The restaurant prides itself on using 100% fresh and certified Kosher meat, prepared daily. Their menu features Middle Eastern favorites, including their renowned juicy burgers. It operates under the supervision of Dallas Kosher, with a full-time Mashgiach on site. I ordered their "Messy Burger," seasoned and "grilled to perfection," topped with Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Sauteed Onions, Mushrooms and Peppers, and finished off with Grilled Brisket Pastrami. It WAS "messy" AND delicious. Another piece or two of pastrami would have been awesome. On this Sunday morning, my wife was in the mood for Shakshuka which Mile and Honey describes as "Shakshouka - Egg scrambled with Moroccan tomato salad (Matbucha), served in pita with Israeli Salad. Plated option can be poached." She'd become very fond of this traditional North African dish of eggs poached in spiced sauces at Tatte in Washington, DC when we lived there for 2 months. M and H's sauce was a bit heavier than what she was expecting but tasty. The eggs, unfortunately, were overcooked and she was unable to blend the yolks with the tomato base the way she prefers the dish. So, in her opinion, it tasted "more eggy that delicately seasoned" the way she likes. I will not be going here ever again. The last time I went in, I tried to order Shakshouka. They told me that they would not be offering anything made with eggs until the egg prices went down. I found that fairly hypocritical because in the last several years that I've gone into this place, despite having amazing food, you would have to deal with them blasting Fox News on the TV, and the vaguely neocon conversations you hear from customers of the restaurant. I said something about the hypocrisy of them to complain about the prices of eggs while they clearly had certain political preferences, and was yelled at. I have been a loyal customer for many years, but because of recent happenings, I will not be going back ever again. I have been meaning to try this place for several years. It is near me, but I generally head to other restaurants when craving a shawarma. Today, I happened to be at the post office next door and Milk & Honey happened to be open. Yay! Unfortunately, because it is Friday, they don't serve shawarmas. Apparently you can get them any other day, but not Friday. It's a Kosher, Jewish grocery and deli, so I am assuming this is due to some religious edict. I didn't ask. I'll just have to return to try it another day. Even though the Friday special was falafel in a pita for $5.99, I didn't order it. They have a poster that says this is the national snack of Jerusalem. I probably should have, but I decided to go for something I don't think I have had before. I ordered the Shakshoukah plate to go. They make it fresh, so it took awhile for them to prepare it. While they did, I walked around their small grocery aisles with imported items like olives, spices, olive oil and candies. The packaging was written in Hebrew. They were out of their freshly baked pita bread. It sells out early in the day, but they had some frozen pita bread which I gladly purchased. Their deli counter is very small. The old man said, "There are slim pickings on Friday." I guess everyone does their shopping early in the week. I ordered a half pound of oven roasted turkey which the old man sliced, weighed and packaged for me. I paid for the bread, turkey and my Shakshoukah plate with cash. They take credit cards too, but it looked like they pass the credit card fee on to the customer. Once home, I was surprised to find so much food! This plate could have definitely fed several people. The Shakshoukah is an interesting cooked egg dish smothered in a type of chunky marinara sauce. It was delicious. Initially I ate it with a fork, but noticed the oita bread and decided to pile some into half a slice. It was great either way. The side salad had lots of cucumbers and tomatoes in addition to the shredded lettuce. There was also a bag of unsalted crinkle fries. What a wonderful change of pace. It was really nice having this home cooked meal without a bunch of added salt. I was very satisfied and ready for a nap after this filling meal. read more

I noticed this place when I came to pick up fish & chips from Fish & Fizz and started doing my research and the food looked pretty good. So next time I was heading to Fish & Fizz - we decided to get this as well, which ended up being a total overkill and absolute food coma resulting in a Bond movie marathon and deep regret the next day. Putting that aside, we ordered a half plate of the Spicy Falafel, whole order of the Pargiot and a side of French Fries. Spicy Falafel - Half Order ($4.99) - It was delicious and cooked perfectly, texture was just right, crispy and tasty. It wasn't dry, it was tender and well spiced. Spicy Pargiot ($11.99) - Tasty, boneless grilled chicken served in a pita. The sauce was yum too. French Fries ($2.49) - Fries were good - no seasoning but still yum. Quantity - Good quantity. The half order was enough for me but a whole serving should be good for most. Both items come with fries. Taste - Delicious! Most