I ordered 4 cookies from Zooies via Uber Eats. I got the chewie chocolate chip cookie, marzipan crunch and gluten-free blueberry citrus cookie. The blueberry one absolutely stole the show - it was perfectly soft, sweet with the white chocolate chips and the fruitiness gave it the perfect balance. The chocolate chip cookie was perfectly soft in the center but also somewhat buttery/crispy on the edges, and you get that automatic "mmm" feeling when you get the perfect bite. The marzipan crunch cookie was wonderful as well. The best part of the marzipan cookie is not the edges, but rather the center. I think if they filled it with marzipan they could make it a little more interesting (I admit to being slightly disappointed when I realized that there is no marzipan filling in the cookie, rather it's just a marzipan flavored cookie). Still amazing though and will definitely order all of these again. Overall I think Zooies has the best cookies I've ever tried in LA. I was so obsessed with my experience at Zooies that I looked them up on TikTok to see what others were saying. I am not surprised that others say that this place has the best cookies in LA and I'm not surprised at how highly rated it is, but when I found out that this bakery was located in a gas station, I was a little turned off. A finally had a chance to stop at this oasis in Castle Heights and try out their massive array of cookies. I think i counted 50 with some coming in the shape of brownies. While i really wanted one, I was there for just the cookies. Its inside of gas station and surrounded by residences of Castle Heights and Cheviot Hills. Once you come into the doors, its all on your right hand side where you'll see a small plate with samples of some cookies. I took an eyeball guess and tried thier chocolate chip which i chose to be one of the four i selected. The brown butter chocolate chip was pretty damn good and perfectly chewy. The birthday cookie was bomb as well, with the same consistency. I had to definitely walk out with the salted caramel cookie, with caramel centered perfectly in the middle and beyond. The last one was a strawberry cheesecake cookie for my wife, which she said it was very good and would have it again at a moment's notice. I never would have guessed that some of the best cookies that I've had in LA are in a small gas station in the Palms district. I'm not a fan of Crumbl at all and thankfully these cookies are nothing like that. They are soft but not cakey soft and are packed with flavor. They have at least 20 different flavor options so it's easy to try something new each visit. Pricing is fair and service was very fast. When we arrived there were 4 people in front of us and 3 behind us so the secret is out on these bomb cookies. Parking can be a little tricky when the gas station is busy, but they do have a at least 6 spots on the north side of the station. Inside looks like what you would expect, a full service gas station but in one corner is Zooies and is run by their own employees. For my first visit I tried the Birthday Cake, Salted Caramel, and the S'mores and loved each of them.
