I would give Miller's 10 stars if I could. I loved everything about my visit. Every employee my husband and I came in contact with were inviting, smiling, and very informative about the specials for the night. I got lightly fried shrimp with a baked potato and the vegetable of the night which was asparagus. The shrimp was outstanding, the best I've had at any restaurant. It tasted very fresh. The baked potato literally stayed hot throughout the whole meal and the asparagus was seasoned perfectly. I had a Devils Pain Killer (alcoholic beverage) with my dinner and it didn't disappoint. My husband got the fresh fried flounder sandwich, that was really great too from what I tasted. This restaurant also has a wonderful waterside view. read more

This place was OK. It is similar to Tale of the Whale. There was a long wait around 7:30, and it's hard to find parking. The wait was about 40 mins. We took our pager and went to grab drinks in the back near the outdoor patios. The drinks were good and not skimp. I noticed that the tables were not as socially distanced as they should be. The waiters were wearings masks. My friend ordered a crabcake sandwich. No complaints there.Though, thought it was pretty small. I ordered the chicken fontina which was not that great. I am not a seafood eater, so i opted for that. The dish was a bit small. The chicken cutlet was tiny and overcooked. The chicken was chewy beyond belief and I could not cut it very well. The vegetable of the day was OK. It was zucchini. I would have liked a bit more flavor. I probably would not come here again unless I come for sandwiches/drinks, and to sit outside to enjoy the water. They did have a very nice patio. read more

In times of Covid, beware! This establishment is NOT practicing social distancing at all. Like the straws, it seems to be by request only. We arrived early and were able to be sequestered in a corner of one of the rooms. Management agreed not to seat the table immediately behind us. The food has been outstanding in past years but this time, for us, was lackluster. Soup of the day, she crab, was bland at best. Pin bones in the fish special. Hit or miss on the deveining of the shrimp. We might give it another shot next year, but we are leaving disappointed in the food and the attention to current social guidelines. read more

We went to OBX to visit the beach. We were looking for a good seafood restaurant, so we tried Miller's Waterfront. First off, the food. For the appetizer, we ordered the calamari and some hush puppies. The calamari was delicious, and so were the hush puppies. I ordered the Sunset Flounder and that was very good. The food was very good.The fish was crispy and the crab cake was amazing. The mashed potatoes were sub-par but the rest of the food was very good. Next, the service. So good we returned twice on our vacation! Views are great--looks over the sound. Gorgeous sunsets! Staff was friendly and wearing masks. Tables were a little closer than 6 feet but we were outside with a breeze, so hope the Rona blew away. I had the scallops twice--small tender scallops with cheese--so amazing. We went here on a rainy day, so they weren't doing any outdoor dinning and the garage doors of the bar overlooking the Sound were closed, but it was a great spot to grab food right on the Sound. Our server was on top of things and kept our order straight even after a couple people in our group changed their mind on their order and sides several times. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with a side of cole slaw and ate every bit. I didn't even want to use any of the pickles, lettuce, and tomato that they served with the sandwich because the flavor of the crab cake and sauce was so savory. We've been here about three times and each time is slightly different however the one consistent is the food. I always get the fried shrimp and it is delicious. The breading is light so it doesn't overly take the shrimp taste, and they are quite large too. They are served with old bay seasoned fries and coleslaw, both very good. My husband this time ordered the seafood lunch combo, which is fried oysters and scallops. Very well done but was surprised at the small quantity for the $20 price. He spoke with the manager and he very kindly went to the kitchen and got more to satisfy him. Excellent manager, he goes to ever table to see how everything was and makes it right if you aren't happy with your experience/order. Kudos!! read more

