A Great Surprise! The exterior and interior are standard diner but the food is FANTASTIC! One vegetarian and meat eater here and we both had fantastic options. Our Server was great to point out options. My husband loved the Black and Blue Burger and I so enjoyed the Grilled Cheese. My partner and I were traveling on that side of town to watch an independent film at a local theater and stumbled upon this small town feeling bar for a drink and dinner. While the food was not over the top, it was like any other small town bar food. You know what to expect. What made this so great is the feeling you get when you walk in and the service! First sight walking in are billard tables and the classic dark thick wooden bar with people sitting all around it. Booths just as you'd remember for when you were a kid going to the bar with your parents while they met with all their friends. - nostalgic 100%. Our server was amazing! Although I had never been here before, I was welcomed and felt like a cheers cast member by the time I left. I had the Philly steak which de-lish and packed with ingredients. Was on my way to a show and I noticed this place was right by and we were looking for a place to get a drink and some food. It was sit yourself, so we found a booth. The server approached us right away and ask was friendly. We ordered some beer from the draft which had a decent selection. I ordered the Kanas City Burger. I loved that you could add pretzel bun (for additional fee) because I love burgers on pretzel buns! I ordered it Medium and it came a little Medium well but it wasn't terrible. The fries were fresh and not salted so you could add your own salt, which is nice. Some restaurants over salt/season. Food was good. It looked busy in the parking lot but it wasn't packed and there was plenty of space for dining in. I give this place a 4 out of 5 stars and would recommend if you are in the area. read more

Came with my husband for lunch on a Friday. The parking lot looked full, but there were plenty of tables to choose from and it was seat yourself. It was busy, but had a quiet atmosphere. Decently sized menu- I got the gyro and he got a patty melt. We ordered potato skins but they were out. The food itself was just ok- my husband really liked the rye on the patty melt. But my gyro was nothing special- meat, onion, and pita. Lots of added fees on the menu- limited refills on drinks, $2.50 extra for french fries instead of potato chips, stuff like that. The restaurant was clean but there were flies everywhere, so that was a little off putting. I will say our waitress was attentive and friendly. It was fine to eat here in passing, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

This review is for the greatest patrons in America. As the song goes, I busted flat... in Battle Creek and rolled to a stop next to Miller's Time Out just as it started to rain. Pulled out my spare, my jack, but no wrench! Ran inside the crowded bar to find a wrench. Walked up to the bar and asked if someone had a wrench I could borrow. The kind server calls out to the whole bar "Does anyone have a tire wrench this guy can borrow?" Silence. Crickets. She started asking each person, but got little more than a shake of the head. One person asked in the air, "what kind of car", I yelled "2008 Mazda 5". Everyone was unimpressed. Special shout out to the guy in the orange shirt. The server asked him, he immediately got up started heading my way. As he approached I started "Man, I really appreciate this". His response was "Oh, I'm just going to take a piss.  I think I have a wrench, but....." then I think his thought got stuck in the bong residue of his brain and he trailed off to the bathroom without completing the sentence. Now these folks had all the appearance and showmanship of small town, red-blooded Americans, complete with American flag T-shirt's, ballcaps and Carhartts. But what they had in appearance, they seemed to lack in small town hospitality. Maybe it would have been easier to swallow if I looked like some intimidating stereotype. Although a little dark complected, I'm just a 5'7", gray-haired, married, father of two, middle-aged dude. This was simply apathy. They can't be bothered during happy hour. I get it. What's more important than drinking. So I ordered you guys a bunch of Planters Salt and Vinegar peanuts on Amazon. You should be getting them tomorrow. I hope you enjoy these nuts with your beer. Extra salty, just like me. I think most of them were getting ready to watch the Elite Eight Michigan game. On my way home on the highway I did my best to put the Greek evil eye on the game. Conclusion in case anyone was wondering. The server managed to find a one socket wrench from the back of the house that didn't fit. I returned it and left the bar.  As I was heading back to my car, a sweet dude had noticed my car while driving and stopped to see if I needed help. Drove me to Autozone, helped me fix it, and wanted nothing. I hooked him up the all the cash I had in my wallet, and some new toys that I had in my trunk for my kids. We've eaten here several times. Hubby has always said he didn't care for the food, I've never had any problems because I typically get the fried shrimp or appetizers. Last night, I decided to go with the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. Food came, the smell of the food was very underwhelming, smelled pretty institutional. But hey, I will give it a try. I took a bite and it was indeed institutional tasting food. Which I get, they aren't a restaurant, it's a bar that serves food. I got spoiled by Tujax in Delton, they are a bar, but have an amazing chef. The price was such that I should have known, I would have been pretty angry if I paid more than I did. Hubby got the Salisbury steak which was like two burnt hockey pucks. But, he at them!! He said he did that for me so I wasn't wasting money on food he didn't eat. lol The waitress was adequate. Not friendly, but efficient enough. She never asked how things were and she definitely didn't ask if I wanted a to-go box with my entire dinner sitting in front of me uneaten. She did get us a refill though. I had no intention of not paying for this meal, despite how it tasted, and of course, I left a 20% tip despite our experienc. I ordered it, it was cooked to the best of their ability and it wasn't good. It wasn't fresh. No big deal. But it would have been nice for someone to at least ask. Typically when a patron doesn't eat ANY of their food, there is a problem. So bottom line....If you go in with the mindset of this bar has bar food that may not be the best, you will be fine. Completely and pleasantly surprised with lunch. Typical dive bar place with drop ceilings and grandpa's bar stools with painted cinderblock and paneling. BUT I'm a picky Ruben sandwich lover and they actually hit the mark. HOT and made with non-fatty corned beef. Slightly greasy bread, but overall very good. Terrible visit. My 2/3 pound burger had no flavor. Make sure there is salt, pepper and ketchup on the table to give your burger some taste. The fries were larger then normal and tasted ok. After sitting down, we waited for quite some time for a waitress. After taking our drink order, we waited for a diet Coke and a hot tea. After she dropped the drinks off, we had to wait while she bussed tables before we could place our order. Hubby ordered a burger, and I ordered the fish basket. We definitely waited longer than the "industry standard 15-min. ticket time". The burger was floating in condiments! There was so much mayo, ketchup, and mustard on the bun that my husband had to scrape 1/2 of it off. The waitress asked how he would like the burger prepared. Medium with a little pink inside. Apparently the cooks can only cook well done! Ironically, the fish had scales still on it and the breading on the underside was soggy and fell off. When she delivered the food, I asked if I could have more lemon and tartar sauce. She originally brought one lemon wedge and one small condiment cup of tartar sauce with 5 pieces of fish. When she came back, she brought a 1/2 a lemon and 4 containers of sauce so she wouldn't have to come back again, and she didn't! She never stopped to ask how everything was. Well, the burger was greasy! That was the only taste to the meat. My husband told her to take it off the bill when she did come back. She would have had to have asked her manager to take it off, but the manager didn't come out and apologize either. She never asked if we needed drink refills, either. One gentleman in a booth chased her down twice to get a drink and to get their bill! Oh, did I mention the juke box has enough bass that the building vibrates, and the parking lot looks like it's been hit by landmines! Spend some money training, repaving, and remodeling!! Called in a simple curbside order at 1624. Was told it would be ready in 15. I arrived at 1639 and called to let them know I was outside waiting. They said it would be right out. When I left 20 minutes later, with no food, no one had called it came out to explain the delay. If the good was ready at 1640, it was cold when I left without it at 1700. Will not return. read more

