Happy to say this is a great place to get chicken over rice. The interior is clean, with plenty of seating. Staff was friendly. I ordered a combo bowl, appreciated the generous portion. The dressing on top was really good. The only minor gripe was it could've used a little more dressing, some of the rice at the end couldn't get mixed in. Overall a great spot and definitely recommended!

I was looking for a quick spot for lunch and stubbled upon this small hole-in-the-wall. The interior is small and fits maybe 20 people max and the restaurant was 1/2 full when I went inside for lunch. Ordered the regular gyro for dine-in and the food came out quick! I was expecting the gyro to be wrapped up to easily eat, but if you dine in they serve it like an open face taco. The toppings were basic, but the flavor of their gyro meat was good! Recommend for a casual, quick and affordable spot.

Add another 5-Star review for this place, I will go as far as saying it was the best Gyro I have had in Dallas, hands down. I drove by this place on a Sunday afternoon and had not had lunch yet so I decided to give them a try. I was greeted immediately and throughout my time here the service was great. The place was meticulously clean and they had a football game playing on the television so I decided to relax in the ambiance and enjoy the final quarter of the Green Bay/Chicago game. My Gyro was amazing! Delicious and cooked crispy, just how I ordered it. Being on a diet I had decided prior I would eat only half and finish the remainder at dinner time, but it was SO good I ate the whole thing right then and there!

Wow!! You have to try the Smash Pita!!! A gyro is always my go-to but on a whim, tried the Smash Pita. That first bite of flavor explosion!! My eyes saw the little pickle slices but my brain did not compute the flavor combo until my first bite. AMAZING!!!!!! No clue what spice seasoned the meat with but that is just part of the yummy equation. Better than any hamburger I have ever had!! Hands down-this is one of the best food items I have had in Dallas. Do your taste buds and belly a favor. Order the Smash Pita!!!

Do yourself a favor and get the feta fries. Man. I live down the street from this place and the first time I stopped was kind of by luck. I got the gyro spicy wrap and feta fries and went to mouth heaven. I could easily split the wrap and regular order of fries with someone and both of us would be full and not broke. Prices are totally fair for portions, and the quality has been consistent every time I've eaten there. I hope it never closes down. read more

I ate here for the first time this week. I regret not knowing about this restaurant sooner! We loved everything we had. The chicken bowl was fresh and delicious! The sauce is off the charts. My friend got the chicken pita. She said the pita was the best she had had. We got the feta fries which were crispy, hot, and delicious! The staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean. I've been thinking about that chicken bowl for days. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. read more

I tried this place yesterday and thought it was amazing! I decided to buy 2 of my colleagues at Medical City a late lunch before our meeting because i know they would've liked the food... the only problem was that the energy from the cashier and one of the guys by the grill on my second visit was less than valued. The lady that took my order had such a not so pleasant attitude and when she spoke it was extremely low and the way she stared at me made me feel a way. As i waited for my food to be prepared the talking in spanish at the grill began...i stayed quiet and listened as the lady dug into a box on the counter next to the register giving me "looks". I promise, I have never seen this lady in my life so i didn't understand why she was so weird towards me. Before leaving, i told the cook thank you... he smiled, and they started speaking Spanish again and i turned my back to face them as i was walking out and one of the guys smiled a weird smile at me, really weird....i walked out got in my car and they all started laughing. The most disrespectful experience that i have ever encountered before. I will not be back that was unacceptable! P.S. I am a Dominicana maybe they thought I was not.. and didn't understand them... I wish I took pictures of my food cuz it was sooo goood. Definitely come here if you're in the area. The only downside is it's so far from me! I would come here more if it was closer. There's parking, but it's a pretty small and tight plaza. Most people order take out, but there are a few tables here and there, plus a tv. They also only have bottled water so it may be good to bring your own water. Overall, definitely definitely recommend!!! You won't regret it. read more

Tried Gyro Rice and Spice for lunch on Saturday and it was delicious. I got the spicy chicken wrap and it was 4.3/5. It was really good, the bread was just a little tough, but the flavor was 100% there. I also got a side of fries and it was so good, perfectly seasoned, and hot. The serving size was HUGE so I had enough for another meal. Service was quick, place was nice, clean, and quaint. I will be back! read more

