For the Taro Milk Tea, I recommend 75%+ sugar, and I do not suggest adding fruity toppings which would alter the taste. The Roasted Milk Tea was AIGHT--light roasted tea, I absolutely had BETTER. I was here with a friend to order some boba tea for my wrestling team before our dual meet and I was planning it was going to take 15ish minutes, like your average shop right? But was I wrong! He then informs me that they were out of green tea and he was brewing it. I've been waiting for this long to be informed NOW that they are out of an ingredient. If you are going to have me wait this long for me to be 30 minutes LATE to watch my wrestling teammates wrestle, at least have some board games out to kill the time. This is a review of their Yo-Kai Express Ramen vending machine. We came here on a Friday night because we wanted to try their Yo-Kai ramen machine. I read it online and thought it would be interesting to try it out. It is like the advertisement, it took 45 seconds to make. You make your selection on the machine and type your name, and then pay with CC (which go through PayPal). It comes in a semi-sealed bio-degradable container (there is a hole in the seal to let the heat out). Pretty straightforward. My only two complaints are 1) I have to type in my name and phone # for every order, and even when you are done, there is a timer before the "Next" button appears, so if it is your first time ordering, you will stand there dumbfounded and wonder what to do next. 2) It says take your utensil, but I don't see any popping out from the machine (It didn't bug us, since we took it home) The ramen is much better than I expected, the presentation is good and the taste although isn't as good a store served, but it is good for the price (about $13 including tax). I came here for the first time this evening. I got the matcha milk tea with 'blue heart jellies' as my topping. Turns out they're actually stars, not hearts, but that's whatever. It tasted good but the texture of the jellies was a bit firmer than I was expecting. I also liked the vibe of the store. Love coming here, it does get packed with teens due to it being close to the high school. I have never had trouble finding parking. Staff was super patient and friendly even during hectic hours. Me and my friend came here because it is one of the few places open late at night. They got both of our drink orders wrong and the person at the register could barely hear us. I'm not sure if the music was too loud or if it was because of the speaker we had to speak through. I ordered a mango milk tea and got a mango green tea. My first time at this location (but I've been to the Pleasant Hill and South SF locations). The interior is very clean, I like how the design/layout is. There is also a Yo-Kai ramen machine in the store which is pretty cool. Besides the ramen, there are plenty of other snack options also. The owner, KM is very friendly and super sweet! Honestly, the milk tea pot or the boba hot pot (which is what I refer it as) was the reason why I came down here and I was not disappointed! For about $16 you can make your own milk tea/boba. First you choose your tea base (black, jasmine, or oolong tea), then you choose 3 toppings, and then you may choose either 3 or 6 flavors (which is optional). The boba hot pot also included milk and sugar/sweetness. It comes with an instruction sheet on the steps/how to cook it and the staff goes over it with you also. It serves up to 3 people and I recommend for all boba lovers to try it at least once, it's a fun and an interesting concept/experience! read more

It's such a hip and fun boba joint that has music blasting in the background with an abundant supply of board games. It also has this really cool ramen machine that makes you fresh ramen (which I didn't try, but thought was cool). It also says on the recommendations side that "Each order tea can be refill one time only, toppings can be refill for unlimited time". That was a LIE! So, we finished our tea and toppings and when we asked for our refill, the worker said that we can only get a refill on tea if we were a party of 5 or more people, even though it says on the menu that the milk tea pot was for up to ONLY 3 people... AND they also said that the same thing applies for the tea refill. I just thought that that did not make any sense because that rule is not stated ANYWHERE on the menus or anything. Again, the idea is really cute, but the service is slow. The hot pot service is advertised for $15.99 + tax, but after three toppings and flavors you have to pay an additional $3.99. Meh... The boba is served with tiny, minuscule, shot cups. You literally gotta work for your boba! I'd rather save an hour of my time and order a milk tea that is prepared and served in under 5 minutes. We ordered lychee, honeydew and peach flavors with crystal boba, regular boba, and egg pudding. Peach was the most flavorful. It's a good size shop, but there's not enough seating and the color scheme feels outdated. One positive, the hand dryer in the restroom is powerful! And one last pointer, they offer snacks like fried calamari, tempura shrimp, tatter tots and the like that you'd find at other boba shops. Mixed Feelings about the boba hot pot. The good part: the flavors are good. It is nice to be able to control the exact topping amount in your tea. The popcorn chicken is good too. The bad: The tea cups they provide with the hot pot set are half the size of normal tea cups (see photo) so it becomes very tedious to have to refill your cup with tea and toppings after every single sip. The topping to tea ratio is way off. They give you 4x of tea as toppings so you quickly run out of toppings before finishing the tea. They charge you $2.50 per person over the 3 person limit for each hot pot. This makes no sense because you aren't getting more tea/toppings with that extra charge. ^ because of these bad things, this experience basically ends up being a really tedious way to drink a cup of milk tea with 3 toppings. read more

The place is like a regular milk tea spot but the hot pot part is the most unique and make this place one of a kind. My rating for the milk tea hot pot drink itself was above average because the milk and tea was not that sweet but it was a really cool experience.