I have never been so disrespected in my life. Absolutely terrible service. I came to Miller's Time Out to eat out with my friends and sing some karaoke. First, the waitress asks half of our group to move to another table, another dirty table, instead of scouting out an area where we could all sit together. Then, the waitress completely ignores us, never asks for our order. When she finally does come over, she throws one menu at us, and says "you need to order, or leave." As if she ever gave me a chance! Just the nastiest attitude I have ever seen. But it gets better, because I leave and post a negative review, and management makes snarky replies! That is completely unprofessional. When I point that out, they delete all if their posts as if I didn't take a screen shot of their bad behavior. Stopped in on a weeknight around 7:00 pm. The place had seven customers in it. I sat at the bar and ordered a hamburger, medium rare, fries and a beer. The hamburger was delivered very well done. Although I was the only one sitting at the bar, the bar tender walked past me several times never once stopping to ask if everything was to my liking. By now I wanted to eat and get out of there - was never asked if I wanted another beer which I would have declined anyway - and asked for the check. I pointed out, to the bar tender, that she never once stopped to see if everything was OK or if I would like a second beer. I handed her the check and card and suggest she needs better training. She returned, throwing the bill down on the bar and responded, "Sorry I'm not perfect" and stomped away like a little child. I love coming to Miller's. The cheese fries are BOMB!! Get those!! They always have good beer on tap and you can get about any drink you want made for you. The place looks crowded by the parking lot and is usually pretty busy inside.That doesn't mean you don't get good service. This has been a long time neighborhood favorite. Not happy with their covid efforts. Over 1/2 the wait staff was not wearing their face mask. The hostess made no effort to seat with social distancing in mind. We could see into the kitchen and the staff back there didn't even have face masks around their necks so they could pretend like the wait staff. There was also no effort to stop people from entering without masks, which is the law now and their responsibility. Will not be back until vaccine in place or pandemic is over. Don't get the nacho's!! Worst I ever had. I ordered chicken nacho's, after receiving order at bar I noticed there was no chicken meat on nacho's. So I ask server where is the chicken meat? She gets a fork and digs around into the nachos and finds a piece of chicken meat about the size of my little finger nail and tells me here it is. then she tells me they put a whole chicken breast on the nachos, thats not true it that was the case there would have been a pile of chicken on the order. I was surprised by how much i enjoyed coming here. It did take a while for someone to come up to us to be seated, but after that small annoyance the service was great. We got fried pickles for an appetizer and the portion for the price was huge. I got the olive burger to eat and loved every bite of it. Everyone else at my table enjoyed their food as well. The place was packed but the food still came out at a fast rate. The bar area is deceiving to the size of the restaurant because there is a big dining room in the back. Well I hate to say it but the prior reviews were pretty accurate. The burgers have no flavor, you will need lots of salt and pepper, very bland. We also got some fried pickles which were not bad and they give you quite a few. Our service was very good and the girl that took care of us was very nice and attentive. Of course it was not very busy at the time. The kids liked the Mac and Cheese, not to bad and you get quite a bit for a kids meal. The onion rings did not have much flavor also and and are far from the "brew city" style fried products. The common theme here seems to be "salt and pepper".
