Lovely place with lovely staff! The coffee was absolutely amazing and well balanced. They asked if I wanted it sweet and I said yes but it's not OVERLY sweet like some major chains I got the Lavender Delight and am obsessed with the touch of lavender in it that really makes it dreamy. I wanted to try the Chocolate Monkey but settled for this cause I'm still stuck in a Lavender Haze. The shop itself had a lot of space I was surprised. They've done A LOT to make it warm and inviting compared to when it was the shipping office. I love that they have artwork from I believe they said 20 local artist? And y'all the prices weren't bad at all. I thought I saw $20 for a wrapped copper necklace that's a steal. That stuff ain't easy to do lol. Anyway, lovely local spot I intend on revisiting! Really cute local coffeeshop with a hardcore sloth theme. Not only do they have a gigantic menu, but they also display purchaseable, locally-made gifts. (And the staff member was super nice despite being so busy!) PROS: -The sloth theme is A+. We're huge sloth fans, and it was adorable to go into a coffee shop with such a sloth-forward theme. There are sloth plushies everywhere, sloth backpacks hanging from chairs, sloth artwork, and lots of sloth keychains/stickers/plushies you can purchase to take home with you too. -Cute seating options. The place isn't big, but they have a few seating options. They have couches and living-room-esque chairs as well as metal chairs (no arms) with metal tables. With such a small space, I wouldn't feel the most comfortable hogging a table to work with people milling all around me, but it was definitely nice to see so many families/groups using them for chatting. -Dedicated parking lot. You won't have to worry about walking into a mall; there are tons of parking spaces right outside the front door of Hug a' Mug in its strip mall. -The menu is GIGANTIC and printed on an entire wall. This makes it so much easier to figure out what you want to drink when standing in a long line; you aren't trying to squint awkwardly around another person. -While you wait for your drink, all of the walls are filled with locally-made items you can buy. Some of their preserved butterfly art is downright gorgeous (and the barista said they made them!). Lots of other items like jewelry, crochet poptarts (super cute), keychains, plushies, display animal trinkets, candles, and more. Not only is it nice to look at while you wait for your drink, but it's cool to be able to buy it too. -Creative latte flavors and great-tasting coffee. When there are so many choices of where to get your coffee, it's nice to have one that's cute, local, and delicious. Served lusciously warmed. CONS: -Expect service to take a little bit here. It's definitely run on a small crew, and depending on how busy it is (and how many people come in a group), it might take a bit for the single barista to pop out 6 different lattes. -No online order ahead. Expect to come to Hug a' Mug if you know you have a bit of time to wait for good coffee. read more

Cute little spot! Very friendly & clean. They bathroom was also clean! Lots of little homemade things to buy from. The avocado toast was good and for the price of $8.75 was a lot of food !over it ! The coffee and tea was also yummy! When I'm in the state next time I will definitely visit again. read more

This is a cute spot near North Myrtle Beach serving delicious coffee. I love the ambience and array of options for coffee and light breakfast. We spent about 30 minutes and ordered Cortado, hot chocolate and Hug in a Mug signature coffee. The service was super friendly and the store sells neat artifacts, handmade paintings and keychains. Wonderful place, at first I was kind of nervous that it was like the shops next door. It is not. I ordered the Pina Colada Smoothie and it was wonderful. They have a large menu selection and prepare the drinks surprisingly quick for the size of the menu. The barista was also very kind. I will be returning my next trip to Myrtle Beach. read more

This place is amateur and will soon be out of business. Ordered breakfast sandwiches on sour dough of which the ingredients were sorely insufficient. Charging $8 per sandwich warrants a minimum of 3 to 4 slices of bacon, egg and more than one meager slice of cheese. Also ordered a bagel egg, bacon, cheese which also suffered from meager ingredients and a subpar taste. No seasoning ie. salt and pepper were nonexistent which contributed to its bland blah taste. The offensive warning about getting their couch dirty and threatening to charge to clean or replace said couch is not very welcoming for a restaurant. We wouldn't return to this location. read more

This little coffee shop tucked away in a little plaza was such a hidden gem. There was a big menu with tons of (delicious) drink options. I got a dirty iced chai tea latte with oat milk and a bacon breakfast sandwich (added avocado). Both fantastic. There's a ton of local art on display that can be purchased too. My favorite thing about this coffee shop is their wide selection of sugar free syrups! They can make so many different combos of SF drinks - it is a like a breath of fresh air! I have been to the brick and mortar store and the coffee/food truck both. The store is located in the corner of a small strip of businesses - don't let the outside deter you - the coffee is worth it! read more

My wife and I have been looking for a good coffee shop since we moved here over a year ago. We tried hug a mug today and the coffee is amazing. My wife got cappuccino and she said it was really good as well , and believe me she is hard to please!!. We will definitely be back.
