The pistachio bonbon and the black sesame chocolate bar I tasted were just AMAZING. The chocolate bar was very impressive as it wasn't just a 'hint' of black sesame, but full of rich black sesame creme.. which melted my mouth... Live 40 miles away but will come often to get more. Do not waste your money here!!! Very rude staff. Ice cold Champagne Bonbons (definitely not fresh) Hot chocolate with stains on the cup??? not to believe. Orange chocolate all broken when I opened it. They must have known , It was all crumbled and they for sure felt it before putting it in the bag. There are only a few establishments that truly impress me these days. However, Milla Chocolates is one of those that I would give 10 stars if I could. I dropped by today to pick up a gift for an overseas trip. Both of the employees who helped me went above and beyond to assist me and I left with a great impression. The manner of care that was taken to put together and wrap my gift was out of this world. Their chocolates are not only beautiful but absolutely divine for someone who has a sophisticated palate and can appreciate fine handmade chocolate. I picked up the Valentine special chocolate cake and it was not a mistake! So delicious and decadent in all the best ways, from the whole hazelnuts to the bits of gold flake decoration. I am in love with this chocolate boutique!! I came here for my birthday treat!! And it certainly did not disappoint me. The boutique is a very pretty with a simple modern designed inside. But more importantly, the star are the chocolate bon bons . And wow.... they are outstanding!! Torrone and the Black Sesame Caramels are delicious too. Doug will answer all your questions with a clear pride in the product, and Erkan is a craftsman of coffee (don't rush him!). yes, the chocolate is front-and-center, but the coffee is roasted to perfection and is smooth and robust. oh black sesame how i love you...and you are clearly loved here! so now you already know i'm going to swoonily recommend the iced hot chocolate black sesame drink and the black sesame caramel chocolate...excuse me...SWOON! seriously just thinking about that black sesame drink is making my mouth all happy. for the all-around experience of quality, care, service, and memorable tastes, Milla's prices are absolutely fair -- between $5-7 for the coffee drinks, and $3 a piece for the chocolates (but trust me, you will be given free samples galore). this little oasis of chocolate and coffee goodness is tucked between the BBQ store and the Cerveteca taco stand. parking is on the street, or you can easily access the city garage around the corner. read more

I've been watching Epicurious' Price Point. In one of the episodes, it features a chocolate expert. Another episode has a coffee expert. These episodes are available on Youtube as of writing and they are fabulous to watch because the experts really know what they are talking about, which is - ultimately, you get what you pay for! (The condiments expert did relay how the taste of condiments can be nostalgic so if something you love is cheaper in price - by all means, get it, but be aware of what they put inside to make it cheaper. The ice cream expert said something similar too. Makes sense.) My daughter and I walked into Milla Chocolates. I had scoped it out earlier as we were walking by on our way to The Museum of Jurassic Technology, which is across the street. I liked the design of the shop - it's simple, sleek, with dark coloring and of course, the chocolate looks beautiful and completely indulgent. Once we left the museum, I asked my daughter if she wanted to go inside to get a piece of chocolate each. That was our plan. We walk inside and there is a man giving out samples to everyone but us. I thought - that's fine, we'll just each get a piece of chocolate and call it a day. As we're looking over the chocolates on display, another man asks us if we would like to try any samples. This is how he got us! He had four samples and he let us try all four. They were delicious, distinct, creamy, and flavorful. My daughter does not like dark chocolate - but she loved these. When we tried the hazelnut bar and we remarked that we liked it, he said - well, it's award winning. Alas, we succumbed to buying more than two pieces of chocolates. These are well worth it. I will treasure them. I may even give a few to my husband, if he finds them behind the shelf in the kitchen. We found two parking lots on a side street off of Venice - they give one hour free parking and then $1.00 for each 30 minutes afterwards. There is meter parking nearby as well as street parking - always read the tricky signs! read more

Got these as a gift for my mom, she said they were the best chocolates she's ever had!

The chocolates arrive in one day which is amazing especially during a pandemic, however, I was not impressed with the Mesquite Pistachio Dragees or the Tahini Almond Praline bar we ordered. The Almond in the Tahini bar was not organic. I could not tell this until I received the bar. The main problem was the taste. It did not taste like almonds but it did taste like peanut butter and there was so little praline in the bar it tasted nonexistent. It was a disappointment. The Pistachio's were very mild and just not what I expected. I really wanted to like these chocolates since we are searching for a good organic source/single source chocolate bars. There is a decided creaminess to the bar which would appeal to some. The chocolate was interesting. Stars given for the processing of the order. This company can really get their chocolate to their customers. read more

The chocolate is handmade in the back and it is decadent, naturally flavored, and abolsutely delicious. The flavors are unique yet classic and the owner is very welcoming and knowledgable. My personal favorite is the Hazeulnut bar, with or without Turkish coffee. They also serve coffee! It's really great and baristas are amazing. We have noticed this place for sometime and we're excited to see it was finally open. The male barista and the woman who came out from the back to provide chocolate samples of the hazelnut praline bar were both very nice. We had two cappuccinos (very good) and ordered the smoky scotch and the black sesame caramel bon bons. Our intention was to have a little day date while our kids were in school and when they asked us 'for here or to go' we answered to go but quickly looked around to notice there is not a seat anywhere. There was one bench out front but it was cold and windy so we sat there and swallowed down our treats as quickly as possible. The black sesame was not so tasty but made from quality ingredients. We brought home a hazelnut praline bar which was PRICEY but delicious. We would probably return IF they offered any kind of seating but without it- I don't see how to stand and drink a cappuccino and indulge in expensive chocolates with nowhere to place down my plate. A nice place to buy a gift but not a place to hang out. read more

I'm definitely conflicted, the chocolate is amazing, the service...not so much. I'm not petty enough to give less than five stars, but I was very disappointed in the person that assisted us, he was lukewarm at best. It was our first time and we were very excited about coming to the shop, we didn't just stumble upon it, it was our destination, we fought LA traffic from West Hollywood just to try this place. It's not as if I can say that anything was done wrong, there was just no warmth or excitement...if I worked around chocolate all day I'd be stoked, I'd want to share all the history with anyone that would listen! I even expressed that we had been excited to try the store, and that didn't even evoke any type of interest. I work in hospitality, trust me, I know sometimes you don't want to engage with people, but the lack of enthusiasm we were met with was disheartening.