dishes can be made spicy - it's not hot spicy but still has a good kick. The flavour of both was awesome and the ingredients are super fresh. Since my office just moved to this area (Promenade Tower), I've been exploring restaurant options. I stumbled upon this one ... from the outside it doesn't even look like they're open. It was hopping at lunch time! As a result, it took FOREVER for my hot dog (Israeli style - cut up and in a pita with hummus and salad) to be prepared. I'm going to be a repeat customer here. Why? Well, gosh - their food is pretty darn good. With all the Middle Easterners in Richardson, I've tried several shawarma and pita wraps, but this Israeli establishment's pargiot sandwich knocked it off the ballpark with its robust and fresh flavors. I only had the half order for $5.99 and was full as it was accompanied with fries, but because I really loved it, I may just order a full pargiot sandwich next time. The fries are nothing special, but they're made fresh. What is a pargiot? To be honest, I had to look it up - it just means boneless chicken thighs in Hebrew. Yeah, doesn't sound as exotic as I thought it would be. And so this sandwich consists of seasoned boneless chicken thighs grilled and served in a pita pocket with hummus, tahini, salad, pickle and sauerkraut. Doesn't sound complicated to me - which baffles me as to why other places can't do their pitas better. I plan to come back also to try the Egyptian/Morrocan/North African shakshouka that's also popular in Israel - a common breakfast dish consisting of eggs in tomato stew. They also have hummus and kafta kabobs, among other things. Largely a Kosher/Jewish/Israeli market, but the "cafeteria" inside is a great find. read more

This is a kosher grocery store/ restaurant. I ordered some food to pick up. 3 burgers and a grilled chicken dish. Over the phone they were very nice however they didnt ask me if I wanted rice or fries as a side but they assumed that I wanted fries. I didnt even ask for a side honestly I just wanted the entree. I specifically told them to keep the buns and pita separate from the meat so it doesnt get soggy unfortunately they didn't do that. Also before my food was done, I went to pick it up and told them I wanted to a side of rice and I was told sorry. They already made fries (which I didnt ask for) so you I couldn't get it. The approach and tone did not exemplify good customer service and I was going to pay for rice and I'm not sure why I was denied rice. Overall it's a nice kosher shop. OMG! I am on cloud 9! After being in the states for 22 years, what I miss the most are my kosher food and snacks from Israel. I am so happy I finally found a small cozy little Kosher shop with a touch of Israel in Richardson! I ordered the falafel pita spicy and the grilled chicken pita spicy with everything in it! It is by far the best falafel I've had in the states! It tasted like the ones I had in Israel! I wanted to order the Israeli Kabob but they were out! I also wanted the shwarma, but they don't make it on Sunday. =( As we were waiting for our takeouts, I was browsing through their mini market. OMG, I found some of my childhood snacks from Israel! For instances, the mint soda, chips, cookies, and crackers! I thought I'll never see it ever again! nom nom nom I will defineily come back again and again and again and again again again. I love this place. The falafel here is very distinctive- seasoned in a way that sets it apart from It's Greek and Arab counterparts. It comes served with generous portions of fries, salad, pita, pickles, and sauerkraut too; you really get your money's worth. If you want a filling lunch look no further. The grocery shop also has a great selection of Israeli products you won't find elsewhere. Proceed with caution though: the chocolates are so good they're addictive! The atmosphere is simple and cafeteria like, but pleasant and very clean. You'll never see plates piled up for an extended period of time here. This is a weak four, because the flavors here are not that robust but the execution of the entire meal was excellent. I had a whole pita (half falafel/half pargiot) that came with fries. as I waited, I checked out what they had to offer in their market. Lots of imported candies and sweets. My meal arrived within 10 minutes and I digged in. The falafel was not super crispy, but this actually was good in a sandwich environment. Everything seemed to blend well together flavor and especially texture wise. The real treat was the tahini sauce they give you in squirt bottles! The pargiot was good, but the chicken seemed like regular old chicken. The fries took me by surpirse. They were simple, mass produced fries that they fried just right. They were hot, crispy, and had a good mixture of oil and potato flavor.the pita bread itself was soft, warm, and had a nice chew to it. Id be very curious to try their shawarma. It may be hard though, since they dont serve it on Friday or Saturday. I was able to come here on a Monday because I had the day off. Their sandwiches didint look bad either. Updated: 08/09/2017 Stopped in with some friends for