This place is awesome. There are a million places to try in the OBX, but this is a must! The restaurant itself is pretty massive and has a great view if you get there in time for sunset. They start off with giving you a massive basket of hush puppies that are tasty. We still ordered an oyster appetizer that was delicious. I ended up ordering a peach jalapeño margarita that I'm still raving about. It was one of the best drinks I've ever had and definitely the best while I was on vacation. I wish I could recreate it. I ended up ordering a scallops meal for dinner which was very good and filling. I was stuffed by the time we left, but happy. From start to finish, this was probably the best experience/food we had all of vacation. I highly recommend trying this place out. Our server was very sweet and made recommendations when we asked. We went to Miller's Waterfront Restaurant this week while we were on vacation. It is an annual ladies' lunch when going shopping in Manteo. I loved the underwater photographs around the restaurant showcasing the local catch. We were warmly greeted and sat at a table overlooking the sound. It was a perfect sunny day and was nice to see everyone doing fun water activities. Our waitress was Caitlin. She was attentive and had mostly other large family parties in the section. She balanced them with ease. I started with a cup of the She Crab soup which was the special of the day. It was a cream based soup with crab meat in every bite. I had the Soft Shell Crab BLT. I opted for no bacon (which I understand is a crime to some). It was a very big disappointment for me. The soft shell crab was beer-battered and fried. This was a shock to me. You couldn't taste the essence of crab. I ordered the vegetable of the day: Summer Squash (zucchini and yellow squash). It was very refreshing and perfect for the summertime! My mom had the Coconut Shrimp. It was very tropical and came with lots of locally caught jumbo shrimp. She also ordered the Summer Squash. She loved it as well! Until next year... read more

Parking is limited, many people just make their own parking spots. If you have a big truck then bring it, that way you can jump the curb and park in the grass if need be. The staff is very friendly, a waitress brought my son a lemonade while we waited. Wait time was about 30 minutes but it went by pretty quickly because there was live music, a pier to walk on, and a nice seating area with a great view. The food was food. That's about it. Nothing too special. Overall, this place definitely has the atmosphere which makes it worth going to. read more

Miller's Waterfront is a nice restaurant overlooking the water. When we went, it was beginning to rain, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy our dinner outside. Upon arrival, we were told to expect a wait time of 45 minutes to an hour. Luckily, the wait time was closer to 30 minutes. As we were seated, we were told the specials of the day. While waiting for our food, we were brought a basket of hush puppies. I ordered the lightly fried flounder topped with crab meat and hollandaise sauce with a side of baked potato and fresh vegetables. The flounder was delicious. The crust was golden and flaky. My wife ordered the seaside trio, which consisted of scallops, shrimp and one crab cake. She ordered them broiled. Everything was seasoned very well. We ordered cheeseburgers for the kids. They didn't seem too pleased. Overall, I'll return to Miller's again. We arrived around 7:45. I'll probably try to arrive earlier next time. read more

We just enjoyed a wonderful family meal. A party of 7, we arrived at 7pm and were told it would be up to a 90 minute wait. Luckily, it wasn't. But, our 47 minute wait was lovely on the back patio area listening to live music and playing table Jenga and drinking from the bar. When we got our table and our food we were NOT disappointed! Went here for our anniversary dinner and what a great experience!! I'm allergic to dairy and it's so hard to eat out. They were so so careful with my order and so accommodating to help me get something delicious to eat. The server was so sweet and understanding. the shrimp were delicious and fresh. The views of the sunset are beautiful. It was busy even in the off season so we had to wait for our table but easily and quickly got a few drinks and you can watch the sunset while waiting. We came the Tuesday after Labor Day and it was still surprisingly busy, it's a classy restaurant with a great view of the sound. We got the spinach and artichoke crab dip, fried Green tomatoes, and appetizer special of the night which was pork belly. The dip was really good with a great crab flavor but could have used more pita chips, the fried green tomatoes came on a bed of braised collard greens and they were really good, the pork belly was alright but was probably my least favorite thing of the meal. I got the trawl boat entree which was good but the seafood was sitting in a lot of water and I wish it was like a lemon butter or scampi sauce but it was cooked perfectly, my wife and cousin ordered the coconut shrimp and it came with 10 very large shrimp and the dipping sauce was fantastic. My aunt got the tuna steak and it was a beautiful thick cut piece of tuna that was cooked perfectly. My daughters split a pound of snow crab legs and although they were $44 per pound that really liked them and we're pulling full leg pieces of meat out so they were also cooked to perfection! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and specials, definitely worth a try just don't be surprised if there is a very long wait anytime after 5pm read more

I had high hopes for this place after visiting the sister restaurant Miller's Seafood & Steak but was disappointed. On the plus side there was no wait for lunch and we had a nice waterfront view. Appetizer of the fried green tomatoes was really good. I went for the king crab legs but they didn't have them. But the snow crab legs were good. My husbands chicken sandwich was over cooked and very chewy and dry. Our waitress was very nice and attentive until we mentioned the dry chicken and then she disappeared and we didn't see her again until the bill was needed. Overall decent meal, although pricey, but wouldn't return. I would prefer the other Miller's. read more
