ranch Malibu, having been Clinical Director in the past and presently working as a group therapist. But more to the point, I am a huge fan of Milestones. Owned and operated by the incredibly caring and talented social worker Denise Klein and her daughter Savannah Ganje, Milestones has provided in-depth assistance to clients and families for the past 20 plus years. I have seen hundreds of clients benefit from the various evidence-based modalities utilized by the Milestones clinical staff including dynamic and CBT therapy, hypnotherapy, group therapy, addiction counseling and EMDR as well as adjunct services including psychiatry, sound bath, music therapy, and more. In addition to myself, there are other long-time staff members including Celeste Racicot, Ron Borczon, and Joey Tabbanella. It's always a positive sign when staff members sign on for the long haul - it shows that they love the family atmosphere, the good vibes, the sense of helping people in a program that is all about integrity, warmth and expert care. Employees are supervised and trained by Denise, Savannah, Celeste and Amber to ensure that meals are prepared on time, paychecks delivered on time and that the facility sparkles and shines. I often say that after a stint at Milestones, every employee is ready to run their own rehab center! Employees who are dedicated, hardworking and client-centered flourish in the Milestones milieu. But what makes Milestones stand out, and why I continue on with this amazing program is - notwithstanding the clinical knowledge and practice, or the amenities, food, and cozy rooms - is the setting. It is almost impossible to explain how amazing this place is with only words. I have struggled all my life with addiction, and I have unfortunately been to another treatment center in the past. The other center was considered one of the best, but it does not even come close to the treatment I received at Milestones. Milestones is not just a place, it breaths new life into the clients lucky enough to find this place. everything, and I mean everything about this place makes you feel safe and comfortable. I felt immediately like I had been adopted into a new sober family, and that everyone had my back. I not only became a new man, but I have a family now at milestones who still check on me two years later!! It's has been 2 years since being a client at milestones ranch in Malibu. This was an absolutely life changing experience for my family and I. Being 3,000 miles away from home, and trying to change everything can be terrifying for anyone! From the moment I stepped out of those airport doors and into the care of a loving milestones employees car I felt safe. Upon arriving at milestones ranch the beautiful surroundings calmed all of my worries. The smiling faces as I walked through the door were welcoming and refreshing from the pain I was feeling inside. The staff at milestones grew to be more like family and I had never felt so at home anywhere else in my life. From the loving motherly type to the tough love and everything in between the staff is incredible and always seem to have the tools to give you to flourish! Even the women who run milestones are so involved and ready to do what ever it takes to get someone walking a better path. MILESTONES SAVED MY LIFE We were referred to Milestones by a former patient and acquaintance turned best friend. She worked with many treatment centers in Malibu, however she said she wouldn't send me to any of them EXCEPT for Milestones. Thank God for this, as it saved my life. Savannah and Denise were prompt, professional, and always available. During the most distressing time in my life, they responded with kindness, efficiency, and zero judgement. Once in treatment, I was assessed based on my personal needs - not ran through a 'standard' treatment. They brought in professionals specific to my situation where I was assessed, diagnosed, and ultimately my healing began. It has been 6+ years since entering Milestones and becoming sober, and my life is where I would have never imagined had they not intervened. I have spent a lot of time at this facility. I have never in my life known of such a warm place with such an amazing group of people. Milestones helped me from a really low point in my life and today my life is beyond my wildest dreams. Savannah, Denise, and Carolyn are the most caring, thoughtful individuals that will bend over backwards just to make sure things will work out for any client. Denise is like a mother to me whom I hold very dear to my heart and still talk to almost every day for inspiration and support. The best team of therapists, most magical hypnotherapist, and best acupuncturist on this side of the country. The food is always home cooked by the most fabulous chefs Kris and Kate. The techs that help out with day-to-day duties are nothing short of angels. I would recommend this place to anyone who really wants to improve the quality of their life or to any family member that wants their loved one healthy and able to lead a prosperous life. Unfortunately a waste of money. They charge $45k a month for mediocre therapy and a horribly untrained staff. The counselors receive no formal training which leaves us feeling like we have babysitters all day long instead of a supportive staff. All decisions are based through the woman who owns the company not through your therapists which is extremely frustrating. Simple decisions take up to a week to get answers back and makes you feel unimportant. Why have therapists and staff if only one person makes the ultimate decisions on MY treatment? These issues in a mom and pop rehab only add to the overall frustrations that I have been struggling with. I thought that treatment centers were supposed to help people....not add stress to their lives? I should have read the reviews about this place before coming here. It was a waste of time and a waste of money. I should have looked into a more reputable rehab and pursued other options. There are many more distinguished and better educated rehab centers in Malibu so do your research before sending your loved ones to Milestones. read more

I am a mother of a middle aged man who has been using since high school off and on. After many years of enabling him I finally told him last Christmas he was not to contact us again. This broke our hearts and is our only child. He checked into a hospital for detox and was recommended to Milestones Ranch because of his dual diagnosis and they had experienced great success with very difficult cases. Dan had been in many programs during these years and never had any real success. Milestones approached his disease in a diffident way. Full physical evaluation, healthy eating habits, exercise, and fun and intense therapy, were all part of a new way of living for Dan. The Milestones program and staff has given me back my son who I thought was lost. There is no "blame or shame" in their program.That was almost a year ago, he continues to go to after care and is celebrating 10 months of sobriety!. They have the best discharge plans I have seen from any facility. Clients can do a free tuneup week. Alumni can come for free every Sunday for life.
