I am not a burger person (anymore). Haven't really ate many in the past 10 years other than the occasional fast food contraption when in a bind. Met a friend for an early dinner date on a Thursday. They have burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. It gives you a small town diner feel with a long counter area and a lot of seating. Order at the front and the staff bring you the meal. We ordered the mushroom Swiss burger, fries, onion rings and drinks. Mushroom burger (5/5) - mushroom and Swiss and all burgers come with mayo, mustard, pickles, onions, tomato and lettuce (unless otherwise noted) and that's perfection. The patty was juicy and cooked and overall it was just delicious. The bun also went well, not too soft and not too toasty. And the burger was cooked to order and a good size. Fries (3/5) - they were ok but could have been crunchier and the portion was small Onion rings (4/5) - crunchy and the batter stayed on the onion and did not crumble at first bite There are condiments on the table (ketchup, hot sauce etc) and the drinks are self serve. When you are done be kind and dump the trash in the can by the end of the counter and leave the tray. Tip the staff if you had a good meal. They were nice. A nostalgic, old fashioned Mushroom Swiss with all their fixings is the only way to get it. When I walked in I honestly did not like the way the restaurant smelled but I decided to go ahead and order. The interior gave old roadside vibes.The lady was pleasant at the register though and it was a simple ordering process. The burger was pretty good. Standard home style burger. I was full when I left so no complaints. The burger was pretty big and the onion rings were also good. I had a single bacon cheeseburger with mustard, lettuce, tomato, I think mayo, and I onion. I wish I would have asked for extra mayo or mustard but I just used the ketchup from the table. There are no frills but like I said I was satisfied. Bacon cheeseburger $13 - our preferred burger (cashier recommended this). Bacon was very crispy. Patties are actually flavorful. (I don't like the places where they make it about the toppings.) All I can say about the mushroom Swiss burger is WOW. I'm not sure what they put in the melty cheese, but it was amazing with the perfectly grilled patty and sautéed mushrooms. First of all, the guy at the grill needs to learn food safety before y'all get somebody sick or kill somebody. The guy has no clue on when to change gloves! He was consistently touching raw meat, and everything including building and wrapping the burgers, without changing gloves. I spoke to him the first time nicely as I was sitting at the bar area, that he really needs to change his gloves when touching raw meat and he did the first time. About a week ago...I placed an order over the phone from the parking lot... they said 10-15 mins. I waited 10mins and went to pickup my order 2 burgers, sweet potato fries and onion rings. I had heard good things about this place so of course I had a few expectations. Houston doesn't have a huge amount of great burgers, but this is one of the better ones for sure. When I used to work in the area about 10 years ago this was one of our go to spots for burgers. I remember it being a lot better than it was the other day when I tried it. When I say this is our go to spot, this was like our top three places to get a really delicious hamburger from. I got my normal bacon cheeseburger and it just seem like it was lacking flavor or seasoning. It almost seem like the patties were frozen because they were in a perfect circular pattern. I'm willing to bet they came out of a bag. They really didn't have much seasoning at all. I have to give him the props on the bacon as that was pretty fresh. The cheese was decent. Overall it wasn't that great. I would've been much better off with little bitty burger barn or another one of my local faves. I hate to say it but Miller's has fallen off in my opinion. My first time coming here. Located in a strip mall on N. Shepard. Looks small from the outside but the interior is quite big. Lots of seating available. The serve burgers and sandwiches which range from $9 to $11 dollars. NONE OF THE BURGERS OR SANDWICHES COME WITH FRIES YOU HAVE TO BUY IT SEPARATELY. Which is about $3.50 for a side of fries or onion rings. I ordered the bacon cheese burger which was pretty good. Nothing special about the fries though. The lady who took our order was very nice. I wasn't in the mood for a burger, ordered the chilli cheese fries. And I'm beyond disappointed, the chilli sauce was liquid/thin and they poured a lot over the fries that made them super soggy.
