I really like D'Amore's Pizza. For some reason it just hits for me. It's not Domino's, it's not Pizza Hut... it's just good pizza. Nothing complicated, just something I actually enjoy eating. Like most pizza though, it's best fresh. Don't let it sit too long. I've had their pizza, their pasta, and their hot wings. Pasta was good, wings were how I like them--super wet but still cooked right. Service is usually nice too. The guys behind the counter seem like they actually enjoy what they do and are genuinely kind. It's not a hole-in-the-wall pizza spot, but it is on the smaller side inside. I didn't expect at 3 AM on a Thursday to fall in love but these garlic knots had other plans they are insanely good irresistible! Warm, soft buttery garlicky perfection... I I haven't even told you about the marinara sauce! The marinara sauce spot on! No joke! One dip and I literally stopped Mid chew! This is not your average watery lazy straight from the Can nonsense! No, this is proper marinara! It's Rich. It's got depth. It's bold. It's got seasoning. It's got actual flavor! The tomatoes taste like they were grown by someone who actually cares about tomatoes. The garlic, perfect the herb fresh.! It's the kind of sauce that makes you rethink every bat marinara sauce you've had before and there are many bad ones! The true test, you dip a garlic knot in the sauce I am transported back three years to when I was in Italy! This sauce doesn't compliment the food it elevate it! I used to be a pretty frequent customer of the Westwood location that is long since gone . After having a swim lesson in the valley I remember that there was a location close by and had the chance to check it out tonight. I ordered my standard pepperoni slice and sausage and mushroom slice and this location did not disappoint !!! D'amores serves the best slices in LA hands-down. The pizza has so many toppings on it and also a variety of toppings. They are not stingy at all! Lots of seasoning and lots of flavor. The pizzas run around $20-25 depending on the size. This is an unassuming place on Ventura Blvd across from the LA fitness. There is a small lot near by to park but I decided to walk in. There is also street parking. The place is a normal mom and pop looking type place. It has tables chairs and pictures on the wall of the celebrities that D'Amore has met. This includes Dwayne Johnson the Rock! How cool! I was promptly greeted. I ordered the meat lovers pizza. The large was perfect for two people and we had several slices to spare. Try it! I will be back! read more
