I absolutely love SkinMD on Newbury! I have had incredible results with the IPL laser treatments,…read morepeels, LHR and filler. I love all of the girls there and always feel so comfortable and welcome. Jordan, Michele, Jenda, Shannon, Emma and Jillian are always so lovely to see and chat with and the work they do is amazing! Also a shout out to Nadia who absolutely does the best filler in Boston!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at SkinMD. I took out CareCredit for Emsculpt Neo…read moretreatments and saw absolutely no results. Despite the claims on the made during the consultation and the before-and-after photos that were shown to me, the treatment did not deliver any measurable change to my body. What frustrates me most is that I do not feel I was given realistic expectations about the possibility of seeing no improvement. Had I been told that results vary significantly and that some patients may not notice any meaningful change, I would have made a different decision before taking on this expense. Additionally, when I told them I was unhappy with the services provided and ask for a refund or compensated services, they refused and instead tried to get me to pay for more treatments! This was a major financial commitment for me and all for a treatment that provided NO benefit. I would not recommend this place to anyone because they will not be honest with you about the results you will see. Do not waste your money- seek providers who are transparent about both the potential benefits and limitations of the treatment.

I used the med spa part of this business. While the service itself is okay, there is no consistency…read morebetween how the procedure is done. Everyone is doing it differently, some charge you for a calming mask, some give it as a compliment to the service. I found it very confusing and frustrating. The worst is their behavior around tipping for med spa services. They blatantly and aggressively tried to get me to tip for those, literally trying to shame into paying it by loudly requesting a tip in front of everyone at the front desk, in addition to a big tablet with a tip suggestion (of 20,25 etc % expectation clearly listed) shoved in my face. This is a shady practice trying to indicate to a patient that this kind of tip is expected on a med spa procedure. Industry norms within healthcare generally favor transparent, all-inclusive pricing rather than gratuity-based compensation. This principle typically applies to services provided within medical spas, regardless of whether a specific treatment is performed by a medical provider or an esthetician. Because the service is offered under the medical spa's clinical umbrella and within a healthcare-related environment, patients reasonably expect the advertised price to reflect the full cost of care. Soliciting tips in this setting can create confusion regarding pricing, blur professional boundaries, and undermine the distinction between healthcare services and traditional hospitality services. The business acknowledges med spa separation from their day spa services. You receive multiple emails, forms to sign, etc. indicating a treatment that is treated as a procedure done under medical setting. It should be left to a patient discretion to provide a token of gratuity if they decide to do so, but in the med spa setting, there should not be expectation of the same tipping practice as for the traditional day spa services. I was very taken aback by these practices. This behavior was not present at other branches, but unfortunately those have been closed or will be closed.

Kourtnii Koontz, the manager, assured me I would have my refund check in the mail months ago. Today she won't even answer my email and when I called the NY office I was told by the manager that she works from home. It may be time to get attorneys involved and report the company to the Better Business Bureau. Meanwhile they opened a new spa in NYC!!

This place has absolutely gone downhill! I started coming to the Fenway location about two years…read moreago and the staff was amazing, welcoming friendly, the clinicians knew what they were doing! I hadn't been in for about a year, just life happened... This new staff is rude. They are not friendly or welcoming at all! The clinicians are more concerned about getting Botox and whatever done on their own face during work hours, then they are concerned about you. My clinician came in and you can tell she just got Botox done while she's working, and then proceeds to tell me all the reasons I can't get my treatments done and I've never had a problem. On top of that, I have to drive two hours to go to that location so I ended up driving two hours getting a hotel to spend the night, and they had no care or concern no empathy or compassion! I would never ever suggest going here at least to this location. Now I have to go search for another location

But after everything I've experienced, I feel it's only fair to share what happened so others can make an informed decision. It started when I received a promotional call about a discount on Thermage for my face and neck. I decided to book, and that's when the problems began. My appointment was cancelled three times, each time last-minute. And each time, no one from LaserAway reached out to reschedule. I had to follow up myself, every single time. When I finally raised my concerns, I was reassured that it wouldn't happen again and was confirmed for May 3rd at 2:30 PM. At 1:13 PM, just 17 minutes before my appointment, I received a text saying they were running 30 minutes behind. I was already on my way. I decided to be flexible, stopped at a café, and arrived at 2:55 PM. I was then told I'd need to wait an additional 45 minutes and wouldn't be seen until 3:45PM at the earliest. What hurt most wasn't the wait, it was how it was handled. There was no apology. No acknowledgment of the repeated history of cancellations. Just: you can wait or reschedule. I broke down in their office. My anxiety got the better of me, and honestly, I'm not ashamed to say it, because no paying customer should be made to feel that way. I requested a refund and ended my relationship with LaserAway. If you're considering booking here, please think carefully. My experience may not be universal, but when something goes wrong, how a business responds tells you everything.

I figured the pain might be worth it-- while the lady was really rough on my skin, I trusted that she knew what she was doing. After the microdermabrasion, my face was red in all different areas. I figured it would heal after some time. Days, weeks have gone by and there has been more scars on my face than prior. I'm really unhappy about the results. I was reluctant about posting photos of my face but I dont even care anymore. The following Friday I left them a voicemail, asking for some helpful advice on what I could do or a potential refund. It's been over 2 weeks and I still haven't heard back. I truly hope there is good reason behind why I was treated in such a manner. (Might be in a different order) 1st photo: Photo of my face while I sat in the waiting room. 2nd photo: Immediately after the session I went to the bathroom. My face had never felt as abused as it did that day. 3rd photo: 2-3 days later. Scars that never existed prior to the session, begin dto appear. My skin felt like it had been scraped against concrete. It no longer felt soft, it was rough and gritty. Today, it's been more than 2 weeks and these scars still remain.