Ordered a gyro with an extra pita ,mentioning that I just could no longer eat it all at once. Well, not only has the gyro's qlty has gone down, not a single onion , but that's not the worse. The extra pita so I could form a 2nd sandwich came in "CUT" pieces...USELESS. Not only were my plans of splitting the gyro cancelled, but I wasted an extra $1.50 on the bread. IF AN ITEM HAS A "CHOICE" ask the customer..WHOLE or CUT. You assumed which never works....a sign of lazyness. I wasted my money, you lost a customer. I will return to Flaming Chesse whch is actually closer to me. read more

Had to review again cuz this place is so darn good. The pitas are soft and fresh...they are very generous with the meat on the gyro, the lettuce is crispy, the onions are fresh and thinly sliced instead of big chunks. They put plenty of tzatziki on it, but I always get more because it's so good. The hummus is delicious as well. They have great french fries (I think they do a double fry). awesome place to have some gyro with decent prices too Gyro Rice and Spice is in a store complex/strip area on Forest lane in the Dallas area. It has good amount of parking in the complex area. Inside, there's some seating for 2-3 smaller groups and counter seats. First off, they're super helpful and nice. Second, the menu has some really good options. We got the gyro wrap, gyro bowl, smash pita wrap, the spicy gyro fries, and the banaoffee cheesecake. We loved everything, but I'd say the top favorites were the gyro wrap and the gyro bowl. Gyro was juicy, the yellow rice was fluffy, and the sauces were a compliment to the food. The smash pita wrap was also good; it's like a burger in a pita instead of a bun. The spicy fries were delicious! It's a very large portion, and the juicy meat went well with the spicy jalapeños. The cheesecake was also super creamy! Overall, I'd definitely go back here! read more

I went for the first time yesterday. I asked the staff for recommendations. They pointed to the pictures of items on their cash wrap area. I chose the chicken gyro bowl. It had a lot of rice, lettuce and very little chicken pieces.. for nearly 17.00(included a 10% tip)it was not good. Not even pita cane with this which little Greek and other competitors do. Brought it back to eat at the office and it is a one and done!!!! Will not go back and shared that with my coworkers that also saw what it looked like. read more

I liked the hearty serving on the veggie omelette - it comes with your choice of a wide variety of sides. I tried the hash browns and they were perfectly crisp and salty. I still left a tip but it was not validated. Ambiance: a lot of older folks and families, it was my friend and I and with a toddler. Overall: maybe another location would be better for me, won't stop at this one again.

Yesterday, I went to the park cities location, I typically go to Plano. They discontinued half my salad ingredients!! No more sunflower seeds so I asked what nuts they had I was told pecan or almond. Told her to add pecans but then they were caramelized pecans, not regular, which she did not specify. I got a salad with sesame ginger dressing. The sweetness was so off and ruined my entire salad. Very disappointing. I don't know if these vast changes are across the board with Snappy Salads. I will try the Plano location to make sure but I assure you I will no longer visit this particular location. If the other one is the same, they've lost a longtime customer that comes often. Bring back the old items! The new bowls are better though.

The steak came out rare instead of medium, and while the shrimp was fine, it wasn't memorable. I genuinely did not enjoy the cauliflower at all. To be fair, the rest of my group finished their plates and seemed happy -- so this may just be a personal palate preference. But at a $75 bill for the group, I expected to understand the hype a bit more. It's a warm, inviting concept in a great location, clearly beloved and always busy. I'll start with a positive -- the appetizers were actually quite good. The deviled eggs, dragon…read moreroll, and pigs in a blanket were all tasty, and that's honestly the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else was a struggle from the moment we walked in. We didn't have reservations, but eventually found seats at the bar. Given how busy the place was, we figured the bar would mean faster, more attentive service. We were very wrong. We ordered two beers, a non-alcoholic drink, and three appetizers. The drinks arrived, and the appetizers followed about 10 minutes later -- fine so far. But there were no utensils. We had to ask for them, and we asked for plates as well, which never came. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.