lunch. Ordered the falafel and pita plated. The place is a little bit sandwich shop/divey. There is a market that sells grocery items and kosher goods in the back. Nothing fancy here. Just the basics. You walk up to the deli counter and place your order. Very unceremonious and efficient. When it's done they will either call you up or bring it to the table. Everything came out properly and looked marvelous. Taste was excellent and ingredients were fresh. My only regret is that I did not take a picture to post. It was too yummy and got eaten too fast! We all loved the fries. The falafel was excellent. I have been told by many that their shawarma is also very good. I do know but it looks great. I may have had it in the past but have slept since then. Anyway, this is a perfect little place for two or three people to have a intimate lunch meeting or chat. If you support Dallas KOSHER milk and honey should certainly be on your short list. read more

I really enjoy this place, I also have only had the Falafels, but they are great every time! I enjoy the spicy ones but the regular is good too. Consistently delicious every time! Also the little market is fun to look through while waiting for your food. I don't keep kosher but I do know they do. So don't expect a pita on Passover, but that's just one week a year. read more

Wow this place it AWESOME! Shout out to the yelpers who came before and shined some light on this diamond! I had no idea Kosher food (a genre I am very very unfamiliar with) could be so tasty! This place is just incredible, but I would definitely recommend eating it there rather than togo, everything they make is significantly better when it's hot and fresh. Food: The lady and I started with a hummus plate, a very simple plate of hummus with 5-6 falafel balls and a sizeable basket of pita triangles. This alone tipped me off as to how good this place was. They put a little bit of extra tahini right in the middle of the pile of creamy hummus, soooo good. Their pita bread is fantastic too, very fluffy and the perfect balance of tough (as in it doesn't fall apart from the weigh of falafel) and soft. The falafel is out of this world too! At first you may look at one as say "Hmm, looks pretty burned", but once you take a bite you'll see you are quite mistaken. Crispy on the outside, mushy and perfect on the inside. This plate could easily be an entree on it's own. Their selection of pita sandwiches revolves around a meat that resides in a pita with the following cohorts: pickle, sauerkraut, israeli salad, hummus and tahini. I don't know if sauerkraut is common in Israeli cooking, as I'm only familiar with it in German food, but great call!! In the few times we've gone, we've had the Shawarma, the Israeli Kabob and the Chicken Schnitzel. My favorite would have to be the Schnitzel. Again, borrowing a page out of the German cookbook was a brilliant move. Like I said, the pita is very strong, so it holds all these ingredients together very well, while maintaining it's excellently soft texture. The Kabob would come in second (basically seasoned ground beef, very good), with the Shawarma being my least favorite. It may not have been a good day for the Shawarma, but I felt as if there were either bones or severely charred bits in mine. Service/Atmosphere: The deli is part of a small grocery store that carries imported Kosher products from Israel. They have pictures of pita breads on the wall that have been colored with Sharpies to look like various characters. It seems like perhaps there is a naming contest that takes place to name the various orphan pitas, very charming. There are also a few pictures and posters of Israel, creating a nice atmosphere. The people are fairly nice as well, not overly outgoing but very pleasant. Price: The highest you'll pay for a pita sandwich is $9.99, with a falafel sandwich running $5.99. These include fries so you could definitely have a pretty big meal with just that. I would suggest getting the hummus plate to split if you are there with someone else or a small group, at $5.99 it's a great bargain, considering an equivalent amount of store bought hummus would run you about the same price. I haven't ever needed to buy anything from the grocery portion of the store, but it seems a little expensive, though I'm sure importing stuff halfway across the globe isn't exactly cheap. Finally an authentic Mediterranean food! After I tried whats use to called "Mediterranean" buffet and restaurants my friend told me about this place. You can taste and fill how they use only fresh ingredients (I tried the Falafel with hummus ,salad, pickles tahini and french fries on the side...) . Another big issue is that they serve only kosher meet which is way more cleaner and healthier then a USDA meet or halal meet. Wow! By far the best falafel sandwich I've had in Dallas. They're HUGE and come with fries for only FIVE BUCKAROONIES. Can you say the BOMBDIGGITY?!?! The hummus plate was also super super good. The market section had a lot of Israeli items that I am not familiar with, so it was fun to look around. Many many things I wanted to take home and try!
