This is about a year overdue (I took pics but never got the review written). My mom became a recluse as she got older, had failing health, some memory issues, etc. My folks bought the house on Jackson St. in 1970 and had nice variegated hi-low carpeting installed, a mottled cream to rust to dark brown with gold the predominant color. My parents were young without a lot of money so it was a big purchase for them. The last time the carpet was cleaned was sometime in the 80s, I think. My mom had a stroke and I moved back to Long Beach to take care of her. For a few months she was in a nursing home but wanted to come home. The house required a lot of cleaning, painting, etc. The carpet was matted, BLACK (inundated with dirt and generations of pet hair)- I wish I'd taken a picture of it- seemingly worn to the nub. Money was tight, so I decided to have it cleaned, hoping I could put area rugs we had down to cover the middle bits. I called a fellow from one of the chem-dry places who came out and said "This can't be cleaned- it's dusted." (what a jerk he was, rude too, like our dirty carpet was beneath him). Then I called James. I can't write an essay here, but let me just say that oftentimes people are under a lot of stress when moving in or out, or undergoing life changes. In my case my mom was very ill (close to the end, as it turned out), desperate to come home, and I was under a lot of pressure to make it happen (medically, logistically, in every way- you know, getting a hospital bed, wheelchair, etc., battling with Kaiser. My mom had a feeding tube, high care needs... so a lot to juggle and plan). James was SO kind, considerate (his nature), so patient with me. He scheduled the appointment to accommodate me. He helped me move some things out I couldn't manage. He didn't turn his nose up at the state of the carpet. CAN DO all the way. I used to be a commercial property manager and I've had thousands of carpets cleaned, and I've never seen anything like his performance, both personally and professionally. Incredible. He and his equally wonderful assistant worked their tushes off, spent MANY hours getting the carpet clean. I couldn't believe it- the hi-low nap came up again as did the variegated colors (see the pics). Green, no chemical residues, just fresh, clean, fluffy carpet. My mother came home a couple weeks later and cried when she saw it. It meant a WHOLE lot to her. Kindness and conscientiousness seem to be in short supply in today's world, so encountering a person like James helps restore one's faith in people, and helps lighten your load- priceless. An all around professional! Both technically as well as personally. I utilized him when I was moving out of the area. He was on time, professional, and even after the EPIC SNAFU that happened (he couldn't locate the money order I left him WHERE I said I left it). James was calm, courteous, and returned the next day for payment without complaint. The place was virtually empty so essentially I could have been pulling the wool over his eyes, but he certainly never let on that he thought I would be. I called this company to have my carpets cleaned, and I met the owner James Presley very professional while talking he informed me they also clean and polish hardwood floors!!!! The next day James and his employee came right on time and cleaned all my carpets they did a Great job put all my furniture back exactly as it was. The following morning at 8am, they came back and removed furniture from the living room, family room dinning room and entrance, etc., two men only. Quick and reasonably priced! I called James when I was in a time crunch to get my carpets cleaned before movers unloaded all our belongings into our new home. I had a very short time frame and didn't give him much notice but he was able to squeeze us in by coming out at 7am and starting early. Millennium was on time and got right to work. I explained that I had movers coming over in the afternoon so they left two jumbo fans with me all day to help dry the carpets faster. He came by later in the evening to pick them back up.
