    Cookie Butter Blue
    Maddi R.

Had disappointing dessert at Milkcraft today. The establishment had a unique and hip look to it. It's small with one long bar seating, and a few outdoor seats by a fire pit. That said, I wish there were more seating to fully take your time to enjoy the dessert. Ambiance rate 8/10. A few negatives right off the bat were they were out of their 2 popular flavors that they were advertising in their restaurant which were Pb & J Roasted Banana and Cookie Butter Blue. Luckily, my one friend was able to get the last Cookie Butter Blue. In addition, I ordered a milkshake and they tell me "they're out of milk." How can a restaurant called "MILKcraft" that sells ice cream be out of milk? Plus, the staff seemed irritated to do their job. The service was relatively quick though. Staff/service rate: 5/10. My friends and I ordered... 1. Cookie Butter Blue: This had a nice sweet flavor however, it lacked real cookie butter flavor. It almost tasted like vanilla and chocolate combined. Rate 7/10. 2. Milk & Cereal: This flavor also lacked a cereal taste; it just tasted like vanilla. Rate 4/10. 3. Bourbon Breakfast: This flavor was tough to enjoy because it had a very strong unsettling bourbon flavor. Rate 3/10. 4. S'mores Campfire: This had a great smore flavor. Rate 7.5/10. The bubble cones it comes with were slightly crispy and soft at the same time which was good. Overall, I didn't have the best experience here, and wouldn't recommend this place being the lack of options they have, and the mediocre taste of their ice cream.

Very Very Chocolate Cream in a bubble Cone

We lucked out coming at a great time with zero line. The smell of amazing waffles filled the ice cream store when you walk in. The service was fast and polite and the ice cream was superb. The flavors are unexplainable and the texture of all the flavors we tried was super creamy. The bubble cone is a bit pricey but worth the splurge the warm bubbles waffle pairs amazing with the cold ice cream. We tried the cookie butter, milk and cereal and the very very chocolate. All were very good. The outside seating had a fire pit and fun funky chairs making for very fun ambiance. Inside had bar stools to look out onto the fire pit area. They do allow taste testing, parking is ample and credit cards are taken. Four stars for cleanliness- trash cans were overflowing, when sitting at bar inside area you look up and the ceiling, light fixtures and facade is just covered in dust. They no longer use nitrous to craft the ice cream due to a shortage in nitrous ?

After a long drive from Smuggler's Notch Vermont, the fam got the craving for sweets, stopped at milk craft for the 1st. At west Hartford around 2:30, the place wasn't crowded which was great, parked at the meter, cute and cozy ice cream parlor , a selection of flavors that other stores/ franchises will not have. The shakes were smooth and creamy, the salted Caramel sweet and thick and the chocolate was rich . They have a small lounge where you can relax and enjoy your sweets. Definitely it will satisfy your sweet tooth. Service was fast and quick with a friendly smile.

Milkcraft has some really great ice cream, but they really fell short in the area of customer service for me. We came in around 9pm and I thought the place was closed bc there was no staff member in sight. After about 5 minutes of waiting, someone finally came out to greet us. The part that really made me uncomfortable was the inappropriate music that blasted through the speakers. Lots of profanity, which made made several folks uncomfortable. I overheard another couple complaining about the loud music too. The music was so loud that we ended up leaving shortly after getting our ice cream. This is so bad for business -- so many people were turned off by this, including myself, and I likely won't return to this location. The ice cream itself is actually really good though!

My friend took me to her favorite ice-cream joint and wow I loved it. The bubble waffle cone def one of the most delicious things. Would absolutely recommend this place. There is always a line but it goes by fast. Don't hesitate absolutely try this place.

2 scoops in a cup. The bottom flavor melted quickly- the top one did not. Not sure why

My daughter has been wanting me to update my review and give them another star because in my first review of Milkcraft I said my ice cream MELTED on a hot summer day! Oh no! (But it did melt crazy fast- I had the Mexican chocolate churro ice cream in a soft, warm, freshly made cone.... Didn't help with the melting fast issue.) This time I ordered it in a cup so it wouldn't be such a mess. She loves the S'mores ice cream in a bubble cone. They make it all on site in front of you with liquid nitrogen and it's kind of cool to watch even if it's a little slow. Definitely try it- it's really good ice cream.

Can't believe I only had Milkcraft once my entire time living in Fairfield! We ordered the smores ice cream in a cup because we were so full after dinner but next time I need to try the bubble cone here.

The magic of how they make it

Every time we are in town we go with our relatives to Milkcraft. This place is always packed with people and for good reason. The ice cream is made fresh Infront of you with liquid nitrogen and they have lots of amazing flavors to choose from. The bubble waffle cone it is served in is a treat in itself and you can even just order a cone by itself if you like. My favorite flavor is the adult breakfast cereal.

Nothing "artisanal" here. You could save money and go to Baskin Robbins and not miss anything.

Nice looking restaurant. Greeted by our waitress who was wonderful all night. We got the crispy shrimp appetizer which everyone loved. I had the Thai port gra pow and it was delicious! They raved about this sea urchin? dish with Calabrian chilies and to make sure Chef Dan Snyder was working when we went. Not sure if he was working last night, but I'm sure he was if he's head chef. We were very intrigued and made a reservation shortly after and upon pulling in to the parking lot, realize we had already been here! Too funny. Our first trip we had the dumplings and they were good from what I remember. I believe I did not review the restaurant since we only had appetizers. Moving on to this second excursion, it was a nice time. Friendly and attentive staff. We started with the gorgonzola salad, and I had the Branzino and boyfriend had the Chicken Scarpiello. Everything was delicious. Branzino was over couscous. Two pieces of fish. Definitely filling. Chicken Scarpiello amazing flavor profile. You aren't getting romantic ambiance which I like to go for on Saturday nights and it can be quite loud during busy time (6:45) so just note that. It's nice that it's in a plaza with a cool place next door to grab a drink after (Sophie's). Honestly the bar inside looked nice here too. Walked by it when I went to use the restroom. It's sort of tucked away in the back. Worth checking out.